@@jonpictogramjones4045 You never get the kimura in the pros, but you do get the guy to scramble and give up his back or the mount. Hate when the ref gets involved in the fight. They stop clinches along the cages way too early still.

I like Arlovski but that referee was definitely giving him special treatment, standing them up when Nelsons in side control and stopping the fight as soon as Roy fell back was very unfair.

Roy was smart, and KOd a lot of people. I don’t remember him grappling a whole lot. All great champions did the “lay and pray”
If you can neutralize your opponent who should be able to get up if it was only weight keeping on the ground, I think that a natural middle weight who don't train much and 80 lbs over his weight should be respected especially by chump who probably can barely beat off let alone beat someone up

One of the most egregious reffing decisions in MMA history.
Dunno about that. He totally looked knocked out, and didn't even get in any kind of defensive position when he went to the ground. That's a clear KO in my eyes. Just because he complained about an early stoppage afterwards doesn't make it the wrong decision. He would have caught some absolute bombs if the ref didn't stop it. He didn't even get his hands up to cover his head.

@@99Gara99 With weight divisions, you can always use weight on your side. But muscle weight is much more useful than fat weight. Think how good he would be if that weight was muscle, not fat. Also, he tired early in the fight, letting Arlovski go off on him. I think his big belly did help him with marketing, but I doubt it really helped him in any fight.

That ref sucks. Seemed like every time Big Roy was in control the ref would separate them. I’ve seen fights that would spend way more time working along the fence without getting separated, and I’ve never seen a fight get brought too their feet when someone was working a submission. Rigged fight or perhaps just a bias ref who’d rather see Roy lose.
