Georgia fan here: Alabama deserved to win 100%. Bama was the better team, more physical on both lines of scrimmage. Georgia made more self inflicted mistakes in this game than I've seen us make since the 2019 South Carolina game and that cost us the game, cannot do that against a team like Bama and get away with it. It's been a magical run but it was gonna end eventually and it did today, there's a reason 3peating is so difficult. I'm proud of the resilliency Georgia showed today in the 4th quarter but we simply didn't make the plays and Bama did. GG to Bama, Saban continues to show why he's the best coach in the history of the sport and if y'all do end up making the CFP you'd be my pick to win it all. Milroe is a warrior and a matchup nightmare for anybody and your defense is the best it's been in years. Go Dawgs, have no doubt we'll come back from this and be right back in the thick of it next season.

Jalen Milroe truly developed remarkably fast after the first game against Texas. Milroe knew that 2 interceptions in the game against Texas cost Alabama an undefeated regular season. Notice that after that first game against Texas that "Milroe concentrated on not throwing interceptions" and he used his speed more. Those were 2 important factors in Alabama going undefeated the remaining games.
He's still a below avg qb in the passing game. Bama schemed to not completely expose him to his weaknesses.

That Texas game wasn’t on him. The oline had like 6/7 penalties for 50+ yards and 2 of them negated TDs and the defense was not playing good. Milroe wasn’t perfect but he gets to much flack for Bama early season struggles

I don't know if the Head Coach told the players or not, but He should have DEFINITELY told his players to treat this game as if this was not only the actual bowl game, but that to also treat Bama as if they were the #1 team because they have the most experience regardless of the loss they had. And the game showed who played like they were #1 as opposed to the team who actually was.

I think the true national championship game would be the SEC winner (Alabama as it turns out) vs Michigan who beat Ohio St. Washington and FSU are second-tier, and Texas is odd man out. But in the real CFP world, Washington and FSU have won their games, and Texas did beat Bama early in the season, and has done things right in recent weeks to advance to the CFP.

Alabama's QB makes life more difficult than it should be. He has a very good Offensive Line, but I think that is his problem. They usually give him enough time to either throw the ball or get out of the pocket to use his feet. But he stands in the pocket longer than he should, so he gets sacked or has to throw the ball away.
Man, these next 4 hours is going to be fun. If both Florida State and Michigan go down, they will have caused more chaos in the CFP. BTW, CBS says goodbye to SEC football after 28 seasons

If Michigan and FSU win tonight, there's probably a good chance they miss out seeing as the committee probably won't leave out an undefeated power 5 champion and the committee has highly rated Texas's head-to-head advantage over Alabama all season.

If you don’t think Georgia is one of the top 4 teams in the country, you’re wrong. That was one of the most competitive football games I’ve ever seen. Glad the tide got it done, but I’m very glad we probably won’t have to play the dawgs again 😂 but if the playoff committee is taking the top 4 teams, Georgia is on that list.
Yes Georgia is on the list, and Alabama isn’t.
That's not how it works though. Similarly, Ohio St. barely lost to the new #1, Michigan. So while the top 4 teams in the nation might indeed be Michigan, Ohio St, Alabama, and Georgia (not in any special order), there is an understanding that recent losses get you kicked out of the top 4. That leave the weaker undefeated teams in the CFP (Washington, FSU). And because Texas beat Alabama and is currently ranked #7 vs Bama #8, it's hard for the CFP to not put Texas as #4. Ohio St is left in the cold.
I think that the champion's should play other champions . They earned it. I'm from Ga. and I said this before the game. And beating the Team that has been #1 almost all season. Say's allot about Alabama but more about the powder puff schedule that Ga. had.

This was definitely the game that made my weekend.... Oh by the way. Alabama fan here... I really thought we were gonna choke in this game for sure.. Defense definitely showed out and proved it has evovled over the weeks. Offense is still working itself out but definitely has molded itself a bit around Milroe's QB style. I made this crazy comparison of Milroe before the season being a lot like Lamar Jackson type a bit cuz in the beginning he wasnt one the most effective passers. His legs are what kept the games going at times. I really don't know what will happen tho.... We have a chance to prove ourselves. This Bama team is still developing in my opinion and will maybe be better next season. I fear that we could maybe be going into a crazy situation where if we beat michigan. What if Texas handles Washington?? I think they definitely will. Nothing Against Washington and what they have done. To be perfectly honest...... Again.... I didn't think Bama was gonna handle the game as well as we did... but we did... So I don't really know what will happen... I have one big question for everyone especially non-SEC fans out there. What if Alabama were to win the natty??? Do you think that would finally be enough for Saban to retire or keep going?? And if so... Who will take up the mantle of coach?

Two different networks and a host of other analysts have now all said the same thing ... Mich, Wash, Texas and Bama will be the 4 teams in the CFP this season. The FSU game is irrelevant because the FSU SoS is too weak, they have zero quality wins this year and their total body of work is far worse than the other teams. They will be the first undefeated conference Champions to be left out of the CFP (if they can even beat Louisville that is) ... I agree with the assessment
