I met her about a year later and she always made me laugh! She passed away last year in Florida where her and husband Roni were living. One night we were messaging about all the fab music from the 80s!. I knew she had cancer. But was shocked at her passing a few weeks later. Fat Larry's band will always remind me of Lia I hope she's listening to her sounds in the sky. Rest in peace liaxxx❤🎉

    • So nice to see your comment 😊 I'm an Aussie, born 1965, so this song harks from my (early) childhood. I don't remember this song specifically but I do remember growing up in Australia with a LOT of American music in the same vein to this one - it's bringing back memories ❤

    • @@27boof Thanks very much for your reply. This song was actually released at the end of '82, so you were nearly an adult (17). However I know what you mean, particularly in the 70's, there was a lot of American music played down under (as everywhere) such as The Carpenters, The Doobie Brothers, Bread, The Eagles, The Doobie Brothers and Boz Scaggs. Play them and enjoy them all...especially the unbelievable voice of Karen Carpenter. Enjoy!

  • Zoom, just one look and then my heart went boom Suddenly and we were on the moon Flyin' high in a neon sky, oh oh Bang, just one touch and all the church bells rang Heaven called and all the angels sang Sunrise shine in the midnight sky, oh oh Oh zoom, you chased the day away High noon, the moon and stars came out to play Then my whole wide world went zoom (High as a rainbow as we went flyin' by) Faster and faster we were higher than high For once in my lifetime I was finally free And you gave that to me Zoom, you chased the day away High noon, the moon and stars came out to play Then my whole world went zoom Moonbeams dancin' in the afternoon Shadows blowin' as the roses bloom Lookin' down on a wonderland Smack just one kiss and I was outta whack All at once there was no turnin' back All so far above the brighter star, oh oh Oh zoom, you chased the day away High noon, the moon and stars came out to play Then my whole wide world went zoom (High as a rainbow as we went flyin' by) Faster and faster we were higher than high For once in my lifetime I was finally free And you gave that to me

  • Absolutely amazing. Whoever votes thumbs down clearly doesn't know what REAL music is.

    • I love this, but there's no such thing as "real music". Just let people have different opinions

    • Uh, don't you think I know that. I'm not being mean or anything but no one asked you to reply to my comment because I hate it when people do that. It gets on my nerve. And yes they do have different opinions BUT I was just saying my opinion, so can you please butt out of my comment, please? If you do, then, God blees your soul but if you don't, good luck in Hell, my sir...

    • Nadege Kimbumina You have to expect people to reply if you post a comment, and you can turn it off.

    • Uh, sorry I was being mean to you. I didn't know what I was saying. Please forgive me. You're just a nice human being who doesn't to be cussed at like that. So just please forgive what I said, it was awfully mean and I shouldn't have said that.

  • An age and time when people actually converse, listen and interact. A time of innocence , no pretenses but pure sincerity ... which Zoom the song is all about. I miss those days.

  • I absolutely adore this song! I fell in love with this song the instant I heard it in a party in England while on holidays. I was barely sixteen then. I still love it today.

  • My dad played this in the car when I was an early teen, haven't heard it since then and I still remembered all the words instantly.

    • He's obviously emulating Stevie Wonder, but with a somewhat weaker voice. (Wonderful song, though.)

  • This BRILLIANT ‘Zoom’ ALWAYS takes me back to when I visited my wonderful aunt in Melbourne 1983, when my eldest cousin and I were “singing”😂 to this with the help of the odd glass of Johnnie Walker!!!! The beautiful everlasting memories!❤️

  • What makes Freddies voice sound even better on this is that he sounds like he's got a cold, which gives his voice that stereo sound 👌🏾
