  • So tragic that they didn’t have this conversation in person. She didn’t see the brief smile flash across his face when she said she loved him. If she’d seen it, she would have known that he cared and that her words affected him even if he couldn’t express it out loud. She didn’t see it and all she heard from him was “take care.” Maybe talking over the phone where the other person can’t see him is a metaphor for how he kept his feelings inside, not fully showing them to her. As the audience we can see it but it’s hidden from her. Maybe that’s also why he chose to call her and not go see her.

    @camilleg7813@camilleg78133 жыл бұрын
    • Yeah, love is tough sometimes. I poured out a good helping to a dead end phone once. You have to grin, sadly, and chalk it up on your list, then wake up to a new day. Eventually.

  • I understand Will liking her, but god knows what she saw in him. Emotionally unavailable, violently hit the wall behind her after their first night, never committed, lied etc etc. Broke up with her, rejected her, did all those things that were done to him. It was a toxic relationshop if he never got therapy. What did she see in him?

    @rehle4738@rehle47383 жыл бұрын
    • At first they clearly had a lot fun together and I think by the time the main argument happened she was clearly already deeply in love with him to the point where she knew why he was like this and that he wasn’t perfect (to say the least) but she didn’t care she just wanted to be with him.

    • i think it was because she caught a glimpse of what he was like underneath, violence and cruelty wasn't his personality, it was clearly a defence mechanism, so she felt that if he just mustered up the courage he could get over that. and she KNOWS he loves her back but he just won't admit it and i'm sure that was incredibly frustrating. it doesn't help that women tend to have an innate urge to nurture, she wanted to fix him or help him. a lot of women stick around trying to 'fix' a man even when she's better off leaving.

  • There's no doubt that the acting was excellent in this movie. The Chemistry between Will and Skylar is obvious. In this particular scene, Skylar should have used the approach Sean did. After Skylar professed her love for Will, she should have waited for his response. By her saying "Will?", she spoke first and allowed Will an out. He who speaks first loses. When she said "I love you", there was pressure on Will to say what he felt. She let him off the hook.

The part has nothing to do with what women want but what Will has to get over; that you can't know everything about life by drawing conclusions based on some analyzing and quick decisions. It wasn't that Will even thought those things truly, he just had his own fear like I said. This is my favorite movie dude.

  • @earthfell And maybe you should understand statistics better. Predicting complex human action does not mean one has to understand the concepts, as long as you have data to back up the statistics. For example, I can predict that 50% of the time, if you are born a poor class you will stay in a poor class, and that there is a 99% chance that those born in a family of lowest 20% income will not be in the top 5% income. These are just statistics found from data. No understand is necessary.
