He lied the last part. He had two rings. The ring that teller examining doesnt open up. The palmed ring does open up. Solid cant go thru solid.no sleight does that. Teller examined a normal ring. Gimmick was palmed. He didnt tell that.
There is a exposed video " garett thomas revealed"
He obviously uses two rings. One is solid and one is open. But he changes them really quick. So in the beginning Teller only is allowed to check his right hand, because in the left hand he hides the open version if the ring.
That was freaking cool Jason!! You're thoughts were super nice today! Thank you
I would choose a crocodile and a python by the colours are black and white
He actually did a podcast with one of the producers of the show explaining how fool us is run. The discussion between penn, teller and the producers takes about ten minutes before they tell the producers how they think it was done, they get ONE chance to get it. If they get it wrong, they have been fooled no matter what. The producers then figure out a way for Penn to communicate how they thought (incorrectly) it was done to the performer, who says no and they get the trophy moment. Penn and Teller are at no point told how it is done until after the show, if they ask, and they very rarely do, due to professional courtesy. The producers are told exactly how it is done, and shown twice in a row so they can figure out the best presentation of the effect for the studio audience and the TV cameras, so the illusion isn’t spoiled accidentally. You also have to bear in mind that Penn & Teller only see the routine once in real time, and don’t have the luxury of replays and slow motion.
very niiice info. thanks for this
i like this format. ill start watching. seems somehow authentic
Oh, that's legit.
The only thing that ruins the not spoiling the trick part is youtube's .25x speed.
The Moment you realize that the producers of fool us is gathering the worlds biggest magic trick database together, incl. realy good ones which even master magicians like Pen and Teller doesn't know! 😳 This business model is the real magic trick!
It's so obvious he used a gimmicked teller.
He told them it wasn’t
@@dylanjmatthews you should reread the comment my friend.
In the infamous words of Colonel Nathan R. Jessup, "Is there another kind?"
I’m sure he has two rings, one real and one gimmick or cut
@@dylanjmatthews oofing woosh fam
I saw him live recently. The trick is just as insane up close. Like just watching his hands even doing basic, non magic things is crazy. He is awesome and I definitely recommend going to see a show.
Jason, another great job reviewing and commenting on fantastic magic. Enjoy your ideas and your prior experience is insightful.
I suspect there is 1 whole ring and another 1/2 ring. He did not lie about the 1 whole ring not being a gimmick.
I have the same suspicion.
My thoughts also
He’d have to have two half rings tho for the teller part
@@mdotadotj9751 why?
@@mdotadotj9751 No, he literally just rotates the half a ring to slide it to the next finger. Notice how 3:43 - 3:58 he never lets go of the ring, because his middle finger at the moment is is being pressed against the half a rings opening. 3:42 you can also see from the camera angle he has 2 rings. I saw them with my very first time of watching the performance. With pausing you see everything.
Right when I saw the performance, I knew Jason would surely react. What a great performance and skill.
Seeing him live is so fun. He used to these tricks at a restaurant near me every week.
Seeing people live is pretty cool, but I usually stay for the aftershow and see them die too.
Garrett’s performance and slight of hand is amazing, I met him once and his ring was not a gimmick or it was such amazing slight of hand that he handed me a real ring he also did other tricks for other people as well
I LOVE watching real pure slight of hand tricks. The amount of skill just astounds me.
Gimmick ring. He lied to Penn .-.
@@coleeg69 He did not lie. There is no ring that opened up. 'If it is anything other than a ring that comes apart, you have fooled us.'
@@youtubeuser3357 nope... congratulations you were officially fooled. So at 3:20 he slips the real ring he was palming on his pinky. He could have done it earlier as he had the pinky covered the whole time.. but then shows the pinky in a casual just before the reveal. That was strictly to show off to another magician. It was brilliant. Then uses that half ring on Teller. Ditches it and uses real ring for two different pass though techniques.
Its a gimmick ring. It opens up slightly, he forgot to cover it when he put it on tellers finger.. which is why the guy didn't get the trophy.
@@Tankedmosquito You do realize he did get the trophy...SMH.
The thumb edit at 6:24 had me laughing. Enjoyed this episode!
I think Penn was still speaking in code. He asked him if "that ring", the one in his hand, was gimmicked. They saw no switch which means the ring in his hand needed to be real for it to be sleight of hand. He knew exactly what he was asking. Amazing sleight of hand.
Exactly right... When the trick is done with sleight of hand, Penn and Teller have to actually see the move for them to not be fooled.. otherwise just about every trick they could just say "sleight of hand" and never be fooled lol I'm pretty sure they've stated this before like with Shin Lim... They knew he was doing sleight of hand but they couldn't actually catch some of the moves which means he fooled them
I'm a bit mixed on this. A linguistic victory in some context, but he still said the words ''if you can tell us that was done in anyway other than pure sleight of hand, then we're not gonna lie, you fooled us''. He didn't actually answer penns question. Just said ''That is a completely normal ring'' which means he didn't fool them, he just never owned up to Penn being right by avoiding the topic like a politician xD. 3.56 at 0.25x speed, yeah I spoiled it for myself but you can clearly see that ring open on tellers finger.
Exactly . . . . slight of hand: there was more than one ring!
@@lawrencewhiting4927 I dunno. A con is different than a trick, but that's kinda weak even for a con. The question was if it was done in anyway other than pure sleight of hand, and only part of it was, probably done after the performance while he's waiting for the judges decision.
You guys are getting it. The ring at the end was real. That's all that matters. If he had a gimmicked ring or what I believe was a half ring, they didn't see the switch. One of the other replies clarifies this. They saw nothing, they made sure they said that to him. He was able to switch from a real ring to a gimmicked ring and back. That's sleight of hand and they didn't see the switch. He fooled them.
Such a great understated act. Loved it, especially the finger magic. It's so nice to see some simple trick that you did when you were 5 prove to be something that can still have an impact at 50.
Totally enjoyed it. Unbelievable how it was done. How he did the missing finger showing both sides. Unbelievable
This trick I've seen it in my home country ( Yemen) it had been done by a homeless guy seriously. If you asked me how he did it I say that's totally done through jinn ( elves ) intervention
@@rakan550 lmao yeah sure, he just dislocated his finger moron
His sleight of hand is insane man....watching him do the missing finger bit so convincingly is awesome...
I'm glad u reacted to this ring magic trick and the thumb thing was really amazing 😉😆🤗👍
this man did this for me one day!!! i was at a fair and him and another magician i knew were there and he showed me this about 7 years ago! i was like IS THAT THE GUY? LOL
That's in the top 2 or 3 most impossible things I've ever seen. POWER to Mr. Thomas!
@TheHound Thank you for your response. Actually, I'm autistic. Perhaps I pay attention to different aspects of the performance. To me, what was most amazing was when he took off his finger. (o_o) I like to think that we all, every one of us, is doing the best we can, given what we have to work with. All good wishes, my friend. I gave you a thumbs up.
Absolutely mind warped! Wow, brilliant performance.
Beside the magic itself the whole storyline just cracked me up, I loved every part of the act. Bravo!
Totally agree with you on this one, there's at least half an extra reality here
Yes and handled very well. I can see the moves, palming and pinches after repeat viewings but really clean. I think what is confusing people is that Penn knows the half of reality but couldn't see the moves and then the last two pass through tricks were with a real ring. So three techniques for same illusion.
I do think so, even if I'm not a magician, I almost immediately thought the was another half, expecially the first time he did it, his thumb was incredibly close to his ring.
I love this guy’s reaction videos .. basically just watches with us with zero insights. Too much work he does indeed
I subbed , you are so worth , your channel is amazing , i like your videos ❤️
I've watched the original Garrett Thomas video multiple times and never noticed the thumb thing until I watched this video and you pointed it out.
I watched the finger removal thing at .25 speed and you can see he bends his finger away, but he does it so perfectly so that it is always hidden either by his hand or by his other fingers. Good thing he knew what camera angle was going to be used because I imagine it would be ruined if seen from most other angles. Still, amazingly well done.
He had a solid ring (maybe two). He also had a solid half ring. He also had some pretty slick slight of hand.
ive watched this so many times and it is this viewing just now where I saw the second ring.
2:11 Teller broke his character for a third of a second.
I think it is important to note that Penn's wording was "If you had that ring gimmicked in any way..." in reference to the ring given to Teller and "If it is anything other that a ring that comes apart" referring more to the trick as a hole. The first statement could have been arguably beaten with a simple swap that P&T admitted to not have been able to catch. The second statement however was more definitive and was responded to with "It does not come apart." That rules out any break in the opening up of a solid ring. I think it is safe to assume that more than one ring, or partial ring was used, but that none of them had any moving parts to them.
3:39 hahaha good choice! 😄😄 This magicians magic is cool!
Great video! Thanks!
I love how he tells teller to examine his hand carefully and then does all the trick on the other hand
how did he put half a ring on tellers finger without teller noticing, impossible
I had no idea that my friend for years is that well known of a magician. I’ve watched him perform for random people on the street and he loves to bring over board games and puzzles for us to try out lol. He’s a great guy and makes his friends in Buffalo proud.
The thumb trick paired with Teller’s finger I personally feel is enough to conclude he’s using at least 2 rings. One is definitely normal though. Regardless he’s on another level!
The gimmick is not a ring
And how many fingers?
My Dad always used to say that too Jason, 'Before you argue with someone, walk a mile in his shoes'. Because that way, if you do have a bad argument, at least you're a mile away. And you have his shoes.
I agree with the “one whole ring plus one gimmicked (half or gapped or hinged or etc) ring”. Regarding the “the ring moves from one thumb to the other” part: Both are used. The “whole” ring on one thumb, and the “gimmicked” ring on the other thumb.
He has two rings. You can even see them both a split second (3:42) when he puts the ring on Tellers finger. For the part with his Thumb: This is doable with only one normal ring if you are as nimble as he is. That is really pure sleight-of-hand.
I like how he talks about preferring the intimacy of close up vs stage shows. It's clear how dedicated to the "simple" craft of sleight of hand he is, and stage shows just don't give the same effect as up close.
I think the key was Penn referenced "THAT ring". I think they know there was a second ring, but since he so cleanly handled everything that it was perfect slight of hand and that's why they gave it to him. Since the gimmicked ring was already away somewhere, he's not lying by saying that ring is not gimmicked. Just my thoughts.
I disagree I think he straight up lied. That make zero sense that they knew about both rings and were only referencing the one if you think about it a little harder I'm sure you'll realize that makes zero sense
I think thats why they have judges off stage who the magicians have to explain how it's done so you cant lie
@@sonicenamdtwice8584 I hear what you are saying, but what makes me think this is that Penn first starts, ...you have a ring that is carefully constructed.... Then at the end he specifically says that ring. The trick is impossible in the sense that a solid ring isn't going to go through Teller's finger (or anyone's), so I can only think that Penn is giving him an out. I'm probably totally wrong, it's just the way he started with a ring then switched to that ring that bothers me. Of course he may have straight up lied as you said in which case I hope someone from fool us comes out and says something since that feels wrong to let it go.
@@sonicenamdtwice8584 You can't lie on this show - the producers know how the trick is done and will overrule a false positive and false negative. It's been done before with the female French magician and the cards in the bag. She thought they figured it out, and P/T were overruled and made them go back and give her the trophy.
@@sonicenamdtwice8584 No gimmicked ring. Just a full ring and a half a ring. Here is what Penn says:
After he performed the missing index finger I can see how he did the rest. It was really just sleight of hand. However for the first part and the ring through Teller’s finger I really can’t understand how he did it unless he did have two rings. My feeling is that he did mix a lot of different techniques to confuse people. What a great presentation.
He has two rings. The one on tellers finger is cut in half, and the whole ring is in his hand.
clearly at 3:42 there are two metal parts or rings if you slow it down in his hand. It can be seen for a fraction of second right there
That was a great performance. Very entertaining.
4:00 and on, watch slowly. He opens the ring, takes it off his finger, switches the rings, holds fake ring in left hand, hands him the ring with right hand, then drops hand to his side and pockets fake ring. It took me awhile to crack this one! He is very good with his slight of hand.
Legit that was a good catch myg
Then how did he get the solid, non-gimmicked ring off of or on Teller's finger?
There is no opening. There’s a half ring and a whole ring. The half ring is in front of Teller’s finger and the whole ring is behind, he essentially spins and switches them in this move.
@@maccharalambous2851 clearly at 3:42 there are two metal parts or rings if you slow it down in his hand. It can be seen for a fraction of second right there. Same at 4:05, there's clearly a gap in the ring and it seems he hands over the same ring to Teller. Weird

I think the best trick was only inspecting his right hand for "prosthetics"... and then doing the whole trick on his left land.

I'm trying to *smash* Like, but I'm having some issues with my thumb . Help!!
The best yet!
Definitely a dual reality going on but it is the shifting between those two realities that is the pure 100% sleight of hand so to speak. And it was amazingly done.
Yeh I’m agreeing with you.
Mike Close (the backstage judge who knows the ins and outs of the trick before he goes on stage) went on a podcast and said that the trick is done with a non gimmicked ring and a secondary tool that helps him make the deception possible. The ring itself does not come apart
I've watched through this performance quite a few times, and actually seeing this "secondary tool" only makes the whole thing that much more impressive. Man, he's good.

I'm not sure what the Aesop's Fable lesson was but your frog voice was hilarious! Also loved Garrett's performance and your reaction of course. When he said the ring doesn't come apart my reaction was ... What? What? What? three times because that is hard to believe. Great trick.
Thanks I'm glad you appreciated my frog voice haha :)
I think any sensible person would know that there must have been a shell or a gimmick ring in the middle of the act. The fooling part was he gave out a ring for examination seemingly without a switch. That means either the switch was really really good, or the gimmick ring was crafted very very good so it can be examined (even by Teller) without giving away its secret. To say it's a pure slight of hand, has to mean he did a switch under Teller's nose without getting caught. And that is amazing.
I've known Garrett for years. He taught me many card tricks, and helped me perfect my Elmsley count when I used to go to the local magic shop here in Buffalo, NY (many moons ago. It closed down years ago because the owner died. RIP Mr. Graham.) I can say, that if he says the ring wasn't gimmicked, chances are, it was not.
@George Henry Where is the lie, he has two rings - swapping between them is slight of hand.
@George Henry The ring is solid, it's not gimmicked. He just had to put in 150% effort to pull it off.
@George Henry That's not what Penn tried to bust him on. Penn tried to bust him on "There is only one ring in the whole act, and it's gimmicked." Garrett won because Penn implicitly said "If you used sleight of hand to switch the rings, neither Teller nor I caught it, so you win."
@George Henry 🤣 Dude, the "150% effort" isn't a joke it's code. For how the trick is most likely done... Man, it's amazing how the loudest people are often the most dense.
Teller get to examines right hand, then Garrett does the trick with his left hand. I think he can bend his fingers way way back. IDK how that helps with moving the across to each one. I think I saw a few frames where the ring looked like part was missing at 4:05 before he removes it and gives it to Teller
He is holding two rings there, one right next to the other. The whole one is further inside the two fingers.
An awesome performance.
This Magician is a Legend! the best!
"...one ring to rule them all, and in the darkness bind them." It was obviously forged in Mordor, using magma from Mt.Doom.
Yes.. but how did he do the missing ring finger trick!! That was just as impressive!
His "missing" finger he right there, behind another finger. You see him fold it when he turns his hand.
Crazy when you slow it down you can see him flipping the half ring to the next finger. Beautiful slight of hand.
Yep, at .25 speed you can see how it was done easily, still well done, the slight of hand changing rings though, slick.
A Bald Eagle Body with a German Shepherd Head. Watching from the Philippines. Thank you for posting this video Sir.
If he could have done this without 2 rings then he likely could ask someone for their ring and done it. The fact that he didn't suggests he had a twin ring that was cut in half. His sleight of hand skills however are epic and what won the trophy for him. Excellent routine.
Its two rings, one is a half a ring and fits inside the normal one, which is why he holds it in such an conspicuous and awkward way. Of course, knowing how it is done and being able to do it like he does are two different things. Superb performance. I wonder how many hours of practice he put into it.
Piece of paper printed to look like half a ring
Lol nice conspiracy theory 😂
There are two rings, one that is fully circular, and the other has an opening. At the end of the trick, the one with the opening is placed over the full ring and appear as one.
I just saw him live last night, he comes to his hometown of Buffalo and does a show at the local steakhouse every Wednesday, and it was amazing! He did this trick and did it again with my friends ring (it actually fit lol) and yeah no gimmick ring! Amazing humble guy
4:05 opening on the ring as it slides onto his index finger.
I’ve had the pleasure of watching Garrett perform up close. He’s amazing. Even when he showed me what he’s doing, I was still in awe of his skills. It never gets old. I think he’s one of the best sleight of hand artists out there. And no, he didn’t lie. He answered Penn honestly. It’s sleight of hand. And it’s flawless. It’s like watching a Globetrotter with a basketball. Always entertaining and equally as skillful and practiced. He creates a dual reality, for sure, Jason. FYI: He’s got some talks you can find on KZhead where he talks about his philosophy of magic and it really excites me. The idea of showing something that’s not there. And I highly suggest his stuff he sells, especially Opus, if you’re interested in learning more and taking a deep dive into how to get better with magic. I could watch Opus all day but Imagination is my favorite when it comes to really shocking a person.
Thanks for sharing Andy :) I do believe Garrett is very talented for sure!
Brilliant moves here ... flabbergasted and flummoxed
Watch 3:56 to 3:58 and play in .25 speed you can see a hinge open on the ring on tellers hand, it's a gimmicked ring
Amazing!
Two different rings.. but , sleight of hands Amazing
he has a trick that he doesn't perform on camera! chris ramsey said it's amazing!! i really wanna see it!!
A duality would work, though where the other one came and went who freaking knows, teller didn't even catch the switch which is seems insanely impossible but its probable, the wording used was if the ring itself was gimmicked. Not if a gimmic was used. Garret gots some slick sleights for sure! Thank you for your reaction and input!🦑🤙!
I saw this video a while back, and I thought the ring trick was super basic and obvious. But the missing finger stuff, while obvious, was incredibly impressive. If you watch in super slow motion you can still hardly see anything. He is amazingly fast.
His ring truly didn't have any gimmick. Very good sleight of hand. He used props but the props didn't have any gimmick.
Lmao😂that ring was so gimmicked i even saw a video exposing him
Its 2 rings, ones solid, the others not. His slight of hand is still masterful. I don't know how he transfers so fast and unseen.
Every time that sharp, jagged trophy of death comes down from the ceiling, I think that somebody on this show someday is going to lose an eye - and it won't be a trick!
wow! thanks JASON! for reacts Garrett Thomas lol `Liger / Tiger + lion. Because of this animal Combined, it looks formidable It is the peak of a hunter's power! And now it was born
First thing I notice is how the ring is designed, 4 bands. They probably interlock, possibly the 1st and 3rd, & the 2nd and 4th inner connected. His rotational flourish is still rotational so there's probably a twisting unlock going on, kind'a like possibly Viking Magic's brass ball & tube.
The ring isn't gimmicked at all
The emphasis on putting those new ear buds in though at :56 😂👍🎉
He is clearly using a gimmick half ring and a regular ring. His sleight of hand is near perfect while he hides the other ring. However, just as he gets ready to put the ring on Teller's finger, the revealing camera angle shows both rings being placed into his right hand. You can see this at 3:42. Teller couldn't see it, nor could Penn and the audience. It was just a fluke that the camera caught it. If you watch closely at 4:09 he pockets the gimmick .
Yep, that is it. Thx.
Bingo
It's a normal ring as he said in the end. If it wasn't the judges would have intervened, if he somehow pocketed it.
Iv watched video of the moving ring , which means he lied to Penn about the gimick... But the judges know how its done, so curious what happened here ... if he had to return the trophy ...
@@bikeadventuresokanagan9293 They asked, is *that* ring gimmicked and he said *this* ring is a normal ring.
That face you’re making in the thumbnail sent me 🤣
lol, I love how the crowd went wild over the last trick when that was the easiest ring trick to "pull off"
At 4:05, when he inserts the ring into his index finger right after taking it from Teller, for a couple frames you can see the ring "pop open", which he quickly readjusts by removing the ring from the finger and pressing it in a circle. You have to pass it frame by frame with the < and > keys.
The magic of technology reveals all and trumps the human.
clearly at 3:42 there are two metal parts or rings if you slow it down in his hand. It can be seen for a fraction of second right there
In a podcast I stumbled across recently, Garrett said that he used a regular, non-gimmicked ring and something else. I did not say what that something else was though.
clearly at 3:42 there are two metal parts or rings if you slow it down in his hand. It can be seen for a fraction of second right there
There is a single still frame before the camera cuts (around the time just before he gives the ring to teller) that you can see he actually does have 2 rings in his right hand. So either some of it was a bit of slight of hand at times and others was some form of gimmicked ring (just not in the way penn phrased it), or the entire thing was actually pure slight of hand and he's doing the entire thing with 2 rings. Either way pretty unreal magic.
hi would you ever upload your workout routine?
One observation is Teller examined his right hand then he did the trick on his left hand .
yeah his left fingers are detatchable
@@duncanmagee that makes sense.
I figured it out, finally after seeing this performance 3 times. His fingers are incredibly flexible, and he is simply bending them at incredible speeds
No no. He only did that on his pinky, when he went from finger to finger it is just smart slight of hand, you can see how he does that in slow motion totally fooling the crowd, but how he got the ring of teller was the most amazing part. It has to be a gimmick,no other explanation.
@@sgtcaco I'm inclined to believe him that the ring wasn't gimmicked. That he just used pure sleight of hand when doing teller. Either that, or he swapped in an exact gimmicked replica exclusively to use on Teller
@@jeremysmith8698 you have to understand that teller ask THAT ring. He actually used the gimmick ring for the first part of the act, once he had pocketed the gimmick ring he finished the act with the normal ring. The normal ring so he did not technically lie. But he definitely used 2 rings in the first parts. You can actually see all this if you study it in slow motion. The sleight of hand is incredible.
@@sgtcaco I'd say in slow motion on the middle and pinky finger swaps you can actually see the ring is altered. You can see him closing it with his thumb on the pinky finger and you can see him sliding it on to the bottom of his middle finger at about a 45 degree angle at one point.
@@Phlegm187 , clearly at 3:42 there are two metal parts or rings if you slow it down in his hand. It can be seen for a fraction of second right there
the real sleight of hand was producing the ring which Teller examined....still so well done that if they didn't see it in person then he got them!
i love that you highlighted the thumb thing swap - its so smooth in the performance, that I missed that yes, this was fantastic!
I think the key is, Penn asked, "If you have *that* ring gimmicked in any way..."
What if... as a lot of people are saying, there are 2 rings, 1 full normal ring, 1 half ring.... then none of the rings are gimmicked... none of the rings open up or something... it's just a sleight of hand switching them... right?
half ring is still gimmick, but he just use sleight of hand to switch. And if this is the case, then he has a same gimmick and act with Patrick Kun. The Halo Project.
@@hectormedinae.876 But the whole ring was on Penn's finger, they weren't switched there.
@@tomekstec981 No, only the half ring went on Teller's finger. Watch when he puts it on, he's always covering half of it. Then watch closely at 4:01 when he twists it around before taking it off. You can see there's nothing on Teller's finger exactly where the ring should be.
@@hectormedinae.876 well penn also mentioned a shell being used, which basicly is a half ring
It literally must be one normal ring and one half ring in order for Garrett to simultaneously not be lying and also be possible (along with tons of sleight of hand).
It was two rings but that doesn't mean he wasn't lying he absolutely was lying.
@@sonicenamdtwice8584 Penn said they didn't see any sleight of hand. So if he was switching between a real ring and a half ring, he 100% fooled them.
@@sonicenamdtwice8584 Not lying. Here is what Penn said: 'If it is anything other than a ring that comes apart, you have fooled us.' There was no ring that came apart.
@@HaplessMagician YEP! That is why he got a trophy.
I have the same conclution but I needed to watch it three times. But I'm sure that's the secret a full ring and a Half ring switching between them.
Most times I can know what people do with slight of hand, but knowing the trick is the easy part, performing it is the hard and sometimes impossible part. #respectmagicians
He did it so wisely and perfectly. The only trick how he slides the ring through his fingers that needs explanation. If one watch it in a slow motion or with playbackspeed of 0.25, one will notice that Garret had not wore it on any of his fingers except in the last on his little finger. 😉
"that" ring doesn't come apart. he did swap it out, he's that good.
So here is the only solution I can think of: 1. He used not just a ring but also one or more fragments of a ring to create the illusion, that he was actually wearing the ring, which obviously was not the case. Instead he was hiding the ring in his hand. Very impressive!
clearly at 3:42 there are two metal parts or rings if you slow it down in his hand. It can be seen for a fraction of second right there
at 3:42 you can see both rings (the full ring on the inside position, the 1/2 ring about to go on the finger)
@11:34 Garrett is referring *_only_* to the ring that he threw to the floor, not the *working* ring that is _rung in & out of his excellent transpositions.
Looks to me he had 2 rings, you can clearly see one is ticker than the other, the thicker one is a real ring. The middle finger missing, is actually behind the front fingers, and then he moves it in front during transition to show it missing from the back, it's just a lots of finger training involved, he's quite strong in that area, physically strong.
There is an RTS game called impossible creatures, where you can combine different animals to make cool new ones
I love this act and would love to see it in person. He fooled me for sure. I, like Penn and Teller, thought it had to be a (singular) gimmicked ring in some way. The fact the ring is not gimmicked means he definitely fooled me. Insofar as the question: Probably a cat and a bird. Flying cats would be cool.
If you play at .25 speed and just tap the > frame by frame you can clearly see what is going on with the ring on the middle and pinky finger switches particularly so he lied about it not being altered. Slow mo takes the fun out of magic.
@@Phlegm187 He didn't lie. Only profoundly stupid people think he did.
A platypus and honey badger. Because, well, picture a platypus with those fangs and muscle and attitude!
They are already venomous, so that is scary.
A Punny Badger... it tells dad jokes all day.
kitten + dragon = awesome
These responses are great 😆
I am watching this in slow motion and he absolutely does not take the ring off the normal way, and you can see him putting it on the next finger from the bottom. I agree with the people saying that it's not a trick ring, that he uses a real ring, and that is what he gave to Teller, and also means he did not lie, but he also uses a half ring. Technically, "Does the ring come apart" can be answered with no and still be honest if you have 1 real ring, and 1 half ring. It's still incredible sleight of hand.
It's incredible sleight of hand
Watch 3:56 to 3:58 and play in .25 speed you can see a hinge open on the ring on tellers hand, it's a gimmicked ring
@@reubendodd1664 that got debunked, there was a big controversy involving this and some other KZhead channel where a guy posited that he lied to Penn and Teller, and both the lead judge backstage and this magician responded and said it isn't a gimmick ring, and he is answering them truthfully he uses 2 rings, one must be pinched to hold its shape, the other is a normal ring you can see him perform the switch before he places the ring on teller's finger if you watch it in slow motion, and you can see him switch it back when he hands the ring to him for inspection
Owl and octopus, imagine how smart that thing would be!
