  • Footwork really is one of those things everyone should put more thought in. The greats all have amazing footwork, it really helps setting up all the right angles. Great video!

    • @@TjDillashaw1 the pb is you don't find someone willing to teach it to you that easily. i've never been taught how to control the distance, how to enter and exit safely, how to get angles (and what it is exactly) etc. just as an example, I felt on a video of you and some other teacher whose name I can't remember now, teaching the guys for TUF 25. I learnt more in this video than the last year of training, and without that video I would'nt know those stuff. sometimes it's not people not putting efforts but not having access to the knowledge. that being said thanks for the share.

    • It's annoying how so many people who train seem to almost completely ignore it. I can't think of anything else in martial arts with more subtlety or a higher ceiling for perfection. I know too many people who do things like hitting pads with straight punches while standing so close that they should be throwing hooks or clinching. They never make small adjustments with their feet (which just about any good fighter does constantly) so they constantly practice throwing shots in the wrong ranges during drills and then wonder why they can't land anything in sparring.

      @bunklypeppz@bunklypeppz4 жыл бұрын
    • @@bunklypeppz Did you read Owl's comment, he's right. If people aren't even told where to look, it's not a fair expectation to compare to those receiving top notch instruction. Not all training is equal and not everyone in the world has all of the correct circumstances align at the same time to get high quality training. Not everyone in the dark is an idiot, or lazy or lacks work ethic. Just imagine all of the things you've been 'neglecting' just because you don't know any better or are you in particular just above that? It's ridiculous to compare 'too many people' to 'good fighters'. There's a huge gap in investment, resources and quality of training there. if they're wondering why it's because they've not been pushed in the right direction, maybe instead of insulting them, you could probably go and help them.

  • i like to visualize punches being thrown at me and then visualize moving my feet reacting to the shot. its one of the ways you can work while resting. i also think its really important to single out every strike you throw and dissect ways you yourself can get countered and then drill the defense in sparring
