I’m sitting outside at the recovery home I’m at, smoking a cigarette, and listening to this. I’m finally sober. No more heroin. No more sleepless nights. No more battling to stay alive everyday. It’s over. I’m at peace. I missed this feeling so much.

That's fantastic. I'm 40 yrs old and haven't had a drink or drug for 7 yrs. I was in & out of rehab facilities for 5 loooooong, hellish yrs before I finally had enough self-inflicted pain. I first got drunk @ 10 or 11 yrs old, smoked pot & discovered opioids @ 13. It was OVER after that. I tried to not have a sober day from that day until I turned 28, and I STILL kept using & drinking while I was in & out of rehab. I imagine you're much younger than me; please don't make your story as long as mine. If you pick back up, there's a GREAT chance you'll die before reaching my age; you have fentanyl now, unlike when I was in the madness. People were still overdosing, but NOTHING like today. I was taught to ALWAYS *"replay my tape"* when the thought of using/drinking came over me. In other words, through practice, I don't think of the good times; instead, I recall where I was right before entering recovery. That & my ever-growing relationship with my Higher Power (through both prayer, meditation, and ACTION) are what have kept me sober. Expect a rollercoaster of thoughts & feelings, especially at the beginning. Take it 1 *moment* at a time, replay your tape, work on forgiving yourself, show humility & gratitude, and you'll be just fine. I'm praying & rooting for you. With love & sincerity, Patrick

Thanks from a chronic pain and untreated bipolar depressions Dr dropped me no longer take insurance. Had him 15 yrs made enough $$ to pay for house. SADS. From Pacific Northwest yesterday 50 degrees. Hard to type on disabling made $$45, 00 under poverty for 1 people and I support my husband he is also disabled. Soothing to troubled mind ran out in my depends and socks and scarf got lost at 2am. Was in ER 8 hrs haven't found physical therapy I need to help me with pain. Not addict always dislike taste of alcohols. They told me to smoke pot doesn't help said I should be on lithium but he won't prescribe that probably can't pay. I can't find pt and had major surgery in December and suppose to start pt in 6 week after that can't get appointed until next month I am senior 60ish. I am a Doctor of Pharmacology, had to quit couldn't concentrate. Thanks for letting me vent. Life is tough everywhere I know but I haven't slept because of pain. I will let you know how this music works a few songs in it's the best so far than many I've listen to. how is rap on chill playlist? Time and place. Hugs

Spring has sprung early in Brisbane Australia- never in 44 years have we been able to wear a t shirt in August. My birthday month has always been cold and windy. The sun is shining, I’m currently on a walk catching some Vitamin D to up my depleted levels and just enjoy being safe, relaxed and alive. It's been a long time, probably close to a decade, since I've been able to sit down, relax, and read an actual book. I've spent way too long endlessly scrolling through KZhead or mindlessly reading Reddit comments. Now I'm chilling at my desk reading Out of the Silent Planet by C. S. Lewis and this is the perfect soundtrack to drown out the random noises and distractions and let me focus on reading on this lazy Sunday afternoon.

Those of us who listen to chill hop are a special kind of person. If there is anyone out there like me, whose kindness is taken for granted, who is taken advantage of on a daily basis and feel completely alone, just know that you are not. One day we will all be together, shining as one light.

Likewise, positive emotions are Angels, So keep your mind on Godly and righteous things to keep the angels with you. The higher power is in control and the world has been through great upheavals before, from the flood to wars, to famines, you name it. But the people who had angels with them always faired the best.
