I worked with a kid once who was a pathological liar. I’ve never met anyone like it. At the time I actually listed the things he had claimed to have done & the people he knew & it was ridiculous. I knew a guy who liked this one girl, but she liked one of the guys in his friend group. He got really jealous and decided to get rid of the guy with the help of 2 of his friends. They took him out 1 night, in his car, and while on the road they just stabbed him and dumped his body on the sidewalk, but he was still alive. He woke up and stumbled onto the road and saw a car coming his way. He didn't realize it was them coming back to check if he was still alive so the jealous guy, who was driving the car, went full speed and the car hit him so hard he went under and got dragged until they hit a speed hump and the body dislodged. They parked the car back at the guy's apartment with blood all over the front and underneath and just left. I used to hang with these guys up past midnight just smoking and chilling talking about about life and stuff. They were pretty cool at the time, none of them had any charges or violent behavior but they just one day decided to kill. Worst part is that it wasn't even the jealous guy who stabbed him it was the other 2 who had nothing to gain from this, but ultimately they all killed him. The 2 friends got a suspended sentence and an 8 year sentence and get this, the dude who plotted this all, who ran him over, was acquitted of the murder charges and walked free

For the record, "psychopath" and "sociopath" are kinda loosely defined. The more clinical, DSM term is Antisocial Personality Disorder, characterized by low arousal in the face of things that would make most people nervous or otherwise averse. For example, most folks try to avoid fights because they're averse to getting hurt - or hurting someone else. Most people don't steal because they fear consequences to themselves and/or the victims. Someone with APD won't have that nagging nervousness or fear about consequences - if they feel like doing something, they do it. It's largely a genetic predisposition, and much more common in males. Curiously enough, it tends to correspond with conversion disorder (hypochondria, essentially) in females who are related to males with APD, so there's a social component.
@studogable3 жыл бұрын
So what can we do with this information? What happens to these people that we diagnose?
@datner763 жыл бұрын
He was never an Antisocial Personality Disordered.. APD people sure are scary though. The general public usually misdefines APD and thinks an APD person avoids social contact. In fact, APD are usually highly socially for the purpose of creating havoc and and making the human environment as chaotic as possible. I knew a guy in college. The prof called him “Bobbo” and often embraced him. The prof gave the class the MMPI one day and after looking at “Bobbo’s” test results, never spoke to “Bobbo” again.

I worked with a kid once who was a pathological liar. I’ve never met anyone like it. At the time I actually listed the things he had claimed to have done & the people he knew & it was ridiculous. He had no need whatsoever to lie about anything, it made no difference to me, but did so almost every time he spoke. It was really weird.
you know how hes doing now?
I know the feeling. My friend once told me he met and made a recording with Miley Cyrus haha. It’s safe to say I just went along with it, but non surprisingly we’re no longer friends. Especially after he lied about having cancer. Crazy the things people will lie about.
Dude! I’ve worked with someone exactly the same and I thought to myself, “I have never met anyone like this before in my life” because it was just downright ridiculous every. Single. Time you would talk to the guy. Could not take anything he said seriously. Kind of funny really. I would just go with his stories acting like I believed them because it was entertaining 🤣

For those saying they've heard the story, keep in mind in Joe's world he's just recording a conversation, it's kind of stupid if he was to not tell someone a story because he's said it before

I know you need to be an officer to fly in the military and to be an officer you need a bachelor's. We went along with it and day after day we kept caught him up with more lies. Some people do have crazy lives. And experience what most do not.
We all have that guy.. my liar talks about stabbing people, fighting with wild animals like cougars and bears while hiking/fishing.. he even shot up his own car and tried to say he was in a gang/bar fight.. The only problem is that his dumb ass forgets he tells the story, and by the 6th time he's retold the story, all the details are rearranged to the point where its obvious.. 'Some' people are just like that I guess, there's nothing you can really do. He's been called out and gotten in so many fist fights over his lies, so he has to know something is wrong with him, he just doesnt care.

“He thought he’d tell everybody” joe Rogan telling everyone

So what can we do with this information? What happens to these people that we diagnose?
He was never an Antisocial Personality Disordered.. APD people sure are scary though. The general public usually misdefines APD and thinks an APD person avoids social contact. In fact, APD are usually highly socially for the purpose of creating havoc and and making the human environment as chaotic as possible. I knew a guy in college. The prof called him “Bobbo” and often embraced him. The prof gave the class the MMPI one day and after looking at “Bobbo’s” test results, never spoke to “Bobbo” again.
@@datner76 you first need an accurate diagnosis. Hint: There are some drugs in this world that turn people evil.
