With the acquisition of Warner Bros… I’m almost 100% positive they were TOLD to make a crossover movie and given a ton of money. My prediction is that they will look at it compared to other crossovers. And if it’s profitable they MAY throw them extra change to make its stand alone movie.
It's good to hear that RvB wasn't forgotten about, but it's a shame that the show has faded so much. RvB used to be driven by passion and was so integral to Rooster Teeth, the company's name even originating from the series. But now it continually feels like an afterthought to RWBY that only continues on out of obligation (especially contractual). I hope when season 19 finally does roll around, it comes back better than ever, but I can't say I'm too hopeful after Zero, Family Shatters and the focus on PSAs. If nothing else, I hope the new season at least respects its characters more than the past few seasons have without just rehashing the Blood Gulch Chronicles for the umpteenth time.
Personally I think RvB has gone in way longer than it needed to.

Something tells me the movie only exists so discovery can see how well the rwby brand will do outside the core rt fan base And if the movie fails well rt might be on the chopping block

@@icecontrol1 Yeah RT being on the chopping block is definitely a reach even if the movie failed. But it definitely is another way to see how RWBY does as a brand once outside just it’s core fanbase. Like from a business standpoint it is smart. DC fans may like it and come to see what RWBY is about.

They truly fucked up firing Joel for what we can assume was his political views that weren't even that bad. But it's rt they haven't made a good idea for years
The crossover movie feels like exists as a mutual partnership to show Warner Bros that DC and Roosterteeth are still worth keeping around. And yes, agreed, I would have liked a Team STRQ movie taking place when they were all together, perhaps ending at their graduation from Beacon or if they wanted to make it a tragedy, end at their breakup with Summer’s death.

I was one of the many people hoping for a for team STRK movie, though they would follow Dbs, Jjk and Demon slayer, and have canon movies where they can just go ham on lore, action, and character moments but alas, Twas not to be. But them bring back Rvb? I’m reasonably skeptical, the show seems more like a desperate cash grab than the passion project it once was. I’m worried the writers are going to ignore the criticisms of seasons 16 -18, believing they can just carry the season on nostalgia, ruining characters’ growth over previous seasons just to do it again. If it’s to be a purely gag season, I just hope the comedy lands unlike in zero

I hate to be pessimistic about all this news (along with the Ice Queendom anime) but I feel like this is RT's last ditch effort to prove to WB that they're still relevant - especially after all the issues RT have faced in the past few years. Considering the new head of WB is gutting an insane amount of wasted fat in the company, I'd be surprised if he would let RT proceed as they have been without some kind of intervention. Part of me hopes I'm wrong, whilst another part of me feels like this was a long time coming... Edit: Also, I have to mention that WB considered selling RT not too long ago like they did with Crunchyroll so RT already know they're on thin ice.
If the anime does good I think he may just close down RT instead of selling them. No one is really looking to buy them so he isn’t going to get much money out of it; if the franchise in others hands does well he will probably just have the Japanese handle it from now on.

I agree with everything you said lol, Always love your sense of humor XD. Justice League Movie I already mentioned was an obvious WB move so I'm 0 hyped for it, the game looks fun but a bit weird to see it getting released after Atlas went to hell in Vol8. And last but not least I REALLY hope we see Raven again, Yang-Raven story was very rushed and felt very inconclusive so I hope we get more with that. I also wouldn't mind more on Summer Rose as well.

Just like with Caboose, Qrow's voice lines in paladins made me fully accept that my brain won't be able to adapt to the changes. It also has me worried what their recast of Roman sounds like in IQ and if he'll lose his unique charm like the others.

I'm honestly quite irritated that they are doing a justice league crossover movie rather than doing what alot of fans wanted and doing a team STRQ movie
I'm expecting CRWBY is going to pull the time Skip cliche. If time passes differently on the Island it allows them to without much effort... Increase the treat of Salem if she's conquered some of the world, maybe giving some reason to Ruby's call as a rallying cry or something. Avoid dealing with the aftermath of the character's actions in Atlas as the refugees they dumped will have been sorted. Age Oscar up to make him better for "Rose Garden" for the shippers. Accelerate Ren and Nora's relationship off-screen.
Lots of people are theorizing about a time difference between worlds. It seems likely that in Ever After the aging process is longer and once, they return to Remnant everyone else may be a bit older or perhaps a significant amount. Hopefully not that much because I don't know if a time travel scenario to alter the past is the way I want to go. I am a fan of "Rose Garden," so I do like the idea of allowing Oscar to age closer to Ruby's, even though I think it's fine already. If this does happen, imagine a humor moment where team RWBY reacts to Oscar now being taller.
The impact of Penny's death on Ruby 🤔 if it's anything like last time 😑 it'll be one sad moment then played off as a joke later
It'll be like the v7 scene where she falls down and cries a little once she finds out.
Penny will be brought back mark my words. Somewhere near endgame of this show. Pietro like any father will have little issue giving his life so his daughter can have a full one. Especially with the knowledge that she can be made real.
I’m glad that they at least got Caboose back. His new voice seems different but I’m sure that we might get used to it after a while. Oh and Lopez got a new voice in Family Shatters

@@Cs-cp6voIt's mostly character interaction with a sitcom vibe with each episode being isolated from each other. I feel it was RvB: Zero was missing to make it feel more like RvB. I'd say it's worth checking out at the very least, maybe try watching the first few episodes.

So Lopez was supposed to die just like church and Vic did. Well rooster teeth really want to ignore burnie huh.

I’m gonna be honest, a crossover movie with RWBY would still be great, I’m excited for it.
I definitely remember Burnie's backup audio comments, and frankly I'm surprised they never came up after Joel exited the company.
So basically, this years RTX did not fill you with much enthusiasm. I certainly don't feel it given what you disclosed.
Honestly the situation with the Vacuo group should probably be handled in another novel which would let Volume 9 be all about Team RWBY's group. As for any sort of goal Team RWBY could try locating/rescuing the civilians who fell ahead of them from Cinder's attack, if any of those guys survived long enough I mean.
Chances are The stuff with the vacuo group will be more entertaining than whatever happens with rwby. so putting all of it in a book that people won't care to read would be a waste.
14:13 Unfortunately, not only did we have _multiple_ references to Summer Rose in the last arcs, but the way she has been implimented into the story has been _clunky_ as Hek. What does not help is that RT has shown from their track record to produce bright and shiny works... That are executed poorly. And to praise Season 9 for "Slowing down"... Well, RWBY Season 4 slowed down... We all know how _that_ trainwreck turned out.
Im SUPER excited for the Qposkets and have been hunting them down since they were anounced (damn u EU figure availability). Love to finally have some figures of their V4 outfits. Im still incredibly dissapointed AX got episode 4, theres no excuse for that?? Give BOTH cons episode 4 if you want AX to have it anyway….. dub is cool and all, but ep 4 is where it all begins to go crazy and we all wanna see that. I really hope they didnt cut James and Clover out of The game, since they talked about a complete story revamp and they were nowhere in the new footage 🙈 the game ifself looks real fun though, the switching between characters seems very cool. As someone whos just not into DC… i dont care much about the movie. Hope Qrows in there so I have someone cool to watch, thats it really…… if u make a movie, ANIMATE THE BOOKS!!! They are AMAZING stories and CANON. Still have way to many theories about volume 9 haha, but please Raven portal ❤️😂 Or at least make Yang see Raven wasnt completely wrong/bad (Also James being the only one who heard “Ruby was killed” is a thing and ill die on that hill) I REALLY hope the makeshift colab will give us some merch of lesser known characters like they told us it would. Ace ops, JAMES, villains, please guys ill throw so much money at it ❤️❤️
No one was asking for a that RWBY crossover movie, certainly not DC fans and RWBY fans just want Volume 9. They bold face lied about the reasons Volume 9 was delayed and Volume 9 is going to suffer because of something no one wanted and will most likely bomb. They need to concentrate on making a quality product rather than ringing as much out of it as they can as quickly as possible. Two years of the volume being delayed I could deal with if it meant improved writing and animation, but it looks like it’s going to be the same old same old.
That concept about having team STRQ reunite as a b-story for volume 9 actually sounds like the best b-story idea someone could ever imagine for RWBY. And I think there is a fair possibility that'll happen, but if it does I can't honestly say I have high hopes for the execution considering how they developed Qrow over these past few seasons
Well I found this video to be informative to say the least. I was surprise with the crossover, a friend of mine told me they were doing it. At first I thought maybe it wasn’t true or crazy but when I watched this, it surprised me. I agree with a lot of comments and think that it makes sense and with what you said that Warner was the one who took initiative and Rooster Teeth went along with it. I’m hoping this crossover can allow better things to come along like a standalone movie or perhaps other Rwby movies. I do like season 9’s trailer and really hoping they focus more on the characters. I use to love watching rwby to watch rwby, but now I watch it because to see where it goes. I’m hoping to spark that love for the show again with this upcoming season because of the potential it has! It has a lot that I am looking forward too, especially with Neo, Jaune, and hopefully Yang. On the note with RvB, I really wish they would just stop the show and work on like a new series as a whole because I am one who thinks it should’ve ended at season 13. Granted, I liked 16 and 17 for Donut and Washington, but it feels like they are keeping a series alive that should’ve ended a long time ago. I wish they did something new like maybe focus on the project free lancers that did survive (like the trio we saw in season 14) or perhaps a journey of a singular character in the halo universe. I don’t know, something more new that can be in the universe still. Definitely not like Zero though. I loved the video and thank you for this!
All I care about Caboose is that my precocious MK 5 helmet wearing boi is back, and hopefully Rooster Teeth gives a reason why Caboose got a new voice or maybe overtime the new VA nails that signature voice. While for Lopez, actually sounds more robotic for me which I am not even mad.

For the Volume 9 thing... I beg of you, Rooster Teeth. Please have that conversation or at least a flashback to Summer for Ruby's identity arc, or whatever you call it. If you want Ruby to somehow have changes, have something (or in this case, someone) who can do that. Aka her freaking MOM. Who's DEAD.
I hope CRWBY watches this because I wanna see some raven and yang conversations. I also wanna see some stuff with team STRQ and all them coming back together or whatever. (Without summer obviously) it would be really interesting seeing them all trying to figure stuff out. I also wanna see how Raven reacts to the whole “yang might be dead” thing. We all know summers death affected her a lot and we all know she cares about yang. So it would be nice to see her reaction to that thought.
In order for Raven and Yang to have conversations Raven needs to actually appear again in the series. I’m hoping maybe next volume we’ll get to see her reaction to Yangs “death”. We know deep down she really cares about her.

I'm definitely interested with where they go in RWBY Vol. 9. I'd say some of the characters could certainly use some self-reflection at this point, espicially Ruby, Blake, Yang, and Neo. But, like EruptionFang said, CRWBY makes nice concepts but their actual execution leaves a lot to be desired. I'm curious to see where they go from here. I'm mildly interested in the Justice League crossover since I enjoyed the Batman/TMNT crossover. As for RvB, still not having much hope for its future. Caboose's new voice sounds like the same guy who played him in Death Battle, and it just feels wrong. It sounds way too different from the original voice, to the point that it doesn't even feel like the same character anymore. I don't mind Lopez's new voice too much, though it sadly indicates Burnie's completely split from the series. Still don't like how they handwaved Wash's brain injury, basically rendering the events of Seasons 15-17 completely meaningless. Not a fan of the Halo Infinite models, so I'm not sure if I'll like how the characters will look in it. I still believe the Chorus Trilogy was the best place to end the series, especially with what came after, but I'll check out where they decide to take the characters next. And if I don't like it, I'll simply tune out.

I'll say this: if they have ability customization like they do in Shantae, where you collect gems and upgrade Shantae's arsenal in the shop, I will love this game. Imagine using Ruby's semblance to speedrun through a stage like Shantae using Risky's boots on Pirates Curse. YES! 😂
Caboose and Lopez new casting in my opinion is okay in universe the explanation is Lopez got an update and caboose is getting older.

You know people don’t change their voice drastically from adulthood onwards. Sure when you’re on your final days and extremely old your voice may be a bit crispier but that’s it.

Admittedly, yeah, I'm pretty sure the rwby x justice league movie is a deal from Daddy Warner. Also makes sense it's not with the comic because WB is already doing Battle of the Supersons and it wouldn't be a good idea to do ANOTHER Starro plot.
Sorry for being skeptical, but I'm not entirely excited about RWBY V9...After what they done to the characters, I'm not sure how they gonna recover from this...
Better than that abomination they allowed to spawn into existence on HBO last November. I'm planning to watch the new Volume, and catch up on the ones I skipped over, out of spite.

The RWBY Justice League announcement almost topped the Artifact announcement
I understand I may be in the minority on this but I’m excited for the RWBY/Justice League crossover. As a father of two daughters I am always looking for things we can enjoy together. I’ve always been a comic book fan and when doing research RWBY looked like it could be something we could enjoy together. I’m happy to say we all loved the series and can’t wait for more. The action of RWBY has gotten my girls to check out Justice League and DC animation since RWBY and JL has led to shared interests and quality time together we’re very excited for it!
I can't wait for Arrowfell or RWBY volume 9.

Considering how the last trilogy had the Reds and Blues deal with "gods" and time travel, shall we start placing bets that this new season/trilogy will have them screw around with the multiverse and interact with RWBY and Genlock? Actually don't bother answering that; I think RT blew a good chunk of their budget on RvB Zero and whatever RWBY 9 turns into.
Thank you for covering and recapping RTX. Shocking that RTX and Anime Expo was at the same time but showed different clips or episodes. i think mayybe its because the writers and producers were at Anime Expo were there and had full permission to show it. Still, it sucks that RTX never got that green light. I think it's odd there is more RWBY games than the show itself. with the odd merch too, Rooster Teeth, are you doing alright?
Ideally I feel like with Volume 9, it focuses predominantly on the group on the island, maybe one early episode showing the people on the outside. Then you focus on the island group for 90% of the series. When they return, they are met with what is left of the other group. Or something along those lines, think the shelter that Grunkle Stan made out of the Mystery Shack near the end of Gravity Falls. But I'm being way too optimistic.
I'm legit interested in the crossover movie. I'm not a RWBY nerd by any measure, but it does hold enough of a place in my heart that I hope it's somewhat decent.

@@lootrat6988 Trust me, i've looked at the figures to prove a point before. It's more popular now than ever. It's overtook volume 3 in viewership per volume. It's fandom has never been bigger. There's dozens of new channels starting to react to it every single day. It's Japan's most watched animated show at the moment. It's one of the US' most demanded shows, with 18x the demand of any other US based tv show overall in the last month alone. Only 2.5% of ALL tv series have this level of demand and market growth. It ranks in the 97th percentile in the animation genre, which means RWBY has a higher demand than 97% of all other animated titles on the globe. They sold 20 million in RWBY merch in the past few years. They have sold 700k+ individual blu-ray/dvd units in the US alone for volume 8. They have made dozens of millions off of RWBY volumes 6-8. Each RWBY chapter that has been viewed when they were being released during volumes 7-8 averaged around 7 million views. Each of those views is from a paid subscription too. What shows do you know of that are averaging 7 million views? Compare that to let's say CW's The Flash, which is currently averaging about 1.5 million views per episode, and at it's peak in season 1 only still averaged 4.5 million. Even Game of Thrones averaged 6.8 million views per episode. It has gotten about 350 million individual views over the series entire lifespan at the moment. That means roughly over 5% of people on the whole planet have watched an episode. In some countries it even has theatrical releases... It hasn't fallen downhill at all. What are they basing that on? The writing has stayed the same because the lead writers are still the same since volume 2. Some other writers have changed but that's it. The animator's are the same. Monty outlined the show's story up until this volume, so this is the direction he wanted it to go. If it was really so bad, nobody would want to watch it. People just like to hate on CRWBY because they're not Monty Oum. Sure his animation style cannot be matched when it comes to combat scenes, but everything else has been improving each volume. The voice acting has gotten better every volume, the quality has improved immensely each volume. The songs are all amazing and are all original and only comprised by upto 3 people, which has been the case since the start of the show pretty much. The soundtracks are one of the most requested series soundtrack of each year. They've got a load of A list voice actors in the show. They've got new music composers to write original scores and pieces for each chapter. They've included motion capture and smooth performance enhancements in the past 2 volumes, which makes each character's movement look more fluid and real. They've got so much popularity with the show, they're even having a DC movie crossover. Let alone the new game that's coming out. They've just released a new spinoff show that's made in Japan. Also the game Paladins have just had a RWBY crossover event. They're constantly pumping out books and new merch too, they have pop vinyl figures in most stores near me, and they're making so much money off of everything that RWBY is almost single-handedly keeping Rooster Teeth alive. So you tell me, has it gotten worse, or better?

It has been some time but did we forgot that the King of Vale is renowned as "the last man to use a SWORD AND SHIELD as weapons"? (or something to that extent that was extremely random to the sotry fo Vale that felt out of bounds) Meaning he didn't have a hybrid blade-gun weaponry.

For rwby volume 9, id like it if they spent a whole season on the island without showing us anything happening to the others, then at the end raven shows up and we’re left on a cliffhanger with the last line being yang saying “mom?” And then the next season picks up at the time the 8th volume left off, following crow, raven, and the rest of the cast and ending with raven going through the portal to find yang. Itd be a much needed break from the insane intensity we’ve had in recent seasons

I would LOVE to see a reunion of team STRQ trying to save team RWBY from the everafter in volume 9. We haven’t seen team STRQ in action before, which would be pretty cool.

I didn't even understand half of the things you said about RWBY, because I stopped watching after they fired the VA of my favorite character! But it feels like the core message of this news video could be summed up as: "This is not the day, we've waited for!"
Cautiously optimistic. I love how we’re getting a new volume of RWBY along with a new game and even the new movies (yes there’s two movies coming we’re just getting part 1) to a degree (it’s also my main reason for being cautious). I just recently started watching Ice Queendom and I like it so far. I want the crossover to succeed and since WBD is involved, I have some concerns pertaining to the outcome because while these are dvd movies and not what we want, given my hopes for the franchise in this department, I want this to do well. As long as WBD gets its money back I’m okay. If that plus V9 and IQ are successful then we might get some time to give the main series a proper ending. At this point that’s all I want for the series. I want an ending that’s satisfying. Edit: as for Caboose, yeah it does not feel the same as when Joel did it and I feel mixed about. On one hand Caboose is still around and on the other hand, it’s just strange. Caboose is hysterical and his voice is hard to replicate but I’ll give him credit for doing his best. As for Lopez, is a little easier and it doesn’t feel too bad. It’s still clearly a different actor but the actor makes it work.

A team STRQ movie, (a team STRQ anything), would be so fire! I have been waiting for some kind of a flashback on them .... forever. Such a showing would have the potential of answering so many questions in the lore. Which of course might be why they have avoided it. I am fairly certain Summer Rose will make an appearance on that magical island that is out of time and space and appears to sensitive to one's thoughts. Wheither it be a ghost, astrial projection, dimensional conversion, whatever. She and Ruby will meet. I think the same for Neo and Roman. Juane and Pyrrah. Maybe even Weiss and her father. (He was dispatched rather suddenly just when it seemed he might be having regrets.)
Even if they had summer show up, they'd just go "this is Ruby's version of summer so she can't answer any questions about Salem or what happened to her" so what would be the point?
I dunno. I don't think the writers would bring Summer back just to be like Gusteau was to Remy in Ratatouille. A figment of Ruby's imagination who knows only what Ruby knows. I think it will be the real Summer (somehow) and she would help Ruby "discover herself". Hopefully dropping some more back story lore in the process. Likewise a think a visit from Roman would further nudge Neo into flipping if he reveals to her that it was Cinder who basically forced him in to a situation to get killed. And that Ruby had nothing to do with it. A visit from Pyrrah with some encouraging words might help Jaune get out of the funk he will likely be in from killing Penny. As well as giving him some real closure on her death. A bonus would be Weiss getting a bit of afterlife redemption from her father as he laments not having cared more about his family than wealth. All of these situations could be seen as character building (maybe). We'll have to see how it might play out. As for the rest. Blake and Yang will only think about each other and Raven will help get everyone out. Just an exaggerated guess. All in all, I don't expect them to be on this island for more than 4 chapters. 5 tops, as I am sure the writers will want to rush things along.
Roosterteeth need an award for somehow taking great ideas/things and making the worst decisions humanly possible with them

No not overall good, the movie means a huge wait for the volume for absolutely no gain. The more RWBY things announced the less effort being put into the actual show.

The RWBY meets the Justice League Movie is going to be released on video, not theaters. Though there might be a chance that Fathom events might put it on the big screen for a limited time.

RVB is what got me into Rooster Teeth, and I became a fan of RWBY soon afterwards after watching Volume 3 on KZhead. So of course, anytime new updates come out I get happy for. It's a bit sad that not much information was released for RVB season 19, and I honestly am not really into the cross over film for RWBY and it's also sad that many people may not be hyped for it. I actually worry of how that may impact the series' overall future. I am glad they got the opportunity and I understand why it would happen, but I prefer to devote to the series itself. The wait for Volume 9 has been challenging, and it's going to be another long six to seven months depending on the release date, but I am really looking forward to it and what the plot will be. With that said I am grateful the released the trailer and the clip when they did for everyone outside RTX to see and can help regain interest and anticipation.

It still baffles me that Rooster Teeth does RTX at the same time as AX but the fact alone that RWBY: Ice Queendom ep 4 premiered at AX then RTX shows which con they favored more, also on a side note I went to AX this year and I saw barley any RWBY Cosplays especially compared to years past which was honestly weird and sad to see. I’m glad to see they all went to RTX

Did anyone else think of Clank when Caboose's new voice was revealed? It's not necessarily bad, but I think Loco's voice was a more authentic impersonation imo. It'll take some time getting used to
I don’t mind the RWBY and Justice League crossover movie, but like you said I wished this wasn’t the first RWBY movie, but I’m hoping the writing is great enough to give RT some hope and encouragement to make an RWBY movie either it’s team STRQ (most wanted), or a spin-off movie with team RWBY( like One Piece: Strong World). I’m more hyped for RWBY: Arrowfell knowing it’s being made by the people behind Shantae and River City Girls. Lastly RvB season 19, seems interesting I wonder what story could they do, and Caboose & Lopez new voice is something I have to get use to, Caboose just easily a voice one could capture. Either way I hope these projects go smooth and surpass RT and our expectation!
If they're gonna continue RvB somehow in Infinite, they're gonna run into so much trouble with locations because that game has no fucking maps, and not Blood Gulch style canyon map.

Roosterteeth is exactly where it doesn't want to be right now; it's only making two shows, RWBY - which it invested completely into but doesn't have the staff to actually get made on a consistent schedule or innovate technically on, and RvB - the show that made the company that it left out in the rain so long it went totally mouldy. Considering the financial backing of Warner, I'm shocked that they're doing worse now than when they were indie. Kids, back in my day we had good RvB, RWBY, not to mention Gen:Lock and Camp Camp.
ALSO (unrelated) I'm still mad that all my favourite Let's Plays are all unwatchable now because my favourite Achievement Hunter was revealed to be a Groomer POS. It really upsets me that the company I was dead set on working ( like "Roosterteeth or Bust" dead-set on) for 9 years is in the state its in because of bad people and/ or bad decisions.

To be honest, I am sad to see RWBY and RvB in such a state. I haven’t been update with everything RT as of late, but to come back to see an unwanted crossover RWBY movie, a ‘what if?’ RWBY anime, season 9 of RWBY is in wonderland, RvB on life support with offshoot series, and a boatload of merchandise.

EruptionFang put it succintly: The show's concepts are good, but the execution is really hit and miss. Mostly miss. It's gotten to the point where non-main story RWBY stories are better than the main show. Hopefully the 2-3 year hiatus gave the CRWBY time to really nail the story down and give the audience something they've wanted: CONSEQUENCES. FOR. THERE. ACTIONS. Whatever that might be. But I'm cynical and believe no one from the main cast will be dead in the middle of the desert along with a whole kingdom's population; a few redheads may die off-escreen but that's the running gag for the past 10 years, so why stop now.
The Caboose and Lopez VA’s have had one appearance before this at least. They were in the Death Battle video. Or at least the caboose one was

RWBY x Teen Titans (Classic, NOT Go) would have been pretty solid. Probably not movie material, but at least have a meaningful story to tell. And also, more than one headlining lady people would be excited to see. Raven and Blake? Yang and Starfire? It practically writes itself. But, no... It's probably just going to be the comic book again.
I'm fine with a RWBY x Justice League movie. It's not what I was looking for but it still seems interesting to me.
