Heart-stopping, adrenaline filled stories and dangerous journeys.
In this episode, we follow two brothers, Khalid and Dawoud, who travel daily along the Lowari Pass - a 150 mile road across the mountains of Pakistan - transporting sugar in their truck. Ten kilometres of this road are dubbed the ’Death Tunnel’ by the locals. Across breathtaking cliff faces and with common landslides and avalanches, any error made is fatal.

My grandfather was a best truck driver of his time, he worked in mangla dam(Pakistan's biggest dam) during its construction, he trained many people of our village and gave alot of slaps to trainees. Those people are still in truck industry and now their new generation. Whenever those people meet me they tell me good stories of my grandfather 😆😆

He is brother to him , these are not trucks they are trash. So to drive them you need to learn by this method , a small mistake and you are dead. So the next time he is about to make a mistake he remembers that slap.

Wow that must've been an interesting experience. I have a lot of respect for the soviets who fought in the war, I am from pakistan however I am interested in the history of the soviet afghan war. I personally think the soviet songs that came out about the war were great too.
Living in South African, have always complain about a tar roads potholes and not so maintained village tar roads. After watching this video, i feel shuttered. The people of Pakistan needs more, hope government will put up something and permanently discontinue the use on this deadly road. God bless the family of those who have passed on this road and may their souls rest in peace.
This is a 17 year old documentary,the roads have been fixed,there are tunnels connecting those places.China is also pretty involved in that region.

1:34 - This is our driver for this truck. 1:38 - Alright, he(referring to the boy) works with us as well and these two are brothers(both the driver and the boy). 2:38 - The truck is like a second home to us, we drink,eat and even sleep in it.The amount of time we spend inside the truck is roughly the same as that of what we spend in home. 3:32 - When we some a joint to take away the difficulties of the journey. 4:34 - Khalid(the boy who is walking outside in the mud to assist traversing through the mountains) get in the second car(truck). 5:35 - Look here, the first part of the journey is done and now we move on to the second part to go to Chitral alright? (he says alright to get the confirmation from the camera man if that answers his question.I assume the camera man asked him something like where are we now and how farther away are we from reaching the destination?). 5:54 - The road is tricky and difficult. We are going downhill and because we have to apply brakes a lot , the brakes get hot and lose effectiveness. That's why we are going slowly through these slippery and sharp turns. 7:15 - (I think the camera man asked him a question about there being a lot of snow on the road and what he would do in such a scenario?) What could i possibly do? I'd have to just wait and stay there. (Now the camera man asked him another question which we don't hear and its probably about the roads being very slippery). Ummmm Brother in this type of situation I can't do much to control the truck. I guess it goes which ever way it goes. 7:28 - Look at this now, the truck ain't turning because the road is slippery as hell.This is the way to go, what else can we do? 8:38 - Camera Guy: What happened here? Driver: The road is blocked because of the mountain and the landslide.They will clear the road probably by tonight or tomorrow. 10:38 - This is how the truck arrives here, just a frame, and then we finish decorating it like this one. These drivers spend money on decorating their trucks and we decorate it for them. 12:04 - Truck owner: This is how they have decorated it. I had them install stereo speakers and some light bulbs as well. 12:22 - (Guy explains why they decorate their trucks) Its like a competition, kind of like when a man wants to get married and he wants his wife to be pretty.Thats how it is. 13:25 - Go on, get in. 13:38 - I am letting him drive so he can learn how to drive. 13:48 - Its 3'O clock now but what can we do? There is no other choice. 14:14 - Go go go go keep going. 14:26 - Careful, You will have to shift the gear. 14:31 - Go on, shift the gear 14:34 - You shifted the wrong gear 14:36 - Turn it this way. Smack! Step on the breaks! Smack! Can't you fucking (Smack!) turn it right ? 14:42 - I'll fuck your mothers cunt mouth.( Its a slang or something, hard to translate this. Funny how he says that but they are brothers :D) 14:46 - (Looks at the boys hand and its not on the wheel but on the gear stick. Remember folks always have both hand on the wheel ! :D) Take your (Smack!) damn hand of the fucking thing(literally refers to the gear stick as "your dad") and grip the steering wheel properly. 14:54 - Go on the other side, GO SLOW ! Get on the other lane and overtake them. 15:00 - Put your hand on *something and apply the brakes, fuck your mom's feet!(no idea what that means) Get out now.

What amazing filming and production. Very enjoyable but thought provoking. The people of the noble country of Pakistan do not know anything different, and it is not our place to judge. I just hope they can live their life in peace, and that little girl will grow up strong. God only knows what might happen if the virus got loose over there. It is our job now to pass-on our technology to them. I can't credit these people in this video enough for keeping those 50's British Bedford trucks in running condition.
Oh bro those trucks break down like a million times a day. I have to trek through this motorway where there are always ancient pimped out trucks on the roads surrounded by a bunch of bricks. I'm surprised they still make parts for those

last summer i been there for 15days in Hunza area. PEOPLE ARE pretty friendly and have good character. THE scenery is great suffocating view to me. I HOPE i will visit there again.

I saw this documentary on National Geographic when I was kid. This documentary must have been made in late 90's. Roads are much better there now but its still very dangerous
Not the 90's this show is called Deadliest Journey's and they filmed few episodes in different countries between 2010 and 2011.

The trip from Dir to Chitral is a bit more than 100km - and there is now a tunnel that saves the trouble of going up the mountain and down the mountain.
