Glass risers help vent chamber heat while printing PLA. When printing PLA to avoid potential heat creep in the hotend, I usually leave the front door open for venting so the internal chamber stays under ~35C. I primarily use the textured PEI build plate set at 55C. There are many 3D printable modifications for the glass top and AMS on the main 3D model websites (Printables, MakerWorld, Thangs, etc) to enable venting from the top and have the front door closed. I picked these risers linked below to use for now, but plan to try some of the other designs later on.

I want a riser that's convertible, lol, like one that you lift the glass up and it scissors open and stays put
There are models like that available. I have some content coming about my experiences so far.
Very nice! I could imagine, that the printers' vibrations will become audible, through the glass rattling in/on those risers though.. maybe add some rubber stoppers or felt to them? Or heck, print them in TPU if possible?
Thanks. Since I have the AMS on top, it secures the glass snug with the risers. I have not noticed any increase in vibration of the glass. And my home office is in the same room, so I tend to notice any difference in noise from my printers.
@@drachenfire7784 i actually have a set of risers i use for this on my x1 (not carbon ) for this reason i printed them in pla i don't get glass vibration noise. i only swap them in when I'm doing long prints otherwise it isn't an issue.
Wouldn't you want more contact with the glass so the force is spread out more evenly? Especially with how heavy the ams can get?
It feels pretty well supported during the time I’ve had it setup this way. This isn’t my long term plan either, so it’s definitely good enough for me for now.
cant you just open the door?
you can but that was what he was "fixing" he didnt want to leave the door open
Correct @markburton5292. And I was leaving the door open for awhile. I even thought about taking the door off. But if we can print something to use, aren’t we going to? Haha.
