@Ghent Purdue LOL I was just about to say sounds like the California prison system.
Like, what did they expect when they transferred new prisoners in the island? They'll accept the island's leader as their own? Obviously not, It's gonna be the same as when they all fought on the island
@Ghent Purdue Russian troll alert
"Russia and America sends 420 convicts on an island" Britain 1700s: *You gotta pump those up, those are rookie numbers*
An island that’s a bloody joke I got a fukin continent
The woman saying “there is no fish in the area”, is a terrible way to explain how she knew he was lying about the prisoners being so far away was to catch fish. There is no reason for her to think that was suspicious, as the prisoners wouldn’t have figured that out yet. If anything it would actually sound like a rational reason for them to explore new areas to try and find fish.
Ikr
That's a good point. Also, the fact that it would make sense that some people would want to leave the violent group, making this action seem more "normal" rather than "suspicious".
The way everything was setup it looks like somebody wanted all of them to die but they had to follow some protocol. Like why would you put a communication beacon in the ocean instead of leaving it on the land? Likely procols demanded "there must be communication access". And then whoever was implementing it was like "ok where can we put this so that it's the biggest chance people will die trying to reach it".
I don't know if the way that he said like in grammar and so on it made it seem like they were successfully getting fish. But other than that you make perfect sense. It would be natural for some level headed people to leave the group and also to see if they can find food elsewhere.
also they were put in there to colonize the land, so that's what they were doing.

This loosely based on Nazino tragedy, when the Soviet Union deports about 6,700 prisoners to Nazino Island in May 1933. Nazino Island is a remote island surrounded by rivers deep in Siberian Taiga. They were left unsupervised with only flour to eat. They have no tools nor warm clothing. Those who attempted to leave were killed by armed guards. There are reports of violence, cannibalism, widespread disease, rape, and abuse of power by the guards. Horror story that made even Stalin himself disturbed when he read the report
Just when i think i have read about all the horrors of humanity and that there's nothing worse I don't know, I find out something like this actually happened sigh.
Aiyo "rape"? In an all-men detention camp? Pretty sus.

This reminds me of Suicide Island where those who wish to die are sent to a deserted island to live for the rest of their lives and fend for themselves and of course a lot of them end up committing suicide (cause that's what got them sent there in the first place) but some slowly realized they wanted to keep living. Also precious to those who are suicidal, the island was originally used for life sentence criminals. So there is this drug boss guy who gets a thriller out of manipulating and killing people (manipulates his followers and kills his rivals) later on a reporter ends up on the island following a conspiracy theory and it ends on a hopeful note of everything coming to light and the governments involvement.
The weird part in suicide island is that it's actually being monitored by the army. So when the resident is trying to flee from that island, the army shoot them
There isn't a suicide. There groups of thugs fighting for death for survive
I've watched 15-20 movies in a row without actually watching it.. so good..straight to the point
Obezyan is a total psycho. Why would he kill the old man who is not a threat to him in any way at all?
Because he is a useless eater
Why ? Refer back to your first sentence:)
He’s old and not much use besides story telling
Probably for the jacket the old man was wearing
Lol you just answered your own question. 2+2 = 4. So why is that when I add 2 and 2, it results to 4?
The fact that this has actually been tried before is also sickening. Yes, take your worst prisoners, who all have some kind of severe mental defect or mental trauma, and a personality matrix that makes them have preference towards violence and self reliance, and see if they can build a civilization.
I mean that’s how America was made 🤷🏽♂️
The soviets did that. Stalin sent a bunch of unwanted people to an island with a few sacks of wheat. Most died

Did anyone ever see the video where a WWII Russian Veteran caught up with an American Journalist? He wanted to tell him a story, his testimonial of being a captive in a German POW camp. He mentions there were also a bunch of American POW's in the camp, as well. They were separated he states, and the Russians were treated the worst out of all. When a Russian had passed away, they would still bring them out for a head count, so they would still get that person's ration of food for the day. The Veteran was a Dentist, so he was allowed to visit the different POW's of the camp. He wanted to make sure that the Americans knew he was very grateful for what they had done, during those dark days. The American prisoners saw how bad the Russians were treated. Everyday they would throw a bunch of their own rations over the fence, to help feed the Russian prisoners. I'd like to think that's how the two groups would act in this scenario. But, things were a little different in both situations and this movie, of course, was a fictional tale.
You are comparing soldiers to criminals here though.

Some translations of Russian prisoners names if anyone’s interested: Moryak (Моряк)-translates to a «sailor» Yakut (Якут)-refers to an ethnic group in Russia that mainly lives in Republic of Yakutia (Sakha) Obezyanka (Обезьянка)-translates to monkey; supphix «ка» is a diminutive one which makes the word also translate as «small monkey» Obezyan (Обезьян)-also translates to monkey but обезьяна in Russian is a feminine word (а in the end makes it feminine to be exact) so they got rid of а in the end so to make it seem masculine Tolya (Толя)-just a name Tolya (Full name Anatoliy) Zhilin (Жилин)-not sure myself what it might refer to as it is just a last name; but it also seems to be similar to a word Жизнь (Zhizn’ which translates to «a life») Staryy (Стырый)-translates to «old, old man» Estonets (Эстонец)-translates to «an Estonian» (male) Shram (Шрам)-«Scar» I’m not sure what Sipa means tho, if anyone has an idea of what it refers to, please write down below, thanks
In a some south slavic languages sipa means cuttlefish (I think it is? Im sure it translates to some kind of see animal) so maybe that

Underrated comment they keep bringing up Stalin … Iike Australia doesn’t exist 😂
britain also dump their imigrant in african country and it happening now
I could be wrong but if I recall it was a penal colony
This isn’t similar lol, technically speaking Australia was already had abundance of resources to start a society this is how Australia created their first major societies because of the natural abundance of resources and supplies on the land
Wood to build houses and fortress, stone and raw hard materials for weapons and materials and machinery, fertile land for farming and agriculture, gold and diamonds for mining and selling for millions, don’t ever compare Australia to the soviet case the soviet island case was far more disturbing and worser for Australia case where they dumped prisoners on a island in reality they dumped a bunch of prisoners into a paradise with everything they need
lol the writers are like talking to each other "Dude I got this awesome idea maaayn. OK all these prisoners are like dumped on this like Island durde and like..." and the other guys like "How many are we talking?" "I don't know durde like a few hundred or something" "Duuuurde! this actually happened back in Soviet union but with Women and cannibalism included.
funny thing is, if the laws in place were more just and the actual crooks went to jail, they wouldnt end up with the surplus amount of criminals. when people lose faith in the system and see no other way out, their only option is crime.
When teens born to teenage welfare dopers decide they want to be gangstas they resort to crime
Or just go back to the Old West system of law. There is one crime - breaking the law. There is one judgment - if the sheriff thinks you are guilty, then you are guilty. There is one punishment - hang em. Re-offending rate would drop to zero if we did that. And the prison population would not be far behind - the only time you would be in prison is while waiting for a gallows and a hangman to be free.
@James Herrera "bb-b-bbut what about the Americans giving alcohol to the natives? Good Americans must be allowed to toke weed today, to make up for their ancestors crimes!"
