My brother’s beautiful boxer alerted me to a man who broke into my home while I was babysitting her. She led me to him hiding in my shower and then attacked him and chased him out of my house. Boxers are incredibly smart and protective. She was so great to jog with me off leash too. Miss her all the time. R.I.P. Gemma ♥️

Anyone who says dogs don't understand what we're saying is wrong! Lilly is a perfect example of that. She is clearly reacting to the tone of her Mom's voice and playing into it. Boxers are so smart! +Harvles93 Hahaha no no :) They made it illegal as it was deemed cruel and unnecessary because dogs use their tails for balance and communication. It took me a while to get used to though, considering every boxer we'd had previously had had their tails docked. I used to think that they looked very strange with a tail but like I said before, I couldn't imagine Miss Lillian without it now :)

It's very common to dock their tails, our last boxer had a docked tail. However we live in Australia and it's illegal to dock tails and ears here now. Took me a while to get used to it but I couldn't imagine my little wiggle bum Lily without it 😅

I just went to bed, mine would eventually lay in hers when I turned the tv off. Otherwise she'd go out the doggie door for a while and bark and moan or whine at the stars and moon. Good thing my neighbors knew what she was like and they liked her.

Well, it's certainly cute, but you know that this is just learned behavior, right? Lily has learned to respond to YOUR behavior, and when you project your expectations of sulky behavior, she responds by doing this. If someone else was in the room with her instead of you, she'd just lay there on the couch perfectly happy and quiet.

Amazing dogs, great fun, smart and very protective of their family...especially children. They never grow up lol. We have had 2, we lost our last boy, Blaze, to GDV when he was only 3...absolutely broke our hearts.

That boxer looks JUST like my boxer. At least you didn't chop the dog's tail I don't get it why people get their dogs tail cut. Its like losing an arm or leg for us human beings. Edit: So many people still reply comment thread. This shit is fucking annoying.

+TomboyGamerGal Yeah it was the same here but they made it illegal around ten years ago. Our last boxer had her tail docked but that was 16 years ago. I couldn't imagine Miss Lily without her tail (even though I've been whipped by it more than a few times!)
Is it not something to do with the fact that their tail is rather strong and when it wags like crazy, they can break their leg or cause some injury to themselves? Im no expert, I think I read this online so for all we know theres 0% truth in it!
+Harvles93 Hahaha no no :) They made it illegal as it was deemed cruel and unnecessary because dogs use their tails for balance and communication. It took me a while to get used to though, considering every boxer we'd had previously had had their tails docked. I used to think that they looked very strange with a tail but like I said before, I couldn't imagine Miss Lillian without it now :)

It's very common to dock their tails, our last boxer had a docked tail. However we live in Australia and it's illegal to dock tails and ears here now. Took me a while to get used to it but I couldn't imagine my little wiggle bum Lily without it 😅

I just went to bed, mine would eventually lay in hers when I turned the tv off. Otherwise she'd go out the doggie door for a while and bark and moan or whine at the stars and moon. Good thing my neighbors knew what she was like and they liked her.

Well, it's certainly cute, but you know that this is just learned behavior, right? Lily has learned to respond to YOUR behavior, and when you project your expectations of sulky behavior, she responds by doing this. If someone else was in the room with her instead of you, she'd just lay there on the couch perfectly happy and quiet.
