Hi mate, iv found 2 sources for torque specs and both say 10 ± 1 N·m → +80˚ to +85˚ which might be close to 21nm as quoted in your video. Can you confirm 21nm is correct or the 10 ± 1 N·m → +80˚ to +85˚ quoted from both online workshop manuals i have found. For a 2007 ML triton 4m41. Thanks

Very helpful....clear and to the point. At what km should i be replacing the injectors on my ML triton 3.2 diesel? Would I be noticing any tell tale signs that they are on the way out?

Hi Karen, I'm not a diesel specialist but my point of view would be that Injectors have internal components that wear due to consistent usage similar to spark plugs in a petrol engine. There is needle & seats that wear, Electromagnets that are commonly known to fail etc. I have been accustomed to Denso injectors that are used in the Toyota D4D engine whether it be a V8 or 4 cylinder that recommendations are made for replacement at every 200,000kms. I have been driving a Triton with approximately 250,000kms on it and I have not replaced the injectors yet but at the same time, Mitsubishi electronics in my vehicle are excellent. It appears to so a learn o the odd occasion to compensate for the air to fuel ratio (ie- The air intake becomes clogged more & more due to the EGR) so it "self learns" to accommodate for this. The signs I would be looking for is poor fuel consumption & black smoke. Highly recommend if you replace injectors then do an intake carbon clean so that the computer is basically back to standard. In the video I did not do the intake clean as it was not requested. The carbon build up was not excessive but if cleaned can vastly improve the engines efficiency. In my Triton, a simple cleaning of the Mass Air Flow sensor greatly improved my fuel efficiency & smoke output. It's not hard to do and I would probably recommend it on every service. Hope this helps

Great vid mate. I have a 3.2L td ml triton I think I need to new fuel injectors, its blowing white smoke and misfires while accelerating and can also smell diesel. What are your thoughts on using second hand injectors? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Drew, I would start with checking your Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor to see if its dirty on the small resistor looking piece. You can purchase specific cleaning spray cans for the MAF at you local parts store. This is the cheapest & quickest check to do first. Secondly, I would check to see how blocked your intake manifold is (after the EGR) to see if that's excessively blocked or not. You can also do a "Small quantity" relearn for the injectors with a quality scan tool to see if that helps at all. Last of all, I personally would not purchase second hand injectors if they require replacement. I recently had a 4D56 engine that was pre-detonating/pinging under heavy load on one cylinder which caused a puff of white smoke (burning oil) momentarily and new injectors fixed it - the Small quantity learn helped it for half a day or so. Remember to code your injectors if you get to the point where you have to replace them

Hey mate. I have a 4m41 in a ml triton. Removing the rocker cover today it has caught on the back two injectors and broken the grey plug off them. Stupid bloody mistake I made. I now need to replace the injectors. Any idea about reprogramming the ecu for new ones? Any help would be great. Regards Steve

You will need a suitable scan tool to code the injectors. The start of the video should assist with the programming

Hey mate, great video! how long did this take from start to finish? Have a triton with a fuel leak code P0093, we’ve replaced the suction control valve, but engine light still coming on after a few kms and goes into limp mode until the fault is cleared then drive fine for like 20-30km then engine light back on. Had any experience with this? Should next step be removing and checking for a faulty injector?

First of all, if you have replaced the suction control valve make sure you initialize it via special function in the scan tool (If applicable). Also, you could have excess leak off from one or more of your injectors. Check to see how much fuel is coming from the leak off line from the injectors. Another possibility could be the over pressure valve on the rail if yours is common rail. Can't remember how long it took sorry

Grazie. Era da tempo che cercavo un video su come togliere il coperchio punterie. Voglio cambiarmi il pattino tendicatena superiore e regolare le valvole. Ora capisco perché in officina mi han chiesto 250euro, ci son molte parti sda togliere. Una domanda: quando si rimette il coperchio, ci son delle guarnizioni da cambiare in cima agli iniettori? Grazie ancora

Hi Rezosful, thanks for watching my video & glad it helped you. Yes there are seals that go in the rocker cover where the injectors are. So you should get the main gasket & eight injector seals (4 for the tops of the injectors & 4 for the injector lines). I would also hope that you get new rubbers in the kit for the bolts that hold the rocker cover on

Now I know what i have to order. I saw that you also removed some horizontal screws on the side of the intake manifold, to remove the cover must also be removed those? Thank you

@@rezosful2072 The horizontal screws that you seen me remove would be the bolts holding the injector lines on. The injector lines have to be moved or removed to take the cover off
