Promoter Eddie Hearn talks about the challenges of boxing negotiation, regrets and his envy of UFC

Sports promoter Eddie Hearn takes questions from the audience at the Oxford Union. He talks about why he has no regrets, the advice he hasn't taken in his career and highlights just how differently we each see success. He also answers questions about the challenges faced by boxers from smaller countries and the day he disagreed with Don King about a fight at Madison Square Garden

ABOUT THE OXFORD UNION SOCIETY: The Oxford Union is the world's most prestigious debating society, with an unparalleled reputation for bringing international guests and speakers to Oxford. Since 1823, the Union has been promoting debate and discussion not just in Oxford University, but across the globe.
The Oxford Union is deeply grateful and encouraged by the messages of support in response to our determination to uphold free speech. During our 200 year history, many have tried to shut us down. As the effects of self-imposed censorship on university campuses, social media and the arts show no signs of dissipating, the importance of upholding free speech remains as critical today as it did when we were founded in 1823. Your support is critical in enabling The Oxford Union to continue its mission without interruption and without interference. You can support the Oxford Union here: oxford-union.org/supportus

The process of succes seems predicated in overcoming those and proving to oneself. Happiness isn't sustainable though, but contentment and peace is.

Some top amateurs dont always have to face that advertsity during a tournament. Where as a guy who didnt make the GB squad has to show his character to prove he was worthy. Many top amateurs were beaten as pros by fighters that didn't get a gold or even make the team. Tyrell Biggs, Henry Tillman both got ironed out by Mike Tyson.

    • @@dazmorland you're right, it can only benefit them to be better themselves, I'm sure people like Eddie do talks to a lot of people from all creeds in life . I just want people who are struggling in life to do hear these people talk . We don't live in a perfect world, I just hope we can live in a society that's nobody's left behind in life . We , don't abandon people. I was homless for 21 days in the summer , I worked every day for those 21 days as a labourer , slept in my car at night , just looking at the stars . I realised nobody is coming to help but me . I got enough money for a room . As someone whos a hard worker, a good person but also struggling it's important to me to be a better bloke for how many days I've left . Anyway a poster message is better than no message , I guess the students at these universities are probably going to be in high places in life , if they carry a real humidity in life we're hopefully have a society that the has more compassion, life's not just about what you take for yourself, it's about looking after others , looking yourself in the mirror saying I'd rather do the right thing than what benefits me , I'm not into god or against, just a gut feeling myself and the universe.
