"I think he's great, but he doesn't like getting hit, he doesn't look great going backwards and I just don't think he's good as he thinks he is" If you watch Romero vs Adesanya, you see exactly what he's talking about. He got hit once by the Cuban Missile and just point fought the rest of the match. If trying to speak objectively as a martial artist is "talking shit", you obviously don't watch MMA. He's so confident in his abilities, he is willing to risk humiliation and scrutiny on the highest level if fails. Not only is that self belief and fearless expression admirable, it's the exact reason he's so successful- he's not afraid to go all in. Whittaker's "humility" stems from a fear of making a mistake on the grand stage. He preemptively feigns humility to preserve his ego incase he falls short. Internally, he's as arrogant as Izzy- he wouldn't be a fighter, risking injury and death consistently, if he didn't have INSANE levels of self confidence- but he veils it to garner fans. Which works until he's met with an oppositional force, like Izzy, that isn't afraid to go all in. Then the snide, backhanded comments, which is how really feels, come to the surface. The beginning of this video showcases that. In short, I'll take an honest asshole over a "humble" actor any day of the week.

    • Humble(verb)- decisively defeat (another team or competitor, typically one that was previously thought to be superior). You’re mistaking the definition of humble he used with the noun. This video fits the channel perfectly

  • Why so many dislikes? Whittaker was way too confident leading up to that fight. Title makes perfect sense, everyone needs to be humbled now and then. I'm a fan of both fighters and hope Whittaker fights for the title again. Dude's a stud

    • Exactly he underestimated Israel. Kelvin would’ve most likely finished Robert if they fought at 234. He kept bringing up the head kick Kelvin landed but failed to mention Kelvin rarely throws head kicks let alone kicks in general. Izzy evaded Rob’s head kicks and the way Robert was hopping in the pocket like kelvin did izzy adjusted to that and made Robert pay each time he came into the pocket.

    • Difference between confidence in ones self and a cocky rude bastard. Rob is one of the nicest guys in the UFC

    • Style Bender Kelvin would've 1000000% KO'ed Robert in the first round. I knew that even prior to the Israel fight. Shame Robert took that opportunity from the guy.

    • Because this fight/video doesn’t fit with the narrative of his other videos. In most of his other videos you’ve got fighters who are legitimately arrogant (not confident) prior to a fight and the video shows them getting what they deserve during the fight. The same cannot be said for this video. Rob wasn’t cocky and was already humble prior to the Adasana fight. Saying Rob was “humbled” is a blatant stretch. I understand that’s what all his videos are called but this one just doesn’t fit with the narrative.

    • Oh no, a fighter was confident in their own abilities to win the fight? Did you miss the fact that Whittaker also said Izzy was an insanely good fighter and all the other compliments and respect he gave him pre fight? I love how people always think a fighter believing in themself means they are trashing another.

    • Fanboys? I'm pretty sure it's because of the title. How can you humble Whittaker. It's like trying to humble wonderboy, they're already humble so this video is stupid. Some of these videos from this series make no sense. Neither does this one.
