@@jerrywielo2952 Dude, people have tried to take him down and failed. Even Jan who is a LHW couldn't take him down until the later rounds
@@Daniel-xu1xc yeah... but actually no, last time I checked only Derek Brunson really tried. I saw all his fights and they didn't try hard enough though - Kelvin Gastelum (UFC236) did take Izzy down in round 3 but back to head hunt... and Yoel Romero (UFC 248) didn't try at all, DC and Rogan talked about it a lot. Neither Paulo Costa tried... and it was big mistake. Jan showed not only that Izzy can be put down successfully but more important wasn't able to get up at all in round 4 and 5! He was literally save by the bell fully mount! Watch the fight again and listening DC comments! It's a game plan for Jack Hermansson or/and Jared Cannonier
@@jerrywielo2952 Here's the thing, to take someone down you have to actually get close to them first... People can't even get close enough to land a decent punch on Izzy in the MW division so how are they going to take him down? He has a huge reach advantage in his division and uses it very well. Against Jan not only was that mitigated but he also had a huge weight advantage and basically just mowed him down, something people in MW won't be able to do.
@@Daniel-xu1xc yeah yeah yeah ... Izzy is great striker but this is MMA - no one was able to take down Connor - remember? Diaz made a path and next we see Khabib run him like a little bitch... Right lol after Anik told them the significance strike totals they would get quiet a second and then go back to saying "oh wow, look at that jab from Izzy"

Not true at all, did u hear the fight commentary?
@@anders5611 lol 🤣 don't get everything so literally ;) I just laughs at their biased commentary
Yan's interpreter is very inaccurate: too loose interpretations missing important details. For example, Yan told exactly that he was focused on Sterling's hands and felt like Sterling was squatting rather than kneeling with one knee which was interpreted like he was focused on Sterling's hands and throwing the knee when the opponent would be up. Some interpretations are even opposite: Yan said that he tried to utilize Sterling's spinning attacks taking his back (which actually took place a lot of times throughout the fight) and this was interpreted like "I tried not to give up my back and not let him land all these spinning attacks". Great fight with a disappointing ending for both fighters, especially for Sterling. Good health and speediest recovery to Sterling! An immediate rematch after his recovery is the best outcome in this situation. P.S. Even with that rough translation you can get an overall picture. I would just add that English is not Yan's native language, actually he hardly speaks it at all, and a human brain works the way that Yan's one was filtering the voices in Russian, his mother tongue, from his corner at the moment, so the referee's exclamation "Grounded!" couldn't by any chance be expected to be heard by him. On the contrary it seems that among all the shouting I was able to hear "Knee!" in Russian from his corner, but I'm not sure that it was exactly the word. Though he states that he didn't hear his corner at the moment maybe subconciously he did. Anyway I definitely didn't hear the word "head", they could mean a knee to the body, so the responsibility lies wholy on Yan and next time he'll be more cautious and maybe prepare some good Cormier style uppercuts (with the other hand behind the opponent's head) for such situations. What happened to Yan can happen to anyone, but more important is that Yan has a strong killer instinct, it's a crucial part of his style, so such a mistake agrees perfectly well with his style. Edit: It was not "Hit, hit him! Knee!", but "Hit, hit him! Strike!" Some people analyzed it and after relistening to that moment several times I agree with them.
That is so true! I am Russian myself and what the translator says are way off...I can translate much better and would do it for free.
thanks ...

Me and my guys were all pulling for Jan. We were all super happy for him. I'm no Izzy fan but I have to say I was super impressed with what he had to say in the post fight presser. He came across humble, like a champ, and he had great perspective on the loss.
Man it's not the Jan who defeated Izzy it's his ghosty rope bracelet
CAP!
lol dude when i saw he won i was like power of the bracelet
Jans guy in the woods gave his soul for Izzys first loss.
It's weird but that gave me extra confidence to pick him for this fight lol
Jan has a guardian hangman
"I am the best in the world not in the Poland" lmaoo
😅 Let him have his moment. He still has a lot to go before being best in the world. He is thinking it to believe it, I assume. I think he is the best in his weight class overall. But in of KZhead. Ufc is full of casuals. I cave stand it.
@@jairesemccoy9779 he is the best in the world at lhw
At 205 he is best in world.
Jan you deserve this win and more such a humble guy
Izzy is probably the best striker in the UFC, but he's never going to be the goat if he doesn't have top tier ground game aswell.
So happy for Jan. Dude is 38 years old. damn.
As a fan of izzys, super gutted he lost his undefeated streak. However he never really seemed to care about it, and if he had to lose to someone im glad it was to Jan. Glad he will finally gain the respect he deserves. Also impressed how well Izzy took the loss
Wow man, well said.
I think izzy needed that slice of humble pie the belt was getting to him you could tell from the way he changed after beating gastelum
Izzy has said that he doesn’t care about his record and wants to be great so except maybe one or two more losses
Great Heart, Great Fighter, Great Champion Jan gets respect he always deserved saying Israel one of his, "toughest fights". Izzy went full 5 rounds with this great champion praising Jan celebrating his win. Respect, admiration, inspiration both these brothers off the charts...That's what it's all about.
That a boy Jan ,you are always professional and respectful like a true champ.
Jan vs Glover will be interesting... Seems like these older athletes are dismantling younger ones lately. 😲
Dana is salty that he can’t get the Jones Izzy super fight. It WAS 4-1 for Jan. He outstruck Izzy in rounds 1 and 2 and dominated in rounds 4 and 5.
Izzy won round two and slightly round 1
Definitely not 4-1 but Jan did win for sure.
Idk. Check the strike stats by round. It was close but any or both of those first two rounds could have gone to Jan
@@drzedd5212 it was CLEARLY 4-1
1245 Jan was clear
Fair criticism on the commentary team. I noticed it in fight as well. Score cards were wild but Jan was fighting a great fight all the way through. Respect.
Cheers Jan! That fight had me up on my feet
damn Izzy is handling that loss like a true champ that he is
@Fuh Q casual
Well he didn't have much to lose, he's still champion and didn't get his ass whooped so bad, no hard damage so i wouldn't be so disappointed also.
@@nicholasb4548 Drying humping dudes and dancing on their grave is classy? Dudes lucky he didn’t get knocked out cold
@@johnnysilverhand626 bro he living rent free in your head stop it
@@johnnysilverhand626 it was the Costa who started talking shit and going after Izzy. remember that time he wanted to jump into the octagon after Izzy KOd Rob? Costa totally deserved that hump
Lol Dana is so salty, he knows Izzy is where the money is at and is so upset he didn’t win. And yes you do end up with 10-8 rounds when Izzy doesn’t land anything, just because every time Izzy threw something the commentators hyped it up like Izzy was rocking jan even though it was just hitting his gloves and when Jan landed nice shots they didn’t say shit. Foh Jan didn’t have a scratch on his face, if there was 30 seconds left of the 5th round Izzy would have had to been carried out of the octagon
I love the on-camera crew. From Rogan, DC, Anik to Megan Olivi to "Lionheart Smith" to Bisping. But the Izzy/Jan fight was way closer than the commentating team suggested! It blows my mind!
If the round went on for 10 more seconds it'd be a KO.
Izzy feints so much it sometimes looks like he’s doing more than he is
And then for DC to say that he didn't think the third round should have been scored 10/8 while Izzy was getting his face smashed in on the ground ? The ufc judges fuck up a lot but this was a perfect decision they're just biased bc of izzy's star power which is sad and they shouldn't have their jobs if that's how they're going to act
Agreed! I’m watching the tweets come on the screen and the one guy gave Izzy 3 rounds I’m talking to the tv like where?? Izzy is doing nothing! DC tried to stay neutral some. I honestly think Jan won 1,2,4 and 5. Izzy did nothing those first 2 rounds to tell me he won, Jan landed the harder strikes and both had the same pace.
Look at Petr Yan, the dude's face never changes no matter what situation it is. Im starting to worry abt Sterling's rematch with Yan bc Sterling might not walk out of the octagon alive...
Brother u right ✊
I feel bad for petr man. He was whooping sterlings ass
SLAVIC POWER 🇵🇱🇭🇷 BLACHOWICZ and MIOČIĆ

Klitchko
Im Polish with Croatian roots, much love from Poland! May Stipe and Jan rule the two heaviest divisions for a long time
Volkanovski and Yan too. (when Yan reclaims the title lol)
How about Mongol power too? 🤔
Couldn’t even stand the commentary in that fight lol
True but hey aslong as they kept key points fair like when Jan took Izzy down in the 5th round they were on jan
Not surprised, Izzy is the favorite, not just about odds but in general
Last 2 cards the commentary was pretty off & negative. Gane & Rosenstruik got kinda fucked too when both guys got cracked & became cautious for a reason. Ppl forget fighters r human & not superheroes. I get it wasn't what we expected but I saw 2 guys taking heavy shots & going oh, I really can't take a lot of those & keep fighting.
@@DATAYT either way commentary should be neutral and just saying whats going on in the fight
Snoop dogg would be better than DC
Damn they talked to izzy more than Jan and only one person clapped. Shame.
“Would you be upset if you didn’t get a rematch” to Petr Yan... Man some of these questions are really dumb lol. 8:47
“I am going to face Manuwa” - Amanda Nunes
Easy fight for Amanda.
legendary polish power
What Power??? 🤣 I didn’t saw that ! Respect to Jan, but he won because of BORING Ground-Control so NO POLISH POWER AGAINST IZZY !
@@TheBozzPlaya did you see how crisp, clean and snappy his jab was? He didn't throw a lot of power shots because that is super dangerous against a guy like adesanya. I am a HUGE izzy fan but Jan did a really great job interrupting style benders flow with his POWERFUL snappy and accurate jab. Jan had a gameplan, he executed it well to win the fight by decision.
The Kielbasa Killer
He checked the leg kicks, blocked the body kicks, dodged the head kicks, parried the jabs, established his own jab and started hitting him with power to get him backing up, then timed the double leg. Get in the gym and train 💪🏻
@@TheBozzPlaya keep crying adesanya casual fanboy 😭
The last round was a 10-8 to me. Izzy got mounted and the round ended with Jan on solid ground and pound. Much respect to Izzy for his classiness nonetheless. Still a fan of both.
Izzy didn’t acknowledge that Jan was checking his leg kicks from round to round.
Right, I noticed that right away that’s wen I realized it was gonna be a long night 4 Israel. Took a major part of his distancing w. The checks made him stay in boxing range or 2 far outta range. It was a class act from both fighters
@@holinesstothelordexodus2832 wtf
@@TheUnone Israel couldn’t keep Jan where he wanted him because it was painful wen he got his distancing tool (low kicks) checked over & over which made him have 2 slow down on throwing them which gave Jan more openings 4 hand striking. Hope that makes it more clear 4 u. 🙏🏾
@@TheUnone not to mention Jan was checking so good that he ddnt worry about some of the feints even started pushing thru some of the feints & landing some pretty hard shots
