    • 10:25 I have 5 cats one empties water bowls constantly for over a year. I was hoping it was a kitten thing. I cannot put the water dishes on the hearth of the fireplace. Prince will knock them over and continue to flip the bowl. Or he just likes to swim (literally til the bowl is empty). Causing Frack to cry cuz his favorite water bowl spot is empty. I found the only thing that works is putting the water bowl in a basin surrounded by door stoppers, bottles of vinegar.

    • She kneads and drools all over me at specific times only (namely, in bed after I turn off the lights, and when I'm still in bed having a lie-in on weekend mornings). And she also has a very keen ear for whenever I go to the loo, and will zoom and hop on my knees to groom and take a nap (yes, when I'm in the middle of a poo). I knew I'd have so say bye-bye to privacy when I got a sphynx, but I hadn't realised it would be to that extent ;)

  • I love our weirdo cats, two bonded brothers we adopted a year and a half ago. I just wish they wouldn't wake us up at 5:00 a.m. They pretend they're hungry but really they just want attention. They get tons of attention! I built two tall cat trees with bridges and platforms connecting them for them to have nice vertical space. Then I decided that they needed a catio so I enclosed a third of the deck and built ramp and platforms for them in the catio. These guys have a good life! They get the best quality wet food twice a day and then they riot because they really love the kibble they got as little kittens in the shelter. So they get a tablespoon or two of that as a treat once a day.

    • Our situations are so similar! We have two bonded brothers that we adopted two years ago. They're almost 4 now. They wake us up with their meows around five EVERY morning. We thought we would never get them off of the hard kibble they were eating at the shelter but they now love their two wet meals every day. We still give them a little bit of kibble, just like you, as a treat every day. They are absolute goofballs! Tumble in a big ball as they wrestle and perplex the dogs.😂 Glad your kitties found you for their evermore home!✌️💜

  • My grey tabby does some weird things. I have the litter box in the kitchen. He seems to prefer to use it when I'm in the kitchen, preparing their meals. So, I sometimes have to pause and light a match ☺. He also mostly ignores the water dish, even though I change and wash it every day. My bathtub faucet has a slow leak, so water collects around the drain. He prefers to drink that water. So when I see him walk into the bathroom or see him looking at me from the tub, that's my cue to put some clean water in a glass and "refill" the water around the drain. He also will occasionally sit in front of my tv when it is off so he can watch the reflections on the screen.

  • My cat does a weird thing that I just can’t figure out. He likes to sleep in my bed whether I’m in it or not, but he always slips between the top sheet and the comforter. He will never go under the top sheet, even if I hold it up for him to get under. I’ve used different or multiple comforters, but he still finds his way between the top sheet and comforter. Everything else is just common cat behavior like rubbing his face obsessively on a certain object or ignoring all the cool, expensive toys, but going berserk over a crumpled up piece of paper.

  • I have two orange tabby cats that are brothers whom I adopted last April. Jaxon is my hyper and super smart cat who prefers to sleep in my bed with me. I've noticed a few nights that he would lick and wet a spot on my bed sheets. I guess he's marking hia territory...lol He has his own cat bed like his brother Duke but has since stopped sleeping in it. Im not quite sure why. Duke is my solid and super sweet cat who loves to eat like Garfield the cat. I never struggle to put him in his carrier to take him to the groomer. Its a totally different story with Jaxon. He doesn't like to leave the comforts of home to see his friendly groomer. He really frustrates me. Yesterday, I wasn't going to chase him around the house. I left him at home and took Duke to the groomers.

Second - my cat (Boy named Sue) isn’t really strange, but I do think it’s funny that whenever I come home, he will immediately jump up onto the table, then jump onto my shoulder when I go over to give him his most wanted scratches. 😁. • My in-and-out cat loves playing "catch my tail" where he'll disappear on the outside of my couch where I can't see him and then slowly snake the tip of his tail around the arm of the couch to where I can just barely make it out. I then lightly grab his tail while he turns full-body around and comes out of hiding for a quick back rub and then immediately disappears behind the couch and repeats everything he just did again and again.

My wife and I just look at each other and just shake our heads lol Marshall likes to sit on the toilet with the lid down, and will be there for a long time. He also like to bat the water bowl around. Apricat (Appy), another male cat, likes to stir water and will lick it from his paws. Sherman likes to sleep on his back and sometimes while under the covers. She figured out when I was sleeping, how to lightly do 3 or 4 low headbutts against my thigh so I would, with a minimum of conscious brain activity, lift up my leg so she could climb under the covers with me and curl up between my legs to sleep. She loved warmth. She was my companion for 19 years.

Mind you our weirdo dog loves to play with the cats' small lamby. Simon occasionally thinks he's a Guinea pig and hangs out with the piggies eating their hay and kibble. Why Simon does any of this who knows. He was born feral and has been with us since he was 4 weeks old. When I went after it she tried to hole up behind the cat tree with it. She almost never does weird stuff. One of her daughters takes the cake, though. She's constantly staring at the ceiling, which has one of those spray cottage cheese type textures. • Again, I think it stems from humans relationship with dogs. . .viewed from a dog angle. . .cats are very very weird. But when you step back and look into cat behavior. . .its very much so that cats have their own patterns of behavior for very obvious reasons when you take a little bit to study cat behavior. Jace LOVES being chased. He'll dart around the house and wait for me to catch up only to keep zooming. . .and he very much does wait, he'll sit at one end of the tunnel staring at me until I walk over to the side he is on. He also spits when he gets super excited? Which was very. . .surprising the first few times it happened. . .but now we know that is 'normal' for Jace. He also kinda play bows, like a dog? Sometimes I think he's actually a dog in a cats body. Ajani. . .screams when he wants cuddles or generally any sort of attention. And has very distinct purrs

  • So much of what you go over here is just, the sort of things non-cat people think are weird. I do rhetorically ask my cats why they’re weird all the time, of course. Like, why does my 1 year old boy cat have such strange and varied vocalizations? His “hello, pet me” sounds like a cross between a duck’s quack and a creaky door. But his “FOR GOD’S SAKE FEED ME” is just a regular, loud and persistent “meow.” One of my girl cats can be summoned from across the room, no matter how comfy and settled in she is, without having been trained, by my just continuing to whistle at her for about 30 seconds (I’ve tested, and she doesn’t seem to differentiate between musical tunes and just plain sustained whistles). She comes right over and sits in my lap when I do so, almost without fail. Meanwhile the aforementioned boy doesn’t seem to register any sound I make as an attempt to communicate with him.

  • I find it easier to see this from a cat perspective than a human one. I expect if cats would ask about one weird human behavior it would be why would you willingly submerge yourself in water?

  • Question: I have two 11 month male kittens. SInce they were 12 weeks old I have had them. They came using the litter box. Within the first month I noticed they enjoy playing in the litter box. That's not very clean. Can you offer any suggestions other than distracting them or taking them away from the litter box they are playing in?

  • My cat lost half a pound recently and has been much more active. With that, she started having bouts of zoomies and off-the-wall reactions to things(or nothing). Perhaps some of it this is just having more energy to play or exercise.

  • I agree, we humans must seem so weird to cats. 😊 They meet us where we are, just like we should all do for them. 🐱

  • Hi, my cat is a female and her name is Pixie.. Did you know that a cat's DNA is 95.6% TIGER. and when you notice their behaviour patterns of hunting and stalking, you will see how correct this is.

  • My cat sucks on fleece blankets. Might’ve been weaned too early since mom is feral. Fetches his toy mouse.🐁

  • They're not weird, humans are; I feel I totally understand cats. I'd be a very talented cat.

  • Yes, cats can be weird, yet wonderful. If they were not "weird" they would be boring and we would not all be so taken, totally, with our feline friends.
