Do you think that the BMW X5 4.6is is under-appreciated?
the 4.8is facelift even more so :)
@@kbc8090 Ha. Need to drive that one. Never had the chance
Best looking X5 Ever made ❤️❤️🔥🔥
True also
True
Great job on the video. Top notch quality
I'm a CD guy myself but finally gave up on them now with my i4 but our CLK430 has a tape player (the CD changer no longer ejects, it's in the trunk too) behind the screen like this X5. And my 2016 328ix of course has a single disc player. Thanks so much for this video. This channel is becoming one of my favs and in a way, a comfort watch - after busy days or weeks. Keep up the great work!
Thank you. Really kind words.
My kinda guy. Enjoy your X5 4.6is. Absolutely LOVE the red interior. Didn't know you could opt for it.
Wish it was mine :) Just a press car from BMW.
I own a 2006 E53 4.8iS Le Mans Blue. It has enough power for the every day person. Feels nice to drive and sounds lovely.
Congrats. What an iconic color
I own one as well. Sadly, I had it for about five minutes until the transmission went out. Sent it out to do a custom manual transmission swap. It’s been in the shop for a year now….
615hp for the 4.6 huh? More like 350 and as a guy who's pushed one to a sensible limit without forced air, there's no way you get 0-60 in 6.2 seconds with that much hp unless you're towing a boat. Nobody ever mentioned how the 4.6is is seam welded and not spot-welded. This is why they feel so "right" 20 years later, they haven't been twisted by time.
Didn't realize it was seam welded
I saw that HP mistake as well. Lot's of other misleading info on this video. He wasn't very prepared with info.
I strive for my Imola red 4.6is to be as clean as this one. Great video!
:) Give it a nice wash once in a while
@@bmwblog I do! It was pretty much abandoned on the side of the road in the woods for 5 years when I found it and bought it, so it’s just taking a little bit of restoration work :)
I owned one of these for a few years. Same colour too! It was such a pleasure to drive and made a very nice noise too.
The noise is def great
@@bmwblog is this a reliable car? Does it have the valve carbon build up?
I have a red 2006 bmw x5 4.4, did a lot of custom upgrades on it , still putting work into it, I love it! But it has been good to me not many big issues with it other than replacing the air suspension. I wish one day to show my work on KZhead one day!
Very nice!
Have one - 2003 x5 4.6is. Currently over 180K miles. Still turns heads! But soon to be replaced by a 2024 X5 50e PHEV. I think you missed that one of the features of this particular model was a variable speed sensitive power assist. So the steering feel does change based on vehicle speed.
Nice. Congrats on both cars. Yes. Missed that part.
I love the x5 4.6is, especially this red on red with the wide wheels. Amazing! I want the blue one
The blue one is great too :)
Hi from France, own one and love it. Does anybody knows how many 4,6is were produced ? It's hard to find the real number... @BMWBLOG as you seems to have your entries, could you ask them ? Kind regards
Can try to ask, but not sure how many
I have a 2002 black one and had a silver 2002 and crashed it. I would buy a third if something happens to it. I also did the timing chains in my garage last year. I love the tank like feel, someone once described it as a thoroughbred horse.
Any reliability issues?
@@bmwblog only issue was the timing chain guides
@@amicrazy195 How many hours did this take you?
6 speed cd? Never heard of that. Beautiful car. I owned a Lemans blue 4.8 is and got rid of it faulty air suspension and valve stem seals leaked. Ran like a locomotive with all the smoke, couldn’t pass smog. I’m in the market for a 4.6is now. I must be crazy 😜
Best dising e53 , and x5 f15 biutiful.
When the E53 X5 came out, I fell in love with SUVs. I still dream of owning an X5, the day will come 😏
Prices are not bad on the E53
@@bmwblog I'm in South Africa and these models are quite scarce now, I've just searched and only found one 4.8is for roughly $14500 with 140 000kms on the clock. Not too bad for a 2004 model.
Putting the engine from this into my 740i was the best thing I ever did.
Did you really do that? Wild
Used to have a 4.4l 1st gen x5. They are fun to drive, feel very soild, very classy old school german luxury style. Unfortunately they can be very unreliable mechanically. Timing chain broke, fuel pump, radiator, air suspension twice, power steering pump, mirror motor malfunction, new gaskets, fuel gauge. Only had it for 45000 miles before it was junked spent 20k on maintenance.
The E53s are known for some issues. But $20 is def a lot
Yes such a good looking SUV. The classic L shape BMW lights. What's not to love?
Agreed. Still surprised they are so affordable. But then again, likely plenty of things to fix on it
i have the 4.4 and im very happy with it and no intentions to sell it
You should never sell it. It's so unique
I have a 2002 4.6 Same color with red m sport seats. Fun fact. Only 49 were made in 2002 with this color combo
That's extremely rare. Congrats
hard to choose between the BMW X5 4.6is and 4.8is!
Haven't driven yet the 4.8is. I'm curious if I would feel the difference
I like 4.6, i owed 4.6 my friend had 4.8, i drive them both at same time, 4.8 makes better exhaust sound, big sunroof, But 4.8 feel more soft more comfortable like a 7 series, 4.6 like a sports car, solid car, like a luxury GTI, But can do some off road. I replaced the Rear muffler to the 4.8 one, it's sound like a dream, even better than 4.8. You can feel the engine tuned by Alpina, kind of You drive a muscle car, 4.8 can not feel the same.
Only 1734 miles, awesome condition
Yes, came straight from the BMW USA Classic fleet. You can imagine the stress driving some cars like this.
❤
Cool car but in México a bmw oíl change is about $250 dollars , a lot
Ok it’s about normal. But How is that relevant?
Still a great car
Why is the video so dark/dim??
Which sections of the video?
@@bmwblog Most of it. Looks like editing or lens filters?
👏
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it
Did you just say up the boost pressure??
Bad choice of words
What about the X5 4.8is my uncle had one 🇬🇧👍🇬🇧👍
Hopefully we will drive it also
617HP?!? … I don‘t think so!
I know, we addressed that point. It was an older graphic on the screen. The presenter gave the correct figure
Am I the only one who caught the 617hp rating?
Did we say that? I don't recall. It's wrong if we said that
617 hp? i wish
Did we say that somewhere? I don't recall
@@bmwblogYes when you guys displayed the specs of the car
@@bmwblog Literally 40 seconds into the video
Oh. Editor's fault. I think we had the same display for the X5M video. Sorry. I was wondering if we actually said it or if it was a graphics issue.
It does not have 617hp lol
Did we say 617? I don't recall
@@bmwblog it showed in the video under specs
@@bmwblog @0:40 showed 617hp
