I feel that the best time to judge a NFL draft class is five years in: We have enough of a range of play to properly gauge a player's impact in the league. Like anything involving scouting, it's an inexact science. Some things deemed to be a sure thing flop or fail to pan out due to injuries. Others fall due to what are considered to be huge risk factors, yet thrive at the next level (and there were a few of them in this class).
For the 2016 NFL Draft, the Windy City hosted several days of football goodness. What did this draft reward us with? Surprisingly a good bit, especially in the first two rounds. This video will hopefully be a good recap of it.

    • @@number3stunner118 I think that game was Matt Gay rather than Aguayo. Pretty sure the Bucs had moved on from Aguayo by that point. The Bucs drafting him in the 2nd round was dumb, but it’s surprising he flamed out of the league as fast and hard as he did. Roberto Aguayo was one of the best kickers in college football history. He seemed like a sure thing in the NFL, and it just didn’t work out. I think the pressure of being a 2nd round pick fucked him up mentally. He has the talent.

    • That Rams team would have gone to the Super Bowl with pretty much any QB Mcvay was basically telling Goff what to do on every play but the Pats in the SB created the blueprint for how to deal with it and once that happened Goff's career went down the drain. As for Wentz, he was great in the regular season that year but we have no idea how he would have performed in the playoffs he could have choked for all we know which is why Foles has to get the credit for the SB win because he actually was clutch and won the playoff games.

    • @@KatarHero72 I would say the jury is still out, whether the ones the Ravens have picked were, truly, not good talent-wise, or they were good, but the Ravens coaching staff has been unable to develop WR talent. I mean, I'm quite sure the steelers aren't better in recognizing WR talent - they are probably just way better in developing them. (also, they have been far less choosy when it caomes to talent, even at the price of personality. The line of steelers WRs who were great but complete head cases is quite long, and even on their current roster they have a time bomb in Pickens. The Ravens have always been reluctant to draft guys with personality/behavioural/maturity baggage - and especially reluctant since the Ray Rice case (who, I hasten to add, never had one single issue on- or off the field before and after that one, indeed outrageous one...).

    • @@bioLarzen With Bateman, i'll chock it up to injuries. Hollywood? I'll say talent/coaching. Perriman was kinda just trash, dude can't catch a ball for shit. Since 2013, only ONE of our first rounders isn't still in the NFL. Fuckin Matt Elam. Could have had Big Play Slay, Rob Alford, Jon Bostic, Terron Armstead, Travis Kelce, Kennan Allen, Logan Ryan, or Honey Badger. But nope, we took Elam.

They still came out with the player they likely would have taken in Chris Jones.
