Puss in Boots! Everyone loved The Last Wish and my brain won't allow me to do that one before this one and also it's pretty great! So here's everything right with Puss in Boots!

Even though the second film is better, I still hold a special place in my heart for this one. Kitty Softpaws should definitely get her own spin off movie.
its you again!!!!! i see you in all the creators I like
@@thedeliveryboy1123 Haha, great minds certainly think alike, right?! It's fantastic that we keep running into each other, right?! 😁❣️
Sooo… spinoff of a spinoff of a parody😂
@@W3lle thats what I was thinking a " spin off of a spin off"' that's like 16 spinoffs( I know bad joke)
@@W3lleThen do another spinoff with the sidekick in that spinoff
I'm glad The Last Wish made people remember this movie again. The sequel is a masterpiece, but this one is severely underrated
it's the most middle of the road Shrek movie out of all of them. not as good as The Last Wish, 1, and 2, but it is a lot better than The Third and Forever After
@@simonuhrick7674 forever after is a lot better than you're giving it credit for.
@@simonuhrick7674 Bruh, PiB 1 is better than 2
Agreed. The sequel is infinitely better, but this film is still pretty good.
@@gonhunter3994 lol what how
I do like this movie a lot, but it really is unbelievable how much better the sequel is to me. It’s like a completely different studio
To me this one's better. Cause there's no Goldilocks bish & the characters that die stay dead. Unlike Baby Bear
@@gonhunter3994 L opinion smh
@@TheThirdPrice If u want. She literally let her bro die, but the plot saved him from the Star's energy field
It took 11 years to make and it really showed
@@jeffreyquinde6707It didn't take 11 years to make. They started production around 2019ish.
I wish you pointed out that during the chase, Jack and Jill shoot at them and humpty says “hey that was close!” As if it were him being actually shocked at near death but I believe it was more of him telling Jack and Jill that they literally shot too close and to reel it back a bit.
That's a good detail nice
I love it when great villains are recognized for how well the character is established and made actually menacing.
Week 140 of asking for Everything Great About Dead Man's Chest!
Too needed.
Soon, my brother. Never crack
The three person sword fight turning into a full on battle was brilliant
WEEK 140? god damn
Fr
This is a criminally underrated film, and I’m glad that I saw it in theaters!
You are VERY VERY lucky you saw this at the theatres ! I would pay a LOT to see it in theatres 😊
It's been 11 years and I JUST noticed that the center of the P 1:17 should be supposed to fall but I'm just assuming puss is just so smooth that he can break the laws of physics
I love how the animation is still really good. It’s not as good as the Last Wish, sure, but it still holds up really well
I don't think it's worse, or better, just different
@@expensive-brother yeah, I guess it’s kinda up to preference. I personally prefer the more stylized animation of the last wish but I can totally see how it’s subjective
Sure, The Last Wish may look better, but this movie’s animation is still very appealing and looks way better than the previous Shrek films.
@@weirdsio2464I agree.
It's decent
The thing I love most about the Puss In Boots movies is the great rewatch potential. Like Humpty distracting Puss and disapproving of Kitty befriending him, you only realize what that was for after the rewatch. Or in The Last Wish, Goldi drawing her features over a girl next to a human family in her childhood book. They always add foreshadowing and attention to detail, it’s impressive
For some reason, this was my favourite movie as a kid, I'd watch it in my moms bed, on the old DVD player, and then id watch it again, when it was over. This movie holds a special place in my heart.
Omgg 😢 me too this was my favourite movie but now it’s the last wish because yk it’s a sequel for my childhood movie 😊
Right there with ya! I would recite it word for word😂
@@katieblaing Same!
for some reason my favorite childhood movie was cars 2 lol
lol i kinda hated that movie xd@@virginiaallred9777
The 'oooooo' cat at 3:48 made me and my mum laugh so much when I watched this movie as a kid that it spawned a running joke in the family that still goes on today
Dreamworks is amazing, because even their supposed cashgrab spin-offs and milking sequels are still incredibly polished and well made and have detail and everything. So good. Like, just look at the Kung Fu Panda series. Or Madagascar! Even _if_ there's a decline in quality, which isn't always the case, there is still clearly heart put into it. Not to mention a ton of effort for the animation alone. Reminds me of BlueSky and their Ice Age franchise. Milked dry to the bone with sequels, yet always incredibly well made.
Absolutely, Dreamworks is kind of the king of sequels in my eyes. It would be so easy to try to replicate a first movie's success by doing the same thing, but they _continue_ their stories in a way that feels natural and engaging.
I personally enjoy it more in the Latin Spanish dub. Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek reprised their roles in both Spanish dubs (Latin America and Spain).
Can't wait for episode of "The last wish". I have a feeling that it's going to be a long one! ❤
Beginning to end complete joy.
Never have I known Guillermo Del Toro worked on this film. The man has been in all my childhood.
While the second film was a masterpiece, I was shocked by how genuinely good this one was when I went back and rewatched it after like a decade. Like people don't get how actually great it is.
I actually loved Jack and Jill's relationship dynamic and it was Jack who wanted kids and not Jill. It was kinda cute
I feel so vindicated that this movie is actually recognized as being really good now, I watched it when it came out as a kid, rented it on directv and that was a hoot and a hollar
I got really excited thinking we were finally getting an EGA for Last Wish but being reminded of how good the first film was is equally good. Watched it aaaaages ago and had forgotten most of it, this is making me want to rewatch it.
this was genuinely a great movie like the animation it kinda switched i think and it was quite beautiful
Finally a good cinemawins on an older movie like in the old days, not the fresh releases. PS: Still waiting on the rest of Pirates of the Caribbean
Same!
Pirates? I'm still waiting for him to remake his first Hunger Games video and then do the sequels!
If only to hear him praise what everyone who has eyes, ears, and a brain always has to praise; Bill Nighy being Bill Nighy
@@simple-commentator-not-rea7345do you fear death?
Has anyone ever noticed how similar this movie is to the first Thor movie? "Brothers" estranged, one is suave and brave and physically skilled, the other is crafty. Betrayal and forgiveness etc. But the ending with Puss holding onto Humpty and Humpty letting go, taking place on a broken bridge (bifrost) is just so so fricken similar to me. No one else seems to notice this.
I noticed it too! Honestly, Puss and Humpty's arc feels like Thor and Loki's entire multi-film arc rolled into one movie. And it's even funnier that this film came out five months after the first Thor came out.
I love the Dance Fight scene. My college class and I actually did a fencing choreography to the music of that scene.
I think this one is still decent and it’s a nice set up for The Last Wish but definitely just a demo for the true spin off he deserved
I really love the way Puss and Kitty’s relationship is established in this movie. Sure, the sequel improves upon this, but their interactions with each other are still very cute in this first film! 😻🧡🖤
I love DreamWorks Puss In Boots as well as it's sequel!!! The first one was a pretty good origin story for puss!!!
I loved this movie as a kid, the humpty-being-there reveal was overwhelmingly funny to me.
I remembered watching this film in cinemas when I was 7, and honestly this video showed me that it holds up, even if it doesn’t hold a candle to last wish.
I can't believe you didn't show the part in the cell where Jack removes his hands from the cuffs then causally slips them back in when he's talking to Puss 😂
I swear this movie had to have been made off a bet to see how many adult jokes can get fit into a pg-rated movie and i love that so much
This movie was a childhood favourite of mine so I am incredibly nostalgic for it. I still really enjoy the movie now although since rewatching it for a video I made, I have recognised the flaws with this film which hold it back from true greatness. However I still think it’s solid and underrated And I couldn’t be happier that my childhood favourite movie had sequel which is my current favourite
I love Jack and Jill, mainly because of Jack thinking of the future and wanting to raise a kid. I shows that deep down he’s a family man
Speaking of dope animated movie, Everything Great About the Prince of Egypt would be very cool of you
After seeing this film I found myself only able to say "Puss in boots" in the manner Antonio does. Which doesn't happen every day, sure, but more often than one might think.
Ngl, it’s kinda funny that Lee is covering the Puss in Boots movies before the Shrek movies. Great video doe 👍
I don't care however many years it has/will be when this movie came out, this movie will always have a very special place in my heart. Of course The Last Wish is much better, in my oppinion, but this one was also really really good. I rember I used to watch it all the time when I was a kid and never get bored of if one bit. The origin story for Puss was really good, I loved Humpty's character development beacouse yes he betrayed Puss back then I still understand where he was coming from and how he felt left out, and after some time Puss started realizing that too, and the way he proved himself to be a hero at the end and sacrificing himself for the town, I also love Puss and Humpty's relationship development how they started off as brothers, Humpty betrays Puss but after spending some time together again Puss is willing to try and trust Humpty again and give him a second chance andI love how even tho Humpty betrayed Puss for a second time Puss was still willing to give him another chance becouse he somehow still new that Humpty was still good inside and they ended off being brothers at the end again, the love story between Puss and Kitty is honestly really good too, yes it was mostly flirting but also Puss saving Kitty when she fell in the water, Kitty trusting Puss enough to tell him about her story and her saving him at the end really showes how much they actually care for each other, also the details are surprisingly good in this movie. Overall this movie was really really good and I still love it till this day If you decited to read this whole thank you andhope you have a great day
Love love love! Yes yes YES! Perfectly said!!😘👌
Um, first off, Puss and Humpty didn't end off as brothers again, Humpty fell to his death and nobody cries about him. And in The Last Wish, no one, either Puss, Kitty, or the movie critics mentioned Humpty. They didn't care to talk about him for a bit as they focused on the aspects that stood out to everyone.
As a swede i didnt know the english name for puss in boots was acually puss in boots. Because in sweden he is called "mästerkatten" (Master cat) with "katten i stövlar" (puss in boots) being a nickname instead of an acual name.
I cant wait for you to do Across The SpiderVerse!!!
God.. I LOVE THIS MOVIE
fun fact about slipping curse words past the censors, they did something similar in a teen Titans episode by using the word "Jodiendo" which means, basically, fuck
my kids were stuck on this movie last year. Weve watched it like 300 times at least and it was fantastic every time.
Dear Cinemasins could you please make a EGA on Corpse bride?
Can’t believe he did this he did an everything great about a Shrek movie
...how did I miss you covering this for over a month?? I loved this movie~
I'm glad that this movie getting some love. Is it the best? No. Is it a fun watch? Yes!
Would love to see an everything great about Rango! An underrated animated masterpiece!!
Fun fact, after a certain height, a cat's ability to survive actually goes up after as height increases.
“And my name will become legend” being the last line of the movie is so fantastic now with the context of the sequel
I've always loved this movie. It's such a big part of why I personally think DreamWorks has made some of the best movies out there today. Puss in Boots might not be the best, but it's still one of my favorites.
Oh my god I NEVER noticed Mary and her Little Lamb in the orphanage before!
I kinda glad that KZhead allowed this movie to be free before the release of the sequel.
I am so glad you did this one!!!! Been waiting for you to make it!
Can't wait for the eventual 'Everything great about Barbie' video, keep up the amazing work ❤
I'm sorry if this has been addressed already, but would it be possible to add captions for the movie dialogue in the same way you do for the narration? I understand it is more work, but it is sometimes difficult to hear what is being said or the context for the wins and KZhead autogenerated captions barely function. (I know y'all are different channels, but as a formatting reference, CinemaSins does this by making movie dialogue/sounds italicized and a different color text from the narration.) Thank you for all your awesome work :)
I absolutely adored the video that you made here! The ending was hilarious, and please keep this up, because you are amazing! Have an incredible day, and you got yourself a new subscriber :D
I really liked the first Puss in Boots movie as a kid when it came out, but now that the sequel is out I wish they'd given more humorous lines and definitely more Spanish lines to Salma Hayek as Kitty Softpaws. She's Mexican and IMHO, we're ("we"= "Mexicans") are pretty dang funny. Especially making Spanish or Spanglish jokes. She got MUCH better lines in the sequel, I think. I liked her pretty well in the first movie for being a strong female lead, but I LOVED her in the second one! I love her back-and-forth and witty, sarcastic and yet loving banter with Antonio Banderas as Puss.
This movie is INCREDIBLY underrated the plot is just so good if you understand it more , the whole movie is such a masterpiece and it’s my 2nd favourite movie ever and I suggest more people just give this masterpiece another chance and just focus more on the movie itself it’s such a wonderfully created movie with an AMAZING story!
Completely underrated movie
One of the best films of 2011
Ladies, Gentlemen, and that Technicolor Rainbow in between: You all know what this means!
This was one my favourite movies when it came out. I'm a sucker for awesome cats 😼
Honestly I don’t know much about the first film so I’m really happy to see you make a video like this covering it! ❤
It is kinda fitting this is the first Shrek movie to get an EGA video since it’s the chronological first film in the franchise.
This movie holds a special place in my heart but also Humpty scared me as a kid and honestly still does, he's just so unsettling to look at
A few suggestions: 1. The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) 2. Jurassic Park III (2001) 3. Shrek (2001) 4. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald (2018) 5. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022) 6. Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) Also, can’t wait for Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)!!!
Is it weird that I find Lee not getting the SA joke kind of wholesome?
I actually just saw this movie last Friday with my brother, and I really liked it.
With how much you love animated movies, I'm surprised you haven't done "Everything Great About Cars" !!!!
I forgot this Movie Existed And I didn't think in this universe or any multiverse puss in boots the last wish would be a sequel to this movie
Been Waiting For this One!
Oh, right, we didn't have an EGA video on the first one, although I was expecting "The Last Wish" to be the video of the week. I haven't watched this since 2011 where it come out, but it was a fun and pretty to watch film! I hope people see this video and looking forward to "The Last Wish" if there's a plan for that!
This is one of my childhood movies and the sequel made me love this movie even more.
I saw this one as a kid in theatres and now can't believe how much I forgot about it. This is a great movie, I might even say I like these better than the Shrek movies
2:18 - The joke is even more raunchy if you speak Spanish, and therefore know that "huevos" ("eggs") is Spanish slang for testicles lol
Can you please do Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken? Or maybe Elemental?
Everything Great About Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole would be a nice one to do.
This movie is one of about three movies were my childhood. Since the last wish came out, people will either forget to mention (or ignore), or trash on this one just for the heck of it. To be honest it sucks that the only attention this movie is really getting is negative when it's something that will always be special to me. So, thanks! Thank you so much for shining a positive light on this movie! (edit: I just realized all 3 of the aforementioned movies are DreamWorks movies... I don't know what to do with this information...)
Once again requesting Everything Great About Ralph Breaks the Internet and Tangled
7:32 The dewclaw is acting as his opposable thumbs! What you're looking at is the carpal pad!
i was 4 years old when this movie came out and saw it a year later and i love it even outside of nostalgia
I’ve been waiting for this video for so long. I love this movie
Finally this movie gets some representation, thank you:)
I won’t say what I think the joke at 4:31 is, but if I’m right it’s the darkest joke I’ve heard in a kids movie ever
If Puss in Boots is the First Avenger, than The Last Wish is the Winter Soldier.
In the wake of the sequel, this one is getting underrated. I quite like it.
Obviously the sequel is better but it’s super nice to see some positive words about the first one
Actually this one had better atmosphere and actually fits into the world of Shrek more
This is like a batman begins to dark knight sort of thing. The original was awesome, but my god, the sequel is a masterpiece
Cool little fun fact: Puss' name in German is Kater (german word for male cat), which is pronounced like the name Carter and I think that is kinda cool.
Love that they did "he was there all along" in both movies
Can't wait to see you do the second film
Ive been waiting for this one for a while. Glad to see the CW upload as always.
funny thing i noticed when rewatching this movie before watching the last wish is that when you listen to mother goose you can sometimes hear toothless XD nice way of reusing sounds that aren´t that easy to notice at first
This movie will always hold a special place in my heart. The redemption arc of Humpty was flawed, and of course Last Wish is infinitely better, but this movie was one of my favorites as a kid, and Puss in Boots has always remained one of my favorite characters because of this movie (which is funny because I never watched Shrek, only Puss in Boots)
14:16 This is maybe the first time I've gotten the hint for the following week! I'm so excited! Can't wait for your sharp insights and cutting remarks about the whole series!
What is it?
Blade!
I really think your videos are amazing! Thank you for the work you do
Hope this means you’re covering the sequel soon!
Really can’t wait for Everything about the Last wish!!
I know its from the next one but Who is your favorite fearless hero!
A Film From My Childhood! Disney's Bolt next pls? 🥺
This is the original! That means your doing last wish soon? I look forward to that but~ Weekly request for Mean Girls XD
