Josh, another great video in all respects! One thing....from initial flight training - way back when. I was always taught to treat the prop the same as the proverbial unloaded gun....don’t trust it!
I agree! A few people called that out in the comments here, and I appreciate the feedback. We check our magnetos before shut down after every flight to make sure the off position grounds them every time, but just like a firearm, you should always assume that it’s hot and ready to go. Learning and refining every day! Thanks for the feedback.
it would have been a good video anyway. just look at the passenger :-P
@@Aviation101 I have a fear of flying and acrophobia. I was told that the best way of fighting with it is learning how flying works or what is happening, and I find your videos great, it definitely helps a lot. Thanks.
Yeah my dad taught me to fear the prop lol, the only way I get close to it is to check for nicks or bends during my pre-flight. Not to mention me bonking my head into some of the bigger plane's props at the hangar I work at. I've been traumatized!
Agreed, first thing I noticed/learned from this video, I freaked out a little thinking it was going to be used as a "what you should not do" but that never came. xD
Josh: shows her great pilot skills and knowledge 👨✈️ Her: impressed he could identify Magenta. 🤣
She was smiling ear to ear. Good sign for a Pilot to be.
Hopefully she'll pursue it!
I think she liked Josh more than the flight.
@@msnpassjan2004 I think she really liked both!
it's fun to fly in weather in a small Cessna. They were having fun. But, in case this leads further, here's a refresher course on that: kzhead.info/sun/ea1_lMeAooyppX0/bejne.html
3:58 😍😍😍😍😍
Dude, on behalf of all Controllers, if you didn't get a date we're going to pull your ticket.
She looked like she wanted to jump his bones the whole time. I dont think you have anything to worry about. ='D
Did you see the way she looked at him 😍 Its been a bit since we have seen lil Joshy getting those eyes 🤣😂
Well, I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who thought that haha! 🙈
Me thinks something is going on
Last time I tuned in it was Brooke.
Wayne Beck that was literally like 3 years ago 🙈
Lol! I saw the look too👀😂
Thanks everyone for the great feedback! This was a short, relatively last-minute flight. That morning, the plan was to put Peyton in the left seat and get her acquainted with basic stick-and-rudder flying in VFR weather, but the clouds just wouldn't lift. We were going to just scrub, but decided that since we already had the plane fueled and pre-flighted, lets just go do an IFR proficiency flight for myself. It was fun! Thanks for watching. Please leave any feedback you might have in the comments!
That look that she gave you when you greased that landing 😬.
you really should get some turbulent juice for um... turbulent power
Surely am not the only one who saw the way she looks at him, 3:58 theres something going on lol. I think hes smart enough to decipher it too lol
@@samdish same as sarah in alaska floatplane
That young lady is smitten with Mr Josh!!
She keep her eyes on you the entire flight...This young lady likes you!!!!
Relax everyone. There's a difference between looking at someone because you're falling on love and when you total admire and respect them for what they do. She clearly respects and admires him. That's what y'all are seeing.
"What's this stick thing called??" THEN "I think I'M ready to solo" CLASSIC
I love that sideways glance on short final basically looking to you for reassurance “Is this OK”. A great video
My wife doesn’t even look at me like that...
Once you say "I Do" they know they don't have to try anymore, true story.
look 🛩️
I get the look from my wife end of every month when some of my salary is missing, except she was frowning all the time.
kzhead.info/sun/grJseLdspIGQeI0/bejne.html Yup. And of course you know why... J/s. sorry friend
Nope, they sure don't bud...she now looks at other men like that... Guys she works with, other mutual friends, strangers, whatever....Women need to be smitten with someone and if it's not you it'll be someone else.
"Not in this plane" . . . Love it!!!!
give her an airbus its got a land button and a takeoff button simple cake lol
@@Newberntrains hysterical ! - but I give her a ton of credit, she's way smarter than that :-)
Payton is a good company to fly, smiling in turbulence, curious and a good observer.
She didn't want to fly the plane.
You could see the wheels turning for Peyton. Lots of great questions. She should get after that PPL. She'll make a great pilot!
If it was a male would you say the same?
@@bobbob123ful quit looking for ghost ..... its ok
The one thing I have admired for several years about your channel...... you make aviation appear much more accessible than others do. Whether in a King Air, SR22T, or a little Cherokee, there’s always a sense that you couldn’t be happier in any other plane at that time. I hope your voice to the next generation of aviators is listened to because it’s refreshing.
I appreciate that!
I'm rock misc
I learned a few things about you and you have answered some questions to that I’ve had. Love your videos! They teach me a lot
Tal: Have some money, and my daughter too while you're at it. Good deal.
I mean you are getting a good deal there my friend... I would encourage you continue with lessons.
Josh is the perfect gentleman, which is why men like Tal can trust him with their daughters...
shes a dimey dime and seems very interested. should do a series training her for the PPL :)
You’re a talented CFI-industry needs more like u
Man, that was some wild, wild weather right there, coming in and out of cloud all the time looked really cool. Good vibes coming from Peyton too. Enjoyed this a lot!
She was glowing!!! You have created memories for her to last a lifetime. Great job, Josh.
Bring Peyton along more often. She asks good questions, especially for us novices.
This guy always makes very smooth take on, congratulations!
IFR stuff is great Josh!! Really helpful as I start in on my IFR training. Thanks as always
Entertaining and educational. Great stuff Josh, keep it up!
Thanks for taking us along. Great flight 👍
This trip has produced some of the best and most challenging flying of all your videos Josh. Nothing tame about the trip at all. I really think you have inspired Peyton to pursue that license to learn. Thanks for taking us along.
Hey Josh great video as always! I just got my long IFR cross country out of the way today. It’s very satisfying, breaking out of those clouds and seeing the runway. 👍🏻✈️😁
This is a super video! I learned a lot from the challenging situations. Thanks!
The fact that she asked so many questions...and you were perfectly capable with an appropriate response every time..was such an amazing help for me. The basic knowledge is so often overlooked in aviation videos
Another great video... liked that this seemed more raw and less produced. Keep it up!!
Love your stuff man! This has really inspired me to use my reasonably new PPL in different ways and can't wait to try and replicate your trips eventually. These are truly an inspiration. If you ever find yourself in the front range of Colorado and want to fly give me a shout!
Josh can’t tell when he’s being flirted with.
The rainbow wasn't the only "spectrum" on display in this vid.
Great video. Nothing like getting some actual instrument time! Appreciate the content, thanks!
The added dimension of having a possible student pilot on board asking interesting questions, makes excellent content, & is useful to help understand exactly what's going on. - Thanks to you both..
Great video Josh and she asked a lot of good questions! Thanks.
Gotta love all the soundtracks he uses and the editing makes it so much more amazing to watch. Love you watch the video extremely Amazing and informative.
Man I wish I had an instructor like you ! I'd be flying in no time ... your a great pilot man.
Another great ride. IFR flying is truly a challenge - you do it well. Thanks.
Nice video Josh , cant beat the real IMC conditions and passing the FAF in IMC makes the logbook look good too .. well done ..
"Oh look it's a Rainbow!" "Oh yeah I see it......so you ready to get your license?" You sir are a professional.
At 12:30, I wanna add to what you said regarding getting your PPL. Once I got mine I felt like finally had a good understanding of aviation as a whole. Could not have been farther than the truth lol. Day after my checkride I flew my Grumman across FL from FXE to DAB and wow was that a learning experience. One of the best days of my life no doubt, but I was left with more questions about flying, weather, aircraft systems, than I had while I was a student. Another great video Josh, thanks for doing what you do!
Thanks for sharing some words of wisdom! I appreciate the support!
You flew into KDAB? That can be a stressful flight
Very true. I got my PP about 25 hours after I bought my first airplane, a 172XP, and thought I knew what I was doing. But next 300 hours/2 years in that bird was a continual progressive learning experience. And the learning has never stopped, 500 hours later. A good pilot never stops learning.
All her questions were good questions. I think you helped her motivation and understanding of being a pilot a lot.
Fun IFR flight...Nice landing you make it look easy!
What an uplifting video, love it! And Payton sure had a fun time, that was a obvious! :D I went up in a 172 like 25 years ago as a kid... I should try to do that again some day! Good luck on that PPL lady! Go for it!
Another nice and interesting video! Thank you Josh!
Sure brings back the memories. Thanks.
again..a very nice video. appreciate them all.
I'm glad to see all your adventures in a 172. I have a 172M and it's a great little plane- you really show what it's capable of.
PRO TIP: Stay away from the sponsor's daughter.
hahaha
nice 👍
Words of wisdom!!! Something some of us learn from a mis-spent youth (ahem..except mine was the base commanders daughter...bad move)..lol
I've learned that in hard way. Let's just say I won't ever be able to fly left seat on the a320.
Too late! He even risked life and limb by hugging the propeller.
Cute couple out for an afternoon flight. It will be memorable for Peyton for sure. You were so nice to explain everything and she couldn’t stop smiling!!!😊
Excellent video and you did a great job describing what you were doing and why.
I like overlay along with the other views. Great video!
She was happy and even smiled. She would be a great pilot - asks lots of questions and learns. Thank you for the video - take care and be safe. 'Spin'
The best aviation channel: Aviation101 Cort:agree Love Matt
ibid. The Alaska videos were breathtaking.
Yea
Great video and a good opportunity for you to stay proficient with IFR approaches. I learn something from each of your videos. Thank you.
One of the best aviation channels ever! Thank you so much Josh for taking the time to create these! As a student pilot, it’s so great to have access to your content. Keep inspiring ✈️
Thank you!! Don’t stop chasing your dreams!
Two nice people having a fun day - doesn't get any better :-)
Great video! Thank you
Josh is a smooth operator and I’m not talking about flying the plane
She certainly did ask a lot of (very sensible) questions. Great video, Josh.
As usual, good information. Great segment. I will be relocating to Florida in September and would love to meet up with you and do some flying. Keep me in mind.
Another good one! Keep em coming.
I like the overlay up on this one.
Thanks! I think it helps understand whats going on a lot more effectively than anything else.
Peyton was a real trooper. My wife would have been totally freaked out after the second turbulence bump
Trying to get back in the air after decades This person is way beyond fantastic he makes it look like just another rainy day ( and he is right sunshine no clouds no wind then we would fly )
Awesome as always!
Excellent!
Thanks Josh I treasure your videos for safety purposes ✈ 🛩
Excellent video as always! all the information given, it is precise it is a superb professional video. Thank you with the plan on the right side detailed exceptional. Thank you . I wish you a very good continuation.
Very good job at landing...nice and smooth!
I wanna hear more about these work flights you do! Didn’t know you were doing commercial stuff would love to know more.
Awesome video, I’m currently training at PNS right now!
Good instruction Josh.
Nice dude love it
Great video as always!!!!
Hi again Josh, cruising along with the breeze. Second time watching. She's pretty and a curious trainee. Keep them coming and I'll keep on watching. As always enjoy the scenery. Over and out
Good video Josh! Looking forward to more. However, can’t say I agree with both of you leaning on the prop.....give it the respect it deserves!
I must say the content has been getting better the past few videos. You’ve finally figured out why we become pilots 😜
As always....good video!
I just keep learning with you on that last moment before touchdown. You never, ever force the plane in to the ground. Great landings.
My feedback: you are instructing one beautiful girl after another. Now I know why you have no time to instruct guys.
No kidding, looking at the videos recommended at the right is cuties on all Av101 vids.
Easier on the eyes. :-)
He knows how to get you horny bastards to watch so he’ll make more money.
hahaha nice 👍
nice to see you in my neck of the woods, literally in my backyard
Love your content!
Great video, Josh. That looked like a $$ landing, considering the wind.
Very diverse flight! I like your philosophy.
Nice flight and she is easy on the eyes!
great as always!
Josh you're my inspiration
Great fundamental tutorial. She was definitely eager to learn.
very nice and relaxed company you had ;-)
Have shot many approaches into NAS Pensacola in same, or far worse weather than this. Always keeps you on the ball.
I love you’re videos! You inspired me to start my own channel! It awesome you and your dad get to fly together. My dad is scared to death of flying so that’s one thing we don’t get to share together.
You never know your dad may give it a shot one day!
I'm sure your Dad will come around, especially if he see his own son or daughter pursuing it!
Aviation101 maybe one day. I won’t hold it against him if not we enjoy other things like fishing together. My mom will fly with me though.
my dad never got in my plane let alone fly with me... His loss....
Ray Bankes Its not for everyone. My dad has always been afraid of flying so I respect that and understand that I too have fears that I want other to respect. I still think it would be fun to get him to experience flying with me once.
I'm training for IFR, cant wait to do some flying like this. Looks awesome
how much 🛩️ gel liss
I’m out of Pensacola. I’ll have to schedule a few flights when I start my PPL soon if your ever back in the area.
Peyton was like...nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile...
Great flight !! I would love to fly in IMC just like that with someone----- but I'm not IFR qualified. Thank you for another Great video :):)
Outstanding video! Hopefully she wasn't overwhelmed with all of the IFR info. I got my PPL later in life and glad I was able to focus just on the VFR portion. Decided to just be a proficient VFR pilot as I have no commercial aspirations. When faced with IMC, I will always delay or divert, but your video's are always overflowing with great info. Just an aside, I always ask for hood time during my BFR's and fly safety as often as possible for the IFR folks, to keep sharp on basic instrument skills/procedures.
She's beaming the whole time!
Josh, I liked how you kept the iPad with ADSB on the screen so that we could also see the other aircraft.
