This is really... I dunno... The hive can easily reject a queen. This whole thing just didn't sit well with me. Especially talking about "euthanizing" an entire hive. Like, uh, what? Hives collapse all the time and you're just like welp we gotta do away with this one

Number one rule, don't take the suit off, ever, the bees inside the suit can only sting once but taking your suit off is a recipe for trouble. Leave a hive queenless for several days before putting a new queen in and make sure to remove any emergency cells that the bees will have made
I had to downvote this because of that. I don't know much about bees and I have not actually been stinged once. Just keeping chill is the key. I know that would not help hem but ffs removing suit? Need to be a LOT more away then that to remove if bees are hostile for sure. edit: theknee is correct. this is a fake

Number one rule... if you want to act like you know what you're doing, buy a better suit. I've seen people stung less by killer bees 🙄
I watched 2 videos of this guy and this is what I've learned: He almost accidentally killed a queen and the worker bees had to revive her. He accidentally squished the eggs out of another queen. He deliberately killed a queen to replace her with a new one, just to have himself stung and the new queen killed. Obviously people do improve, so don't take this as a stab. Looking forward to seeing you grow with your hives. Also hope you develop better relationships with queens😂

The queen died of starvation, needlessly. He didn't know why the end of the box was wood ....but didn't bother to contact the company and ask. He completely ignored the sugar container taped inside the box too. They also didn't seem to know that you shouldn't put the new queen into the hive for at least a day so the colony understands that they are without a queen and thus accept a new one. Leaving her in that box for 3 days without checking wasn't good either. These may be bugs but are still live creatures, taking the time to look into what to expect and even ask questions is so important.

I'm just learning about bees. How does getting a new queen calm the hive? Why/how did the last queen make her hive so aggressive?

Maybe the last queen was an aggressive species. My guess is African bees. Introducing a more docile species would result in that Queen producing more like offspring as the old ones die off. That was my understanding.
Yes the bees gain the genetic traits from the queen mother.. a docile queen will produce docile bees. Placing a docile queen in an aggressive hive after dispatching the old queen takes time to take effect. Could be anywhere from 45 to 60 days before the hive has been completely replaced by the new docile bees. But that’s if they accept the new queen and they won’t necessarily.. or they may decide to kill the docile queen if there are any old queen cells that produced another aggressive queen which they consider superior. You would want to make sure to remove any queen cells that came from the old aggressive queen, so a thorough check is necessary. These aggressive bees mostly came from Africa due to a failed experiment in North America. Aggressive bees are obviously more dangerous but they are excellent honey making machines. So someone brought the aggressive African bees to North America in an attempt to mate them with the docile European bees in the hopes of creating a hybrid bee with the work ethic of the aggressive bees but the docile nature of the calmer European bees. Needless to say the experiment failed.. the aggressive bees took over the hives and then swarmed away spreading their aggressive genes. They are excellent at taking over docile hives and turning them aggressive. And there is an effort in the USA to stop the spread as much as possible, and to make sure these Africanized bees do not take over docile hives.

I find it amazing the daughters and other bees are able to locate the new queen as soon as you opened the packaging . as for killing the queen : is there another option instead of killing the queen like relocating her to the wild or something

I believe criticism is helpful, with that being said this is meant as some possible advice. If they are already aggressive don’t take your suit of because a couple beers in your suit can only sting you a couple times. You take your suit off and a lot of bees can sting you a lot of times
