Honestly it looks like it had legs but they were removed by something if it was supposed to move like a skull crawler then why does it have a hip like all the other xenos instead of a tail connected to the torso It has leg joints in the hip I'm curious on what happened to it
I think the Developers went back to the original concepts of Space Jockeys. The ones where they actually grew out the walls, chairs and machinery and not human like.
Definitely a better design and concept for the space jockeys in my opinion. This new xenomorph its awesome!

@@Realscience1922 They don't even have to necessarily be hybrids, they could be different unknown castes entirely independent of hosts.
Love that. I always view the Space Jockeys and Engineers as two different species, with the latter viewing the Jockeys as THEIR gods.

Someone pointed out that it looks like it's still in its "Chest Burster" or larva phase. Imagine this thing growing even larger, and sprouting legs, turning into some sort of Kaiju tier Xenomorph.

@@overlordcrumbThey sorta look like Space Jockeys, But then again thats why this was soo amazing! We don’t even know for starters if this creature ever made it to its final stage, and the chest it came out of, there were 3 of them, and only one which we assumed to be the Titan Xeno, So in all honesty maybe it never made it to the final stage.
Definitely looks like the devs are keeping the Space Jockeys and the Engineers a separate species. This has always been my head canon.

@@General..Grievous Prometheus established they are the same, which na one of the negative points of the film. I rather they stay separate, be like what Shaw said in the movie “who made the Engineers”
@@General..Grievous The Space Jockeys are the Engineers in their version of a space suit. Likely some kind of life support suit meant to maintain the pilot of the ship over long periods. It remains a most defining trait that their technology barely resembles technology as we understand it.
That Hydra needs more than just a Siege Tank to be dealt with.
An opposing queen's broodling attack will do the job.

In the books there was a lot of telepathy going on. This fit right in with stories like billie and Wilks. I would love to see combat synths expanded on.. the were my favorite part of AVP2 and 2010 games.
You should get a hold of and read the comic series Aliens Labyrinth then. Lots of cool telepathy stuff there. As well as the most horrific stuff I've seen in the Aliens universe thus far. 10/10 highly recommend

@@rickl.7084 I think Newt and Hicks were copy-written (or the comic and paperback tie in writers didn't want to pay to use Biehn's and Henn's image and names) so they had to 'create' news names for essentially the same characters but on a different character path.
For those who are looking forward to buy this game: it is not an easy game, has a mixed of Darkest Dungeons and stealth is an absolute must in order to progress without your own frustrations making planning and commanding your marines worse.

That thing is scary. The fact that it's just a torso with arms and a tail and crawling is creepy.

@@bruticaloz2627 I feel like that's already happened in the comics once before. And if not, then yes, that would be awesome. Something big enough to grab powerloaders and toss them like an empty soda can.
This thing already classifies as a kaiju. And the fact that this is essentially in the baby stage of its cycle begs the question on how horrifying it would be in adult form.

A great addition to the alien game franchise. Shame the end level came a little quick though.

So I don’t think so. This shit went way too Quake4 than ‘ALIEN’. And no amount of APCs or pulse rifles or fun game mechanics is gonna nostalgia me out of this ridiculousness

@@SoldierOfFate Or a well planned ambush with heavy fire power. I'm almost picturing a predator version of a boar hunt where they have to flush it out of a nest and have an extremely skilled hunter shoot or stab it in the weakspot.

I'm so happy for you guys! I saw the trailer drop weeks, maybe months ago at this point. But being a strategy game I decided to pass on it. Glad little clips like this inspire other to give it a try tho!
This game is a masterpiece, i was scared at the beginning because a strategic Alien game… but finally it was very good

Actually this is my favourite Marines vs Aliens game. AVP 2 was amazing but i wanted to play in squads yet still feel the horror and tension. This game finally gave that. Probabyl this is the best format to do Marines vs Aliens.

Queen Mother also more or less created a cult in the Earth War comics which this game also did. This giant Xeno seems like a mixture of Queen Mother & the giant Destroyer Xenomorph. Possibly a Queen Mother from an Engineer host.

What's the difference between a queen mother and a regular queen?
@negativemaster2117 Beyond just sheer size, the Queen Mother in the comics was the ruler of the entire species. There was only ever supposed to be one, located on the xenomorph homeworld, that was telepathically in charge of every xenomorph in the galaxy. Officially I don't think they've been recanonized yet, though given I believe the empress was so it's possible they'll bring back the queen mother

Some people think the xeno is not mature but I think it is. The hosts did not have legs so it would not; it would be designed to kill the host creature and be based off that host creature.
You are absolutely right. Before the appearance of the Titan Xeno scene, one of the space jockeys has a fist sized (their fist) hole in the left side of the ribcage/chest.

@@JackassJunior627 Titan is human artificial creation never played game feel like human trying mix Space Jockey and Xenomorph dna using space jockey technology.
This game felt like when i was a kid in the 90s and 00s and after watching all the Alien movies i was craving for more and found so many cool Alien elseworld stories in books which stayed true to the lore but expended on them just a tad bit to be original and scary. This has to be my favourite Alien game next to AVP 2.

I have been desensitized to xenomorphs for quite some time, after my first and second time watching Alien and Aliens the xeno simply wasn't scary to me anymore. So this game can have the credit of making a xenomorph that can actually scare me.
This scene is very Lovecraft and I like it.
Reminds me of a scene from a movie called Attack of the Sabretooth.

Predators aren't canon in an alien universe, that's it, these are separate universes, any AvP is not canon.

You beat the game I'm glitched to where it sais kill guardians to unlock bulk doors. Is there a fix or do I gotta restart it all over ?
The only fix to the several game breaking bugs in this game is load a save before the objective was given to you. For some reason it helps to completely exit the game and boot it back up before you do this, not sure why this helps but it does.
I got stuck too. Doors wouldn't unlock couldn't progress at all and the last save game was from 3 hours earlier. I deleted it after that. Doesn't matter how good a game is. I ain't dealing with that shit.

That Xeno was huge and looked very dangerous above the 'nominal waste area' IE New versions of Alien Body parts...the tongue/tentacle/mouth was quite a combo of dangerous. But? Below the waste was the tail that was vaguely like a snake body with weird cosmetic details; that was NOT useful for the Alien. It was like its upper body was all functioning properly for its species...but its tail was paralyzed and not functional at all. I get the motivation as far as animation and programming; if the full body was not slowed down by that useless tail it would be way too fast for the Human Soldiers to run away from. Also rendering the motion and full maneuverability of that Alien with a functional tail exactly as useful to it as a Snake Body is to a Snake? Cost more without really making a game that is better to play because this seemed like a Cut Scene not game-play. Overall despite some criticism; I think that was an excellent Cut Scene for a game I never watched any game-play examples of...thumbs up.
It’s been suggested that the creature was still a partial ‘chestburster’ and was in the process of evolving. It’s taking longer than the average one during to the immense size and the energy needed to do it. It’s a plausible suggestion because I can see ‘hips’ at the bottom of its torso and it’s probably supposed to grow legs there eventually.
@@sadaasdafa8635 That was possibly a 'partial chestburster' ? I like that theory because then I can laugh and call it the Ugliest Caterpillar Ever Imagined. Also then the tail that does not function makes sense as that huge creature is an 'Infant' If it gets four times bigger upon adulthood Culthulu might call it cute. (Not being serious)

@@sadaasdafa8635 Yes, you can see tiny "hind legs" like wiggling stumps on those hips that are grapping the ground but too small to lift the hips off the ground.

No, much different. In fact I believe the Developers went to the original designs of the Alien Engineers, the ones HR Giger made in his artwork.
I think their intended to be space jockeys. The official RPG has introduced the idea that the space jockey (The Alien pilot from the first film) and the engineers are in fact two different species. This game seems to confirm this is the case.

Always wonder why trained marines just stand in place and shoot at a creature's armor until they inevitably get side-swiped. This isn't turn-based combat.
This game has great graphics but the acting and animating is kind of in the uncanny valley type of look for some reason to me, I can’t tell if it’s the way they are emoting or maybe it’s the eyes but the human characters don’t look as good as the xenos
