    • As a Pats fan, the Seahawks as a team deserved to win that game. One bad call from one person overrode the obvious talent your team had. There is zero chance we could have stopped Marshawn Lynch multiple times with a yard to go. We won this game by fluke, just like we won the game against the Giants in the regular season in our so-called "perfect" season. That was one ugly game and we took a huge beating and all the flukes went our way. The Giants were the only team that whole season I was afraid of in the playoffs and I predicted we'd lose before the game started. Your team was the slightly better one here, one fluke didn't go your way and it sucks when that happens. May you experience a "Brady era" of your own so you can feel the good side of it.

Brady getting older, had lost the last 2 Super Bowls we played in, and going against arguably the best defense of the decade. Just remember being terrified of the possibility of losing 3 in a row. Took Tom’s greatness and a pinch of luck to pull this one out. Chess match until the very end-arguably the greatest game ever played in the history of the sport.

    • WHOAH THERE BUDDY!!! . Settle down. Did you say the greatest game ever? 😅😂 You cannot be serious, right? Seattle could have easily won that game had they given the ball to Marshawn Lynch. Thats stating the obvious but seriously. He was averaging 4.5 yards per carry that game. Even if he got stopped on that play he would have had 2 more times to try and get it in the end zone and to sit here and tell me with a straight face that the Pat's defense would prevent Lynch from gaining 1 yard 3 different times is absolutely Ludacris. Whoever made that call is a complete idiot and should not be allowed to coach or call any play for any NFL team ever again. Oh and by the way Rams vs Titans Superbowl was easily a better game than watching a team get robbed by one idiot call. Also the Patriots vs Falcons Superbowl was definetley one of the greatest Games I have watched for sure.

  • 2nd in goal with a time out & you throw the ball... Couldn't even get that play all in Madden if you stimulated the scenario. coach belichick could have had a lobotomy and I can guarantee you he wouldn't have made that call. It's not like Marshawn Lynch wasn't eating all day... I will go to the grave believing that it was a conspiracy to keep him from being the Superbowl MVP. Just ridiculous

    @ChiseledAdonis@ChiseledAdonis5 жыл бұрын
    • Like most teams on the goalline they try at least one pass, normally second down. if it was incomplete they would have two more downs to run the ball. If you run it on second down and don't get it, you then waste the timeout you have to throw on your next down or risk wasting the chance to go for it on 4th down. Basically they wanted to maximize their chance to use all 4 downs if needed.

  • I think Super Bowl LI has almost overshadowed this game. Thinking about how insane this finish was: Patriots come back from 10 down in the 4th, take lead with two min left. Seahawks begin driving, with one of the two or three best catches in SB history by Kearse putting them in great shape. Then Butler picks it off at the goal line. We don't see interceptions on goal line jam plays in the regular season, let alone the Super Bowl! The swings in momentum are simply swift and incredible. Goes from Seahawks to Patriots to Seahawks back to Patriots in the last seven minutes. 51 was an amazing comeback, but the overall quality of the game from start to finish was better here. Tremendous.

If you think being a "yes man" is running the plays your HC and/or OC calls than you think 99% of the league's QBs are "yes men". Everyone on Seattle overthought the situation is what happened... I bet you even Russell was thinking they were outsmarting the Pats defense by passing instead of running in such an obvious run situation. Being a "yes man" (whatever you define that as) had nothing to do with it. Calling and then poorly running the wrong play in the wrong situation is what happened. Genius.

In my book, the Pats were 0-2 in SBs I had watched, and both had some miracle catch by Tyree and Manningham. So when the Kearse catch happened I had the exact same reaction as Tom, just disbelief. • Your lucky you defeated the broncos winning by a field goal and we beat the chiefs bills Vikings browns and lost to a 3-11 team

    • Many teams don't get to see their team win a super bowl in their lifetime. Don't feel bad that we had two decades of greatness and then it came to an end. We are still far richer than the average fan in terms of how spoiled we were to have Brady. There may never be another like him. Or the several hundred superstar players and coaches he was fortunate enough to have also worked with. A perfect storm. Hell, this wouldn't have been possible without Bledsoe being a team player and relieving Brady when Brady got injured, and doing a heck of a job. I'm still reeling from how amazing it all went. I can carry that to the grave.

  • 1:08 i think this play changed the outcome of the game. Even though the Seahawks got the pick it was agruably more costly than letting them score here

  • I remember watching the interception happen near the end while I watched it with my family in the living room, and it was unbelievable. I was jumping up and down with giddy excitement as I was screaming, "Yes! Yes! Yes!" when the play was switched from defensive to offensive for the Patriots. I'll never forget that unbelievable play as they took home the Superbowl that year.

  • Two things that stand out the most is - edelmans 3rd and 14 catch has to be one of the toughest catches to hold onto considering he gets absolutely destroyed by Kam - belichek having balls of steel and not calling timeout after lynchs first run
