How to turn a (half) Darth Vader voice changer mask into a full helmet-DIY

This is my way how to do it. This was Hasbro voice changer mask originally. I found it in a thrift store, was 8 CAD dollars.
Now it is time to do the rest of the costume!!!

  • Sad but true, the face on the Voice changer is closer to the original than the newest Hasbro released in 2017/18.. except the dome is still way to thin. Nice work tho on doing it up.

    • No problem! The dome is a so called " plastic plant protector" from Dollarama ( Canada), the bottom part is made out of a car bumper.

  • The back of my mask is quite thin, if i were to get those items and attach them, how would I do it?

    • yes it is, I glued two of those "domes" together to make it more solid, but became wavy so I had to put filler all over it! than I screwed the L shape plastic brackets to the mask and with glue on the brackets I joined the rear dome to the half mask!

    • I put auto body filler on the four lines, and I cut a piece of plastic to cover the battery pack opening ( see video)

  • I couldn't find any of these things out there. I tried something else to make the rest of the helmet, by using poster paper as the rest of the base of the helmet. It turned out to be a failure.

    • @@kitman566 I don't have those parts in stock, I bought the top part in a Dollarama (Canada) it's a plant protector (Garden Cloche), the bottom part is a piece of salvage car bumper, but you can use a big plastic protein container instead.
