Dunno, the fact they say "From A producer of IT and an executive producer of The Grudge and The Ring" but don't tell you who means nothing, could be all hype and nothing more. It looks like they're going with the 'strong, brave independent woman that don't need no man' crap.

After seeing this movie, (and being 100% confused and grossed out by it) i can confidently say that this trailer was done incredibly well. it gives literally nothing away, it's taken random scenes from the movie and made it seem like its a completely different plot than what it actually is.
I’m definitely watching it now since you said it grossed you out 😂
@Eli Honestly, it's surprising that there are people who like it. It would be a very good movie if the trailer was the way you watched it. It was absolutely shoddy and disgusting. And from time to time I question why I watched this disgusting movie.

Did you see the Spanish Horror movie “REC?” The killer of Barbarian looks exactly the same like the one in REC. Also in a dark hidden room. That can be no coincidence. Barbarian was creepy, but top much bullshit. A hidden room in the basement? And behind that hidden room another basement, unbelievably huge? What about that fall in the end? She fell way before the killer fell? How can she be on top of the killer? And why the owner of the house not kill the monster with the gun? Not in one scene, but several. The old man in the hidden basement looking for something in the drawer.. why was the owner of the house asking him what he was doing, instead of find out what he was looking for? So many bullshit.

Zero idea? I think I just learned the entire plot in two minutes.

Nah i get you, the exact "what" about what's fucked up here is not clear. It's not just "keep someone in a basement". A place like that shouldn't have rock underneath it like that. It's not just mindfuck stuff, it's realityfuck. Looks good.
My thoughts exactly! I wanted to turn it off around 45sec because I expected the whole movie to be ruined. Looks awesome
I'm pretty sure the trailer for NOPE pulled that off better
This is called a real trailer. No revelation of the suspense at all which makes the curiosity to watch the movie.
"From a producer of this, from a producer of that" was funny though.
Maybe if they had stopped when she walked down the stairs into the dark it would have had no revelations. Now we know in advance that Keith is taken and some sort of experiments has been going on down there. Way too much information.

Man this movie nailed the tension, scares and pacing. Really adored how they wrapped up the disparate storylines together in the last half.
After seeing this movie twice and revisiting this trailer, it’s clear how effective this trailer is at giving nothing away and how cleverly it pulls bits and pieces out of the context of the storyline and put them together in a way that makes you think you’re getting one thing, but end up with something completely different. And that’s how a trailer should be done.

@@sphx I thought it had a couple of gorey and uncomfortable moments. Only saw half a trailer - that was enough for me to go and get a cinema ticket. And I ABSOLUTELY loved the film. When some of the mid-film twists happened, I just sat in there, thinking: "OMG how is this film so good?" Exactly my kind of scary film 😊 Can't believe it's not being promoted more.
Same!
The key thing I enjoyed about this trailer is right off the back once it is reveled Bill Skarsgård's character is in the tunnel, he isn't chasing her. He is almost like pleading for her rescue signifying that he is also a victim of what is going on as well instead of being portrayed as the victimizer in the beginning of the trailer. Already turning the premise upside down. I'm invested.
Or so they make us think! Lol
Well, there are 3 possibilities. 1. Hideous baddies rent out place to torture unfortunates. Deliberately overbook and lure in victims 1-by-1. 2. Hideous baddies rent out place to torture victims. Accidentally overbook without realising. Lure in Keith. Heroine to the rescue! 3. Hideous baddy/baddies rent out place to entrap victim. Keith is a baddy and pretends to be victim in order to lure in the lady (I forget her name). There is a 4th possibility which is that *she* is the villain, or, one of the villains. After all, we know nothing about her except that she claims to have a booking, and was prepared to go down a tunnel.
If it’s a secret door that led her down there, how do you know there aren’t multiple secret doors? He could have chased her down there and then went in through the other doors. Also, there was more than one guy in the trailer, Justin Long, it could be him crying for help. (Just adding possibilities)
Bill Skarsgard isn't in the tunnel. Justin Long is. The only time we see Bill is the beginning of the trailer. Which tells me it's a twist, and he's the bad guy.
@@kyleroberts1276 watch again Bill is definitely in the tunnel before we see Jason long I would say out your speed at 25. Or 5 to slow it down.

I personally don't see a production credit as a necessary indicator of whether I might like a movie or not. Because I'm not that sure about their creative say for the movie. I mean, Steven Spielberg for example is an executive producer on all the Bay Transformers movies! this trailer looks very promising though, I agree
@@goodial I guess u dislike all trailers then, almost 90% of movie trailers mention producer names. That’s just something they have to do. For credit and to bring people in. @@ijionclifton9148 It's one of the greatest comedy movies of all time made by two of the greatest comedic geniuses of all time Trevor Moore(R.I.P) and Zach Cregger( Who wrote and directed Barbarian)
One of the best films I have ever seen in my life
A very unexpected movie. I definitely recommend it. 7/10 I'd say
This is one of the times that I loved the name dropping: when they drop the right names, it looks like a really good one. Looking forward to it!
All companies should make trailers this way, especially horror movies. Surprised it's 2 whole minutes usually they spoil everything in that time.
Fuckin’ love this movie!!! Just watched it for the first time last night and me and my friends were dying 😂
Finally saw this at the flicks today and watching the trailer again is fascinating! So many things make so much more sense!!! Amazing trailer!!!
Amazing movie! An actually good and creative horror movie that doesn't just use jumpscares every 5 seconds. A MUST WATCH
Bill always doing these scary roles😱
Ok this is the perfect trailer. SO MANY movies now.....if you watch the trailer, you basically watch the movie This gives NOTHING away
This movie was intense scary i loved it tbh i kinda felt sad for the creature when she let Tess kill her because she knew it will be the best for Tess and the way she jumped to save her she got to live her dream of becoming a mother through Tess so she let's her kill her just shows how a mother can go to any extent to save her child tbh
Well, the trailer started off as a romantic movie where two strangers meet due to a mess-up but turned out to be a nightmare for both. It's an amazing trailer and I'm looking forward to it. Amazing!
please watch it. It’s amazing
nightmare is the most accurate word to describe this movie.
@@MSUParker you mean it’s bad? Everything I’ve read about it has been positive so far. Should i not watch it? (Please no spoilers)
_spoiler alert_ why do y’all do that? Shut up 🙄🙄🙄
Saw the trailer in theatres and was shook! Can’t wait for this!
Great Movie so suspense, I've got heartburn, palpitation etc. Gosh I love this movie, congrats I can't sleep tonight!
I saw this exciting film 3x on a long-distance flight with the airline Condor from Frankfurt to La Romana and completely forgot my fear of flying.
GO SEE THIS MOVIE! SO GOOD! Justin Long blew me away in the best ways. Love him.
I just saw this movie because of Bill Skarsgård and of course I would ignore my instinct for self-preservation for a complete stranger who looks like him but also it was much more entertaining than I expected, definitely a must watch even if you're not a horror fan.
@life hbo max
I think Bill Skarsgard is hot, but even if a guy looks like him you should never ignore your common sense and intuition. Good looking guys can also be creeps and killers.
@@iridescentraindrops ted bundy was good at killing because of his looks
This movie was so much better than expected. Holy moly😢
Was so disturbed and shaken up that I cried after this movie 👍🏽
