  • This house is slated to be done by Fall 2020. We're aiming for a 7-month completion, although it's been a year process to get to this point! In the end, it will all be worth it. Airbnb link coming soon ;)

    • @Robert I am 100% certain you could not find a house of this caliber, in Joshua Tree for less than $350K.

      @Robuilt@Robuilt3 жыл бұрын
    • @@Robuilt We are seeing area comps north of the 62 of around $350k-$400k. So yours being south and so close to the park, surely would sit around $450k if not more. Also Rob, can you share utility connection costs? Asked a few days ago above...

    • There are other videos that have discussed this - A few years ago, if I recall correctly from the video it was around $50K before they could begin construction - but I think that was because they had to run electricity and connect to water, plus cost of septic. Here is an old Reddit thread discussing the subject: www.reddit.com/r/JoshuaTree/comments/8kql2y/buying_land_in_joshua_treebuilding_a_small_home/

    • prices in joshua tree rent and house market has gone up cause of this air bnb business which is a bane for us locals. Then covid hit and all the people from everywhere comes in to party in these air bnb's. I wish you guys build air bnb's in Montana or North Carolina or something. We have suffered enough!

  • Prices in California are wild. I know because I live here. We purchased our 5 bed, 3ba house, with a huge pool, about 20 years ago for in the SF Bay Area. We paid $125,000. It blows my mind that this little one is almost twice the amount. 5 years before buying our home we purchased a Duplex, also in the SF Bay Area, for $69,000. We sold it for $350,000. It's now worth over a Million. I love living here, but housing is absolutely INSANE.

    • It's a major problem because many working class people who have lived in the area for generations can no longer afford to live there. It's all because greedy developers buy up properties for cheap and replace them with expensive elite housing that most people can't afford. Too many American cities are moving in this direction.

  • That is a nice house. I would put an entertainment stand with a built in electric fireplace, witch would have electric flames instead of real ones, and you don't need wood or to have to open a flew. Showers are nice that you can step into, instead of over a tub. The carport with the side door is convenient so that you can park in the shade and go directly into the house from the carport.

    • The only way to keep the costs down is to build most of it your self and do all the finishes yourself too. My cousin built a 4 bedroom 4 bath and a 3 car garage for 380k last year but her and her husband and my dad and other family members all helped out for free to get it done. The floors, painting, trim work, installing kitchen cabinets and bathrooms all with out hiring some one. I would estimate she saves 150k on labor alone. Its the cost of materials that is insane in the us.

  • Cleaning costs will also be about $150 each time, so $1,200/month minimum, plus utilities like you said, home supplies, etc., you are looking at another $2K/month. My house is right up the street and I make about what you do, so gross earnings are pretty spot on, but there are a lot of other little costs other than just mortgage.

  • Hey dude! Just found your channel and I think you provide such good insight. I'm planning to buy a single family house this summer and turning it into a house hack.

  • Dang dude you hit the lottery with this home like 5min away from a trail cool. You’ve inspired me to one day own a small home/ tiny house and have it as a Airbnb.

  • You're killing it. Curious as to why you chose Joshua Tree for your next builds and why you're going with airbnbs over long term rentals also writing this halfway through the video so if you answer this later thanks in advance😁
