Ajax was a great team but the inter defence did two big mistakes, after all the final was in Holland and all people were happy...
Why did they make mistakes you think. Defenses that ajax played sooner or later got overpowered and destroyed. Ajax was not Just beautiful football. Ajax in essence had a almost predatory character. The controlled every aspect. Technique. Hard. Sublime. Organised. Constant attack. This also michels and cruyff. In military terms cruyff was a destroyer. The Total football doctrine at its best performed produced relentless pressure. And the constant changing of position of defenders and attackers overpowered oppononents as well. Inter was i think a difficult match for cruyff because of ultra stiff marking but yeah...two goals.

No disrespect to Oriali... he did what he could but was simply overwhelmed. Oriali lost all the decisive duels to Cruyff, therefore Ajax - Inter 2-0 (Cruyff 2x). It was a great Inter team though... many icons in there.
