Two of the all-time greats battled in the semifinal match of the 2015 USBC Masters. Weber took issue with Belmonte's towel (or shammy) and let his feelings be known.

Results: the match came down to the 10th frame, with Belmonte ultimately winning and moving on to the title match, where he defeated AJ Johnson for the title. It was Belmonte's third consecutive USBC Masters championship.
A USBC Masters victory for Weber would've made him the second player in history, after Mike Aulby, to complete the Super Slam. The USBC Masters still eludes Weber. Five years later, Belmonte would win the U.S. Open (an event Weber has won a record five times) to join Aulby as the only two players in history to win all five majors.

  • I absolutely love the commentary at 8:22 "Pete broke his glasses, not sure if he has another pair or not" as though this is standard bowling action. Also mad respek to Weber, but dude is the epitome of the bowling crybaby. He gets upset, and then every little thing is "disrupting" them. Somehow it never disrupts anyone else. The towel isn't doing shit, the floor isn't sticking, or if it is Belmonte conveniently never has issue with it. It's great watching him lose.

    • Him and everyone in my league over the age of 55 act the same way. They're all nice at the beginning and when we're practicing. Then when a team of young 20 year olds starts winning, they throw every excuse at us. I have been told I cant have two balls on the return because it is distracting, I have been told my two-handed delivery is unfair and should be banned in our league, I have been told my style is a Cancer to the game of bowling and anyone who uses it is a garbage bowler, been told I cant loft the ball because it can damage the lanes.... Once I complain about their balls still having weight holes, then I am berated for being nosey! Nothing against the older crowd, but out of 22 full teams, maybe 8 of them don't have someone who is retired on them and every single one acts like Petey. XD I have been an avid bowler since I was a child, often my best memories were watching my dad and mom play at their leagues as a child. I always hear about how this sport is needing a new generation of players at all levels; but how can that be attained when a large majority of those who should be teaching and guiding us, turn off a large portion of newer bowlers with negativity? I throw with two hands, so what? If i am physically limited to throwing with two hands because of a prior surgery, should I just quit and find a different passion because old Dewey thinks that anything involving two hands or fingers is a mortal sin? It is a game...
