This is my way how to do it. This was Hasbro voice changer mask originally. I found it in a thrift store, was 8 CAD dollars.
Now it is time to do the rest of the costume!!!

Cool dude, the dark father space wolf is ready for action.
I've been wanting to attempt but wasn't sure if I I could. This video inspires me. Great job
I have had one of these for years and I always wanted the full mask, this is awesome!
That's brilliant. I've been thinking of using the same concept for a few half masks I've got laying around. Good to see it'll work. Cheers mate 👍
I'm glad you liked it! Let me know if you manage to finish any of yours!
Will do for sure. I've got that exact mask and the Kylo that I'm working on atm. Well, when I've got a spare minute that is. But yeah I'd be glad to share my finished products with you. Cheers for the support. 😀
Thanks for the video. Looking to do the same with a Batman half mask. Great job, this is very much appreciated.
I can’t wait to build something like this! You are the man!
YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! I FINALLY FOUND A VIDEO THAT HELPS ME WITH THIS PROBLEM!!!!! YOU'VE EARNED A SUBSCRIBER!!!!
That was my goal, to share my idea with other people to help them!
That’s amazing, Now it looks high quality
That was really interesting and great!
Great technique.
I would of cut the bits of plastic in between the mask and dome piece but still looks good
Looks pretty cool
How cool is that. I am a massive starwars I love darth vader
Wooow! Amazing!
Sad but true, the face on the Voice changer is closer to the original than the newest Hasbro released in 2017/18.. except the dome is still way to thin. Nice work tho on doing it up.
Isn't the Hasbro one based on New Hope and Rouge One?
Very cool
Dude, you are a genius, IT LOOKS SO ACCURATE, AND HOW CHEAP IS THIS?
Very cheap, for me was about 15 dollar all toghether!
@@lefthander3807 Nice, in my country though, it'd be 60 dollars. (in a different currency.)
I bought a used mask that's why was so cheap!
You are a genius
Perfect!
Love the idea! Do you have any templates for the piece at 0:30 (I’ve got the same mask and would love to do this)
Awsome
what was the back bent piece that you put on first??
wait. do you cut the strap on the inside of the half-mask?
@left hander what were those little things you screwed in? Why do you need them?
Those plastic L shape things are to keep the rear fome part in place.
Thank for the video!! Great results! I have a question, what product do you use at 1:44 ?
Hey, thanks always to read a positive feedback, it's just a simple primer, maybe it's better use black under the black paint!
@@lefthander3807 thank you for everything! I am french and I have the project to modify the Vader helmet of supreme edition rubies;)
Brilliant. Fucking brilliant. You have one more new subscriber.
@left hander sorry im commenting so much, but where did you get the items for the back? Home Depot? A hardware store?
No problem! The dome is a so called " plastic plant protector" from Dollarama ( Canada), the bottom part is made out of a car bumper.
@@lefthander3807 but I live in NJ! And I dont know where I can find a car bumper.
@@fizzy7429 You still can find a similar item in Home Depot or else, if you know a auto body shop, or junk yard you'll find your pumper there, or buy Abs plastic sheet.
How did you measure the bottom part of the helmet to get the bumper to the right size or did you just wing it
I made a template using cardboard first
Ok thanks
What spray paint and coating did you use before you spray painted?
Was some time ago, but I think was Rust-Oleum...
Not bad👍🏾
This is a great idea! I think I'm going to try this myself. If you don't mind me asking, what did you use at 0:30 for the back part of the helmet?
I'm glad I could inspire you! That part made out of a car bumper (I'm auto body repairer so it was obvious for me :)
Interesting! I'll give that a try. Thanks!
@@lefthander3807 Is that like a car engineer?
@@lefthander3807 better yet what is the piece in 1:21 on the top
@@Luigiboy-yl7rb a piece of plastic bowl
Hey man I got a frost cover, can you make another video talking use through this process I don't wanna make a mistake sorry if I ask too much about this
HI, I'm really sorry but I'm working on several other project, I don't think I'll have the time in the near future. Just go for it, you can do it!
The back of my mask is quite thin, if i were to get those items and attach them, how would I do it?
yes it is, I glued two of those "domes" together to make it more solid, but became wavy so I had to put filler all over it! than I screwed the L shape plastic brackets to the mask and with glue on the brackets I joined the rear dome to the half mask!
Mega epic
What is the white material used for sealing.
Auto body putty.
You should've used Celldweller's Imperial March.
wat
Do you need the hardener for the auto body filler?
Sure, you'll need it!
What materials did you use? I wanna do it myself for cosplay. Looks good btw 👍
HI, just read the comments below, this question has been answered already! And stay tuned a video is coming in a few days for the hole Vader suit!
What's the template for the back of the helmet (black peace) and what do you use
I used a piece of car bumper plastic!
@@lefthander3807 do you have a template an a list of what to get?
@@lefthander3807 and I can't find any frost covers at my dollars store
I live in Canada and I found it in a local Dollarama store, it might not be available at your location....try to find something similar.
@@lefthander3807 I went looking for the materials during the winter season haha I couldn't find them because they didn't have the spring stuff hahah
What's the white stuff you used to connect/smooth the helmet
auto body filler (putty)
Semen...
Not bad, but I think it’s a little small since it’s just a Halloween mask
It might be not perfect, but I made the rest of the costume and the overall outlook ain't so bad :)
2:45 what’s the imperial march remix called?
How do you do that with the mask how, I want to do that
When putting the helmet on yourself will it still make the sounds and phases
No, I had to sacrifice these features....
What was the first thing that you added in the back did you make that yourself? If so how (right now am trying to make one and am lost)
The black thing at the botton is a piece of car bumper.
Is there anything else I can use or do because I don't have a car 😅
@@theelixwars0690 you can buy some kind of PVC sheet for the job, I guess
That will do I guess thanks and I hope you have a good day and keep doing what you're doing and I hope you accomplished your golds good sir🖖
And what is the metal thing you used to spread the plastic
You mean spread the bondo? It is a rubber bondo spreader made for this purpose!
This is awesome. Only a few actual issues.
Thanks, I know it's not perfect, would be better for the next time!
left hander my only actual problem it that it’s too small, which is kind of the point.
@@lefthander3807 But it is beautiful!
How did you make the bottom back side of the helmet
I cut it out of a junk car bumper than I used heat gun to heat it up to make it easier to bend it
What did you use for the bottom part? 1:21
Hi, it's a piece of car bumper plastic :)
Thank You! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
@@genxspawn9223 ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
you probably should've put some soft foam in there for some comfort.
Yes some soft foam will do the job, you don't need the straps.
How did you fill the four lines and the battery pack at the top
I put auto body filler on the four lines, and I cut a piece of plastic to cover the battery pack opening ( see video)
left hander thanks
I couldn't find any of these things out there. I tried something else to make the rest of the helmet, by using poster paper as the rest of the base of the helmet. It turned out to be a failure.
Sorry to hear that bro, yeah might not everybody has access to the materials I used.
@@lefthander3807 I kinda feel awful saying this, but.... do you think you can send me those two things over to my address, please. I know, it may seem a little bit too much to ask. If you can't, that is okay.... I just think my Darth Vader would look more like a helmet then a mask.
@@kitman566 Can you send a pic to the helmet? I wanna see.
Hi I need to know where I can buy these materials from please
The lower back part is made out of a junk car bumper , the upper( is a frost protector for flowers) bought in a Dollarama store in Canada.
Junk car bumper?
I need to do this with mine and don't know where go start
Can you help me with some websight
@@lefthander3807 CANADA? ;OOOOOOOOOOOO
How do you put it on your head and how do you make the sounds
My head is fitting in nicely, the sound function in not working enymore.
Trying to do this with the new clone trooper mask, any tips?
Do or do not, there is no try!🙂
Where'd you get the pieces to make rest of the helmet??? Did you 3D print the lower piece of the helmet?
Not 3D printed, the lower back part is a piece of a junk car pumper, the top part is a kind of flower pot.😀
@@lefthander3807 I have the exact Darth Vader Helmet. And also, do you sell any of these parts. I might be interested in purchasing one. No offense, LeftHander.
@@kitman566 I don't have those parts in stock, I bought the top part in a Dollarama (Canada) it's a plant protector (Garden Cloche), the bottom part is a piece of salvage car bumper, but you can use a big plastic protein container instead.
@@lefthander3807 thanks. I'll see if I could get some of those things
@@lefthander3807 Do you mean protein powder container plastic? Like the plastic jar that Muscle Milk comes in?
is there a different way to do the back piece at 0:30
Might be different ways to do it, this is just my way...
left hander could you use a plastic used for vacuum forming ?
I don't know that kind of plastic but could work if it flexible enough...
Ok thanks plus helmet looks sick by the way!
@@jediaidan1960 I know right!
Can you do a have mask video of kilo ren helmet and a storm trooper helmet
Sorry, I'm working on a bunch of other project, I don't think I'll have the time....but the concept is the same just give it a try!

What plastic do you use
Bumper plastic!
Whaoooo
the company who made it is kinda wrong, it supposed to be wider, the neck guard
Yes, you're right, but I had to follow the shape of the mask...
C mamo
I bought a second hand Rubíes full helmet for 20 Bugs. Donde. The stuff you are using on the video and the mask IS more expensive.
Yeah, that's a way to get your Vader helmet as well, I bought that half mask for 5 dollars in a thrift store back in time, probably I wouldn't do this conversion today.
the manufacture went from a full mask to a half mask what a cheap thing to do
What is dis? 0:31
A piece of used car bumper :)
@@lefthander3807 lmao...

Idk what size every thing is and he dose not say what the material is that’s a dislike from me comment if you can tell me any thing
You can dislike if you want, many dislike have no reason at all! The size of everything is mostly depend on the size of the half-mask you have. Regarding the materials, just read the comments, we were talking about it! Good luck!
left hander ok thanks I did already and I made it out cardboard though (:
And did you make a video about the lightsaber
@@funnybrickfilms1727 yes, I have a video about how to make a lightsaber for cheap!
It looks out of proportion now.
quick question, how do u put it on?
Simply as a biker helmet
