Cotto is one of my favorite fighters. Humble, no trash talking. Just kicks ass. It's all in the ring.
80s bad ass
COTTO would have extended his career a bit more had MARGARITO " loaded hand wraps" not cheated. MARGARITO FLORES should have been banned from boxing forever.

Mosley was a throwback. He always looked like a fighter from the 40's or 50's. Dragged Cotto into the deep water. Tough old warrior.
Probably because he tried to mimick Ray Robinson.
You wouldn't know it by listening to these two jackals calling the fight. "And a hard right overhand shot by Mosely that...hurts Mosely! Man, Cotto's awesome the way he can attack Mosely's fists with the side of his head! Cotto young strong bull! Mosely's mouth is open! His lungs are on fire! Cotto almost ko'd him in the middle of the last round with his fiersome, steely stare!"
❤
Mosley was past his prime too
With all the weirdness in boxing these days it’s good to go back and watch actual no bullshit fighters.
I miss this boxing what an awesome fight
Two of my childhood heros. Mosely has one of the smoothest leaping cross/hook I've ever seen. Cotto has really great foot work.
Cotto was always one of my favorite fighters.
COTTO WAS RELENTLESS Both men left it all in the ring. Both are LEGENDS IN THE BOXING WORLD

Floyd was too damn afraid of unbeaten cotto. Thanks for cheat antonio who destroyed the fighter followed by the pounding of the pacman of which both fights took 5 yrs outta miguel's prime so the master evader had the courage to fight MC. Dude semi retired too often to avoid risky fights avoiding foes at their peak. Gotta protect that 0 L at all cost😤☠️☠️
this was a very good fight between 2 legend's and hall of famers much respect to both champ's
@@nassiglutt6587yup at welterweight Floyd Mayweather did not fight guys unless he's seen a chink in armer... People don't realize he wasn't trying to fight guys at there best cotto, Mosley ,Manny Pacquiao, Oscar de la Hoya but Oscar was bigger so I'll give him the benefit of a doubt there.. he fought Canelo when he was young drained him made him get down at 152... And then there's guys like Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez that were fighting at 147 to 154 at the time ..he flat out didn't fight them.. so yeah that's why people that watched him give Mayweather his respect but won't say he's the best of all time and put a Astrid next to his name
The Best of The Best! The Great FIGHTERS, respect for BOTH
Two great boxers in their own right, a hard fought battle to the last bell.
Cotto was and always will be my favourite fighter of all time ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
There should of been a rematch...This was one of the greatest fights
Cotto one of the most under appreciated and underrated 140-147lber in boxing history.
too slow mayn
He’s humble af
At 140lbs he was a beast.
Great fight, just hated the somewhat bias from the commentary. Assuming a warrior like Mosley is getting discouraged because you don’t see Cotto show effects was irritating. He was 36, battled to the final bell like a warrior.
As a Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 I have alot of respect for sugar Shane.hes one of my favorite boxers ever..God bless you champ.
Cotto is Our PR Pride. I was really rooting for Mosley when he fought Floyd . 2 🥊🥊 Boxing Legends.
This was where cotto really began boxing more instead of search and destroy slugger and he out boxed Shane. Which was a bit of a surprise. His finest performance imo.
He out jabbed the jabber (in Mosely)!
ya because this was the first fight where cotto faced a dangerous world champion... him trying to search and destroy could of got him in a load of trouble... he played it smart.
He should have stayed with his uncle as a trainer.
@@johnnybiggunz1141 yes
What's funny is in his old age of 36 fighting a 27 yr Old man these announcers never say the fact that Cotto is hitting Mosley with right hands and not fazing Mosley at all. From the beginning of the fight they only talk about what Cotto is doing.obviously They were told to do this.the judges r corrupt as well as the announcers . greed for money has destroyed boxing
Amen.
Those uppercuts that Shane was hitting Cotto with were great, but his defense was lack luster...that's been his issue. If he had good defense and not waiting...it could've been a different story. Cotto is a LEGEND
He has a lot of skills but he’s an offensive fighter, he got away with a lot of mistakes by having heart and a lot of talent
If Mosley had a good jap it would've been a different fight but those chopping right hands from Mosley were a thing of beauty
I have never seen a fighter just break so many boxers will as Cotto
This fight made me a Cotto fan. I always love Mosley but this fight made me a fan of both!
Cotto is the prototype of Tough, always has been. Shane & Miguel are both super nice guys out of the ring too, quick with a smile and always willing to stop for a picture and a word to fans. Great fighters and reps of Boxing.
I met Cotto in Person one hell of a nice guy
Hard fight to watch because I love both these guys. Excellent PROFESSIONAL boxers and decent people.
i atually thought the announcers were biased. A lot of the punches they were raving about from cotto either missed or were grazing. I had the bout a draw because i had mosley winning rounds 2-5 and 9 and 10 for certain. He could have won the late rounds as well because Cotto was on his bicycle
Both of them are discipline and fierce fighters,no trash talking.
Miguel Coto, gran campeón un Caballero, total , muy querido en nuestro México
Gracias por el reconocimiento. Nuestro campeón Coto siempre fue humilde y aguerrido.
Cotto un caballero ,no era hablador
Much appreciated love 💕 to all the memories of the family 😊 of champions
Wasn't mosley coming off a really bad Achilles injury in this fight or was it a different one?
Cotto had huge potential at this point in career. Showed he can fight or outbox a very good Mosley. Margarito messed him up a lot by cheating changed trajectory of cotto
nah, cotto wouldve lost to pacquaio and mayweather regardless of what happened with margarito.

Enjoyed watching Cotto in his earlier days, but I believe that he had a confidence issue, which you could see even here against an aging Moseley. Definitely never the same after the Margarito cheating debacle. Would have given Mayweather and Pacquiao a different look, had it not been for the Margarito plaster punching.
Nah not Pacquiao he got pumped in that one should have been stopped earlier Pac-Man was tired of beating him up…

Me quede co las ganas de ver una posible pelea entre Cotto y Marquez, ambos tan tecnicos hubiese sido una pelea para grabar y recordar.
Soy boricua, y Márquez es mi boxeador favorito. Ese hubiese sido tremenda pelea
Gratitude.
Mosley fights better when he feels he is technically superior to his opponent when he gets outsmart or counterpunch he gets frustrated and starts head hunting for big shots
Разве это бокс. Одни обнимашки, один убегает, второй догоняет. Только и ждут когда гонг прозвучит.
At 36 he gave it all hat off to him brutal encounter they left it all in that ring 😮

Cotto was cleaning out all the fighters Mayweather was supposed to be fighting. Boxing couldn't let that happen. Cotto was the best welterweight/junior middleweight of that era in my opinion.
People commenting how GOOD Cotto fought .. when in FACT .. it REALLY speaks VOLUMES on just how GREAT Shane WAS .. This obviously over the hill Fighter took this YOUNG GUNNER by almost 10 years into DEEP WATERS and had him TREADING WATER ( Cotto LOST Rds. 9 - 12 Folks ..Sorry NOT Sorry ) .. don't get this shit TWISTED .. Shane SHOULD'VE Won but Cotto was HOME on P.R. Parade Holiday so the judges and Annoucers ( BEGGING for us to BELIEVE Cotto Won SMH LOL ) decided to TAKE ONE from Shane .. DAMN SHAME .. GREAT Fight tho .. KUDOS to BOTH Warriors
Look at Cotto he was a different fighter before he fought Margarito the cheater.
Great fight! This is before that dude completely destroyed Cotto. I mean not just in the boxing ring. In my opinion, poor Cotto was not as good a fighter after being mauled by that cheater. I believe that cheater mentioned about himself numerous times as being a great Mexican fighter.
What a fighter is mr sugar shane...in his prime cotto dont last 6 round
NICE FIGHT FROM 2 OF THE BEST FOR ME COTTO BY MAJORITY DECISION
One thing, I can say about shane he was nice power boxing for a natural light weight he was nice fought the best through good combinations from different angles side to side movement NICE

shane always fought like a guy from the 40s
MIGUEL ANGEL COTTO ! 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
Felicidades Cotto
At exactly 1:00 in the 3rd, Mosley throws the kitchen sink... with that left.
Mosley had such a tough career. He rarely got in under fair circumstances. Always jumping weight or older and coming down, short notice etc Mosley at his best might have beat many of those that beat him
But even then they knew it won't be easy
Mosley is a cheater without steroids he's garbage
Tbh I think a young enough Mosley would've beaten canelo or at least not get to by him lol. Mosley was a real great boxer
Mosley ya estaba en la recta final de su carrera y asi y todo le dio gran batalla a Cotto.

Cotto's best fight

when was this fight held?
2006
This fight was closer than what people think..
it be the commentary u can't listen go silent n watch da fights
it was 115-113 twice and 116-113 so it was close.
Your comments out of the True.
Nobody is saying this fight was not close, i dont think. Any fight with Shane Mosley is trouble. He was the real deal. His two wins against De la Hoya were close too. The only time i saw Shane give up was in the fight with Pacquiao. He suffered a knockdown (first time ever?) in rd 2 or something. Look for interview clips of Shane sitting next to DLH talking about Manny's legacy.
Fans are more impressed with a fighter personality then there skills
One of cottos best wins really
Cotto The last punch of the ninth round is very good, use the same technique again.
Cotton was always on the defensive and attacked stances " while Mosley focus only to attack Cotton . without thinking his undefended face ..
Grande elcanelo todos estos boxiadores pasaron por elcanelo siendo tan jovensitono pudieron ganar le poreso canelo esta adonde esta 👍👍👍👍👍👍🦍🦍🦍🦍🦍
Mosley was already old and past his prime
Two legends that knockdown and TKO by paquiao
Sugar at 135 was a Cheat Code. He just couldn’t put the extra weight on his frame. Cotto is the only Spanish fighter that I liked. He was game for anyone and everyone. His skill level was ridiculous.
You are completely+moronically wrong. I consistently was able to spend time with Sugar Shane from 1998-2007. He regularly came to a gym I was a full time trainer at. He is a amazing person!! Went to his fights, private gatherings after fights, such a generous man. He killed himself to make the 135lb. lightweight division. He really likes to do hard resistance/weight training. He could not do any weight training to make the 135 lb.! None! After his big move to 147 he could finally resistance train! He went through a time of too much resistance training, slowing himself fighting at the 154class for a few years. He brought a trainer with him to the facility that I worked at, Daryl (?) . This 'trainer' wanted to train Shane to much like a bodybuilder, I know the training was dangerous for Shane.
Bruh who hasn’t cotto fought.
J'ai aimé la frappe et la vitesse du 27ans succès Fréro.
Pretty much dead even, which is really impressive considering Shane was proooobably juiced to the gills. Cotto had so much more snap in him in those days, and his punch resistance was actually really good, much better than at 140. Mosley was a big puncher at 147 but Cotto took everything pretty well.
Margarito took a lot from Cotto after delivering that beating with cement-reinforced gloves.
@@Radrook353 yepp,, he was never the same after that fight with Margarito's loaded gloves. And Pacquiao finished the job. Took a terrible beating from Pac-man to the point that Pacquiao stopped hitting him. Went to body shots with very few shots to his head in the last rds. But.. Pacquiao did punish Margarito for the full fight. Payback?? Probably was a little bit. It's no secret that Cotto and Pac-man where and prolly still are good friends.
ok
@@keithcraft6697 the poetic justice was that Pacquiao damaged Margarito's orbital bone so bad that it made it easy for Cotto to break it again in their rematch. Cotto broke it again so no state athletic commission in the U.S. granted Margarito the right to fight on U.S. soil for safety reasons.
P P P P Pp0 pp we@
The love triangle between cotto, Mosley, and margarito is so interesting to me. Cotto beats Mosley. Margarito potentially cheating tkos cotto. Margarito definitely not cheating gets smoked by an even more aged Mosley. Makes you wonder how things would’ve went for Miguel if he never had to trade fair punches with plaster
Margarito got caught trying to cheat against Mosely in the dressing room moments before the fight. So dirty
Pelea Mosley sientes pasos en la azotea y te abrazas el referí que hace párate y pelea
