The King of Kung Fu, aka the King of Sanda! The official title, which literally only a few manage to achieve, the best of the best drummers in the Middle Kingdom. And the more valuable that the only non-Chinese who was able to conquer it in furious battles was our compatriot Muslim Salikhov.
The five-time world wushu-sanda champion in 2006 at a tournament in Beijing killed all local favorites and won this coveted and honorary title, becoming the most titled wushu-sanda fighter in the world. In 2011, he decided to test his strength in mixed martial arts and to this day he performs in the UFC Octagon, delighting the audience with incredibly beautiful and effective strikes.
There was a period in Salikhov's career when he competed in the M-1 Global rage and today we will watch his fight, which took place in November 2014 at the M-1 Challenge 53 tournament in Beijing. At that time, Muslim's record consisted of 5 wins in 6 fights and the opponent was a match for him. Brazilian fighter Victor Skoteski, nicknamed Kratos, had exactly the same record, he preferred to fight in the rack and most of his victories were won by knockout. Spectators were expecting a fight between two seasoned drummers.

  • The nerve of some people to say kung fu doesn't work is laughable 😅. Its like any other martial art, a punch is a punch and a kick is a kick. Muslim proves this in his fights.

    • A kick from Muay Thai is not comparable to a kick from Kenpo - Muay Thai has its own roundhouse kick. It has a more fluid rotation, faster motion, and more power with hip and legs. Tae Kwon Do primarily focuses on kicking with the legs, the hands serving as backup. Practitioners defend themselves with a series of kicks, jumps, and spins. Nope - a kick is not a kick

  • Kung Fu ?? I didn't see any Kung Fu going on. A lot of bip bam and bash however. All looks the same when the rubber meets the road. Kung Fu was just the vehicle that got him there.
