Our Wendy Snow Fairy is really a strong person. I'm proud of her and glad that she recovered well and singing again. 🥺

the way she never let go of the mic she was holding when she was being rushed to hospital, now she's back, singing again, the thing she loves the most.😭
Okay, cool! I was not sure if you had been made aware of her injuries. Silly me, OF COURSE the fandom would have filled you in from the last reaction video. Here's an exceptionally long ramble about my love for this song and more importantly for Wendy herself. It's long and you very well might lose patience with me. Here goes: In 2001, I took a fall at work. I had one end of a couch in my arms and I stepped where I should not have stepped. I fell at least four feet (1.2 meters), maybe four and a half feet (1.4 meters) into grass. I have nerve damage somewhere in my spine from twisting and landing awkwardly. At least the couch stopped at the edge and did not come down on me. I never lost consciousness and nothing was actually BROKEN. I never got any medical treatment, just a mediocre examination by a company doctor. But I have lasting problems from two decades ago. I now need a cane in order to walk or one of my legs could drop me onto the ground at any moment; I have lost almost the entire muscle on the top front of the leg (quadriceps) and the kneecap does not do what it is supposed to do. That WAS my good leg. My good shoulder is messed up. Basically the entire right side of my body has problems. I can barely move well enough to get my own coffee in the mornings. Some days I really hate even getting out of bed. Proper mattresses are difficult to come by; my sleep is constantly interrupted. I cannot sit for too long, I cannot stand for too long, I cannot lie down for too long. I shift positions a lot while I am trying to sleep. I always ALWAYS hurt SOMEWHERE on my body, I don't get to truly relax. In comparison, the fall that Wendy took was FAR MORE SEVERE than mine! She fell likely half-again my falling distance (possibly double, depending on who one listens to about the difference between where she fell from and where she landed). I have heard two meters, and I have heard two and a half meters... She didn't land on anything soft. That was likely concrete, when I got grass. I didn't break anything. I pulled some muscles and tendons and pinched some nerves. Wendy had at least three breaks if not more and was unconscious when Solar found her (who knows how long she was there?). So, this song and the MV is so very special to me personally because it is a REAL-LIFE comeback. Wendy is MADE of music but she COULD have 'wimped out' and not come back at all. Or she could have taken much longer, after injuries such as those she suffered. I bet that she still has lasting effects of some kind. She will ALWAYS remember that fall. But there is that one line in the song that she sings in English and it's the only part of the lyrics that made it onto the screen without turning on the subtitles: 'I just want to thank you for believing in me.' The entire song, but that line especially, was directed toward everybody who wished her well and hoped and prayed for her to recover and BEGGED her to come back whenever she could. She LOVES her fans, she could not refuse. It took her over a year of recovery time but I do not mind at all that it took her so long. The pelvis must have been the most excruciatingly painful and difficult break to get over, possibly causing her to have to learn how to walk all over again. Of course you are correct about the face, that fracture actually could have ended her career; comparatively, her broken wrist is almost an afterthought. I bet she really feels all of these injuries in cold weather... I just wanted her to be okay, so I was just waiting and hoping and praying. And if it took her even longer, I would continue to wait, and I would be JUST AS HAPPY for her if she had made a return later. I don't begrudge her any of that healing time at all, just wanting her to be able to walk again. So this really is a MIRACULOUS comeback from my perspective. She's a hero. She's MY hero. She literally did something I was not able to do. This is her TRIUMPHANT RETURN and one of THE HAPPIEST things I can remember or imagine from K-Pop so far. AND THEN, as we know, this sounds AMAZING! FLAWLESS! I noticed that she barely moves on camera. I am HOPING that she does not have a limp or any other lasting effect holding her back from performing, but this worried me a little bit. Still, it is SO GREAT to see her AT ALL, whether she has full mobility or not! Her smile is SO WARM and she made a song that goes right along with that... She's SO STRONG! OMG! PERFECTION! Okay, my ramble is over. IF you made it this far, you're a champ! Thanks for reading and hopefully understanding!

Your comment is beautiful and heartwarming. I hope you're feeling better and will be happy and healthy. I just wanted to comment on what you said at the end. Wendy does not have a limp (or a noticeable one). She's been practicing choreographies since last year and performed Psycho with the group at the SMTOWN concert at the start of the year. She danced well and with lots of energy. She spoke to fans and said she is doing well and very healthy now. She also does pilates and already has noticeable abs in the video she performed with a band so she seems very fit and healthy. Take care! :)

A little trivia: She studied in Canada so she has accent. She is very fluent in English. Pls listen to her live band version of "Why Can't You Love Me?" which is one of the side track of the album. You will surely love it too. I hope you will notice this 💙💙💙

On her first live performance she said in an interview that her hands were shaking, and when she stood up, her legs were shaking too, like she was so nervous performing alone after a long time, but she still made it I'm so proud of her. Thank you for appreciating her talent!
Congrats on the 150K mate! I agree that Wendy's voice has a very relaxing and soothing quality to it. I'm not a huge fan of pop in general, but some of these K-Pop artists have some serious chopsss
Ahh I was hoping you’d react our snow fairy’s debut song. I love every song on her album, they’re absolutely amazing. The other title track When This Rain Stops is just as impressive. Speaking of her injury, it had been serious enough that she had her jaw wired shut at first.
Fun fact: Wendy is one of the few females in the Korean music industry to have have than 3 octaves in her vocal range (she has a total of 4.5 octaves)

C#3 - G5 - Eb7 is her whole vocal range and it's 4 Octaves and 1 note. if you say she has 4.5 then it means she hit 3 new notes, so what are they?

Hi Juia! Thank you for reacting to this. Wendy was severely injured at the end of 2019 and spent most of 2020 recovering from it. ( She fell from a stage and shattered her wrist and hip. ) This song and album is a big hug from Wendy to her fans who waited so patiently and supportively for her. You were wondering about the "genre" of this track. This song has a "trot" influence which is a music style pretty much exclusive to Korea From 50 yards back, it's kind of a mix of country, lounge, contemporary and folk music. And just an fyi... for her, this is probably the easiest song on her album vocally.
Agree. "Like Water" and "Best Friend" are the most easiest vocally from the whole album, Best Friend prob slightly hard because of the harmonization. Next, you need to at least have a decent agility to sings to "Why Can't You Love Me". After that there's "The Road" as the most musically interesting one in the album, and then there's "When This Rain Stops" with many Eb5's splattered here and there.

@@redvelvetismyreligion9871 Depends. Like Water is full of challenging dynamics, basically all songs in the whole album highlited out dynamics flow and showcased Wendy's mixed register wholefully. Best Friend's important point is to build up the harmonization. Why Can't You Love Me is require at least a develop agility. The Road and When This Rain Stops will test you how developed your mixed register are the most. I'd vote both of them as the hardest, but still WTRS wins at the end to me.

Since you love her singing so much, i would highly recommend you check out her appearance on Lee Mujin service. You are going to blown away. Also, check out Red Velvet’s killing voice as well if you want to hear all five of them perform live for 30mins straight. There voices have matured so much and their technique has been refined since they debuted. I promise you’ll love it.

OH MY GOD YES we love our Snow Fairy! I never got the Notification but I have been waiting for your reaction to this for weeks, this was just Phenomenal I can not stop listening to this you should definitely check out the whole Album it is just Vocals on Vocals! She did such an Amazing Job she sounds and looks like a mixture between a Siren and an Angel just Wow, I'm not entirely sure if you heard her Vocals at 5:15 you probably did but I didn't hear you talk about that (and I don't know why but this kind of reminds me of Splash the Movie!) Snow Fairy is very suitable name for Wendy! She has such an angelic low soft voice and she flies on her notes so smoothly and elegantly like paper planes.

Referring to her accident she fell 2.5 m, she broke her pelvis, wrist and cheek bone ( Her jaw was wired shut for 6 weeks ) Her voice isn't the only thing strong with this one... Funny you mention her "American" pronunciation she went to school in Ontario, CA and Minnesota, USA.

Wendy is generally considered on of the best vocalists of the new generation in kpop. I love you’re reactions of Red Velvet! I’d love to see you react to their performance on Immortal Songs, it’s called Goodbye. They were still rookies when they performed it! Also I’d love to see some reacts of Girls Generation Taeyeon bc she is considered like the best vocalist in kpop pretty much! Thank you for the reactions!
