    • These are the professional units, so they don't just get conscripts by default like the rest of the normal millitary units in Norway, but have to get volunteers of sufficient motivation and fitness level to sign up. So to the military this is advertisement to appeal to those people to volunteer. That is why they let Magnus do this, because it is free advertisement for them. Really they should pay Magnus for the ad content just like any other advertisement agency, but i guess Magnus gets enough money from the KZhead exposure to make it worth while any way.

Your brain's natural instinct is to back out from danger, but in order to neutralize it you really have to make a quick and overwhelming entry. So someone literally has to push you in to danger when your natural instincts tell you otherwise.

  • What I respect about magnus is how seriously he takes all of these situations, its also likely one of the big reasons they allow him to participate. Most youtube content creators always try to make things like these seem "fun", laughing and giggling in every scenario. Im talking mostly about the training scenarios, he's attentive and fully engaged in the topic. Also I'm not saying its bad to laugh sometimes, or to have fun. But constantly doing it is just a sign of immaturity. Magnus is there like he is being recruited, its a lot more of a showcase of what goes on in the coastal ranger commando and less of a content-oriented "fun" trip to a normally serious profession. And I love that.

    @Skyflairl2p@Skyflairl2p8 ай бұрын
    • I was a seargeant in the swiss army, which is a militia. When we did things with scenarios, we could see that it is very personality dependent if someone can get into the head space and take it serious or if someone just can't do that. Large part to that is also how it looks. If someone has to play through a scenario looking at a cardboard on a stick, it's way harder to do that instead of doing it with either clothed dummies or even in two teams, blanks and gear that tells you if you're hit or not. Same for firefighting exercises: if you can just make a room dark and fill it with disco smoke it makes a huge difference to putting a sign on the door frame so you see what should be inside when entering.

I was thinking first how you could record that, but you had like 2 camera angles of everything and inside shots before entering rooms. Now I wonder who filmed you and how everything went, like a behind the scenes or introducing the people. And that looked really badass, ngl. Also the guys from the military all seemed like pretty nice and chill people.

  • There's a reason why the UK Royal Marines and Special Forces are trained in Norway with/by the Norwegian Forces: they're some of the best in the world, and the environment is one of the harshest and toughest! It was great to see that they seem to employ Mixed Martial Arts (boxing, jiu jitsu, etc) in their hand-to-hand combat training, and I feel this is absolutely necessary. I loved that the dog had little "socks" or "boots" on his feet lol, though I imagine this is a safety precaution. Dogs are certainly a man's best friend, but I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of their duty! lol Thank you Magnus for giving us an insight into the Norwegian Coastal Ranger Commandos, and thank you to them for allowing this to happen! These dudes are amazing, and I'd love to see more! Love and respect from the UK, and here's to a long continued friendship between UK and Norway! 🤘
