I just noticed that Prof. Sada is wearing a bone necklace and what looks like a handwoven top under her lab coat while the male prof is wearing a cybernetic suit. Given the box legends, I imagine they're connected with each legend. Edit: Also, "lechón" is a Spanish word for "pig."

It looks like Professor Sada gets her name from "prasada", which means past. Turo from "futuro", which means future. The legendaries definitely look like they could be the same pokemon from different times. Also Lechonk comes from lechon which means piglet, so clearly the best possible name for an evolution is Elchonko, which would come from "El Chancho" which means "the pig"
These games will definitely be hugely based on time, and I’m convinced they are the same pokemon in different times. I also think there’ll be a third based on the present. Also I worship lechonk

Just to clear things up, the legendary pokemon are motorcycles mixed with Anoles so the thing on their chest is the dewlap of the anole and the tire of the bike. The red is an old chopper and the purple is a futuristic hover bike which is why is has the jets.
The "Lechon" part in the name Lechonk is actually a dish of a whole roasted pig in Spain and many other Spanish speaking countries, we also call baby pigs "lechón". Since it seems that the game is based of Spain, then they used the word "lechón" for the name while adding the chonk to it, which I loved. So basically it isn't French, but it certainly sounds like it.
The “Seed” is called Smoliv, because it’s a small olive. I LOVE that name ueueueueue,,,

If you look at the two professors one looks more traditional with a tooth necklace and the other has like a amour suit under his shirt. The legendaries also look like a traditional vs futuristic vibe. One looks like metal and cosmos and the other looks like it has a native headdress.

Yeah its very cool that the box art legendarys are essentially same pokemon from different times. It's also cool the professor for Scarlett is old school too. I got a feeling depending on which game you choose one will have you looking to the past to solve whatever the issue is and the other will have you looking to the future
The Legendary of Scarlet represents the past n culture meanwhile the Legendary of Violet represents the future n technology This is my guess
That theory goes really well with the clothing of the professors in this game. The girl has a bone necklace and what looks like old school hand woven clothes. And the guy looks like he is in a skin tight tech suit
We eat lenchonk here in the Philippines Also lenchonk comes from lechon(a filipino/spanish roasted pig) and chonk iy also means piglett in spanish.
I'm pretty sure Lechonk is inspired from Iberian Black Hog. also the Spanish name Lechon for roasted whole pig.

I think the design for professor sada and legendary pokemon of scarlet are based on the era when the world wasn't much advanced and people weard clothes made out animal leather and fur and also necklaces made out of fangs while the design for professor turo and the legendary pokemon of violet could just be based on the more advanced and modern era with greater science and technology. It could just be true because professor sada is wearing a necklace made out of fang and koraidon also has some resemblance to that and if we look closely we can see that professor turo is wearing a sleek body suit underneath his lab coat and miraidon looks some what robotic itself. Well it's just what I think..

Theory: The legendarys are based on the past and the future with Koraidon being primal like and Miraidon being futuristic
In Japanese, Korai means ancient and Mirai means future.
And to further this theory, the female professor is wearing an attire that appears caveman or tribal like while the male professor is wearing like a jumpsuit for techy people
This is not a theory… this is an officially confirmed fact
The player-player feature in this game is what the wild area tried to do. Before I hopped on wifi in Shield, two other people were in the room with me playing the game when we went into the wild area for the first time and saw each other's characters connected locally. It was really cool at the time, even though we couldn't be more than 10ft apart from each other before we blipped off the screen and you couldn't actually tell what the other person was doing in the overworld. Though it was fun to do raids like this, I hope the new games actually lets people get immersed in the game with friends on screen without the limitations in Shield.

My guess is that they might introduce a new mechanic where the player transitions between the past and the present of the region, similar to Skyward Sword. Also, the Orange and Grape flags make me think there will be a rival school, depending on your version. With the colors, scarlet and violet, I am also thinking we might get a third game for this gen; Sangría, maybe?

Something I've realised about the box art is that Koraidon is facing the Nintendo Switch logo symbolising the present is ahead of him, and the opposite is with Miraidon with it facing its back. Probably not intentional but looks cool.
I think they are versions exclusive professors so the lady will be in Scarlet and the man will be in Violet

The derpy-faced electric Pokémon is called Pawmi, and seeing as it's an electric mouse, I'm pretty sure it's the Pikachu clone of this region. Also you're right Smoliv (the Seed Pokémon's name) DOES look like a Digimon LOL. But it would probably be a Baby Form Digimon based on its size.

Historic vs Futuristic is very much a theme in these games based on the two professors outfits. The pokemon company's website confirms the professors are version exclusive with Sada being Scarlet and Turo being Violet. And something fun? Namona, your friend is confirmed to have Pawmi, Lechonk, and Smoliv on the website too. In the battle tutorial at the start she asks if you are "these three's Trainer". So...do we actually get all three starters???

The Pokemon content that the multiplayer is gonna produce is exactly why I'm excited for it. Otherwise, I only have one friend that plays Pokemon regularly enough to do multiplayer stuff with.

If you look at the professors outfits, you can see that Sada has the same aesthetic as Koraidon (the red one) and Turo has the same aesthetic as Miraidon (The purple one) Implying that they might be version exclusive professors that have to do with the legendary of their game. On top of that, "Mirai" means future in Japanese, whereas "Korai" somewhat translates to ancient. Definitely past and future, which might have to do with the evil teams. Also (sorry for dragging this on) this could potentially be spoilers, but someone on reddit posted about the professors Sada and Turo seeming like they could end up as evil team leaders for the past and future evil teams as a villain twist like Lusamine or Chairman Rose but idk if that's true ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (hopefully a cool plot like that)

I've heard so many people say Nemona's glove is the tool for the new gimmick, but I think John's right. A shooting sleeve makes sense to me because Nemona is not good at throwing pokeballs. Maybe she's got a bad elbow due to a previous injury or something.
