  • Love these tecnology. The light quality its superb and its very cheap into energy demands. I use as bedroom and workshop lighting. And use as a portable lighting into my build proyects..

  • I installed 4 behemoths on some 15m masts. Really good. The only thing that might have been added is random/delay and soft start to avoid nuisance tripping due to inrush.

    • @@efixx Has to be done! Would make a great video on how good the output is! Its all very well sticking it up a pole on a football field but seeing how overpowering it is in something like a garden really would show what it can do over a run of the mill domestic flood. 😂

  • Can you show how these lights perform? Particularly interested in the colour temperature of the smallest light.

    @JCXY@JCXY2 жыл бұрын
  • Regarding the smaller light: Only great UNTIL they go wrong, then because of the way that they are assembled (very strong sealant of some type used to hold the thick front glass in place, and this is also slightly recessed into the frame) it's impossible to pull them apart to carry out a repair. So yet more E-Waste ............ I speak from experience here - this applies to the newer units made in China, the older ones (made in Germany) can be dismantled and hence repaired.

  • For such a simple change the bracket is brilliant I don't know why other manufacturers haven't done the same thing. As the output of these fittings increase how is the inrush current at switch on delt with. Do the instructions give guidance on MCB type (B,C,D) and max number for switch/contact ratings.

    • Hi Mark, I agree the bracket is a genius move, so simple but really effective. All the data on inrush currents and number of fittings per breaker is available on the Ledvance website, here's a link to the 50W gen 3 fitting. Look under technical data. www.ledvance.com/professional/products/luminaires/professional-luminaires/floodlights/floodlight-with-flexible-motion-and-daylight-sensor--up-to-120-lmw/floodlight-with-flexible-motion-and-daylight-sensor--up-to-6000-lm-light-output-c8920 👍👍👍

  • Hi! I've got a Ledvance floodlight in my garden, it is around 4 years old and has stopped working. Do you know if it's the whole unit I need to replace or what? I'd love to put that big light up for a replacement but think my neighbours would have me in court! Hahaha

  • Why do manufacturers forget about the PIR design, and this fitting is no different. They all have the symbols in the same colour as the body of the PIR, making it difficult to see them and which way to turn the dials. All manufacturers, use a different colour, one that stands out.

    • Have you ever noticed when trying to set pir up your always looking into the sun?

      @raychambers3646@raychambers36462 жыл бұрын
    • @@raychambers3646 true, you get the light to the right angle, only to have to move the thing to see the black writing on a black PIR for the settings, lost count of the amount of times I have had to use the light on my phone to see the markings. Although they must think it's a good idea to use black on black, because they all do it.

      @acelectricalsecurity@acelectricalsecurity2 жыл бұрын
    • @@acelectricalsecurity I agree with you, it's annoying and I would pay more for better quality. However, it comes down to manufacturing simplicity and costs, nothing else. Black plastic extrusions don't wear off over time, whereas white paint does. Do you want an easy to setup light that has no markings on it after a year or two when you find you need to adjust it, or an annoying to setup one that still has them a few years later, or would you rather pay 10% more for something laser etched maybe? All manufacturers do the same because they see it as the best option, keeping costs down and not wearing off, at the expense of ease of setup and use. They don't need touching often and it only annoys those of us that need to adjust them, which is often not the end user, who just wants prices to be as low as possible.
