  • hmm, it was sean's to win and he didn't use enough kicks, ONE leg kick, props to jared for keeping the stamina, the dude is very athletic, you can tell what a battle it was by the way they showed respect, sean also needs to remember that a single take down can win a round..he's just too stubborn

  • Jared is a known heavyweight… he definitely felt those strikes that’s why he Sean was on his bike ultimately what loss him the fight he did land some clean punch combos but only on the back foot barely stood his ground. Jared controlled most of the center Sean controlled the pace but Jared wanted it more he really wanted the finish

    • I haven’t seen round 5 yet but each round is really debatable, 1 I give to Jared he had the stronger strikes and had Strickland on the back foot, 2 I originally gave to Jared to ended up switching because when Strickland started to jab and hit Jared it was throwing way more strikes and backing him up, I gave round 3 th Strickland for the same reason. Round 4 I almost gave it to Strickland because Jared stopped pressuring after the first 2 minutes and Strickland started to pick him apart, but then at the end he threw some bombs at Strickland. Right now I have it 2-2. Would give it to Strickland I think he won round 5

  • This is why MMA or UFC judging criteria suck! How tf could anyone ever decisively judge fights like this based on the current criteria? Did Cannonier land the more significant strikes in most rounds? I think so. But it shouldn't be based on what somebody thinks. Strickland held his own regardless. Thanks for the upload though!

  • Sean going to train with Perreira after his loss to him has taken his ability of checking low kick to the next level. You can see in this fight Sean is avoiding them, whereas in the fight with Izzy he checked most of them.

    • DDP’s game-plan is probably immediate takedown and making it a ground-fight until he gets a chokehold. I am looking forward to seeing how good Sean is with this because everyone knows he can grapple, but we never see it when he fights. If DDP were smart then he would assume Sean’s ground-game is weaker than his striking for lack of experience implementing any ground-game on fight-night.

  • I get the controversy but I do agree with the judges on this one, Sean only really won with head strikes almost doubling Jared’s headstrikes however Jared’s head looked the same as when he hopped in just with sweat while Sean’s face was covered in blood so either Jared’s chin is amazing or Sean doesn’t hit hard either way it makes it seem like Jared would just keep taking the hits while Sean would get hurt by Jared’s hits if they kept going

    • 🤣Most mma fighter's are B and C level athletes that were not exceptional at anything. Strickland has good boxing for mma, but his skill is basic compared to an elite boxer. Especially at the higher weights, the athletic guy's that weren't good at a specific sport started training mma. Jamahal Hill is a great example, big guy that could play basketball but was average compared to those he was competing against. He quit basketball and college, then some years later tried mma.

Nobody can decode that awkward style, like I think Izzy is a much skilled fighter, he can box, he can kick, he can grapple, he even can do some jiujitsu, but he got beaten by Sean just moving always forward and hitting him with a 1-2. It amaze me

  • I give it to Jared, because he was going after his opponent, not only looking to counter on the an opponent's attack. I always give the risk taker the advantage in a close fight. I did not see Strickland taking the same risks as Jared. Therefore I give it to Jared. I hate careful cowards.

  • Are you kidding me? Strickland was in control that whole fight. I think he rocked the guy at least oh 5 times and what. And looked like at the end that he was going to take him down in the fifth. I have not watched all of Strickland's fights but like the Dricus fight this was. Dricus even knew at the end that people did not see him as winning that fight, as he asked the media if there were people like Dana who thought he lost. This is total bull crud. You won this one, too. Strickland. There are two losses that are wins.

  • Man, this is a weird fight to score, it was honestly razor close in all rounds past the first (of which Strickland clearly won) so I can see it being a split decision with some weird scores. Even as a Strickland fan I would probably go with a 49-46 Cannonier but man, Strickland made it razor close in every round and if he just pressed the pace a little bit more and threw some of those teep kicks to the mid-section he could’ve taken every round.

    • ur looking from a bias standpoint point. jared controlled the whole fight. u cant tell me he didnt win the first 3 rounds. i gave the 4th a draw at the most and he def lost the 5th round. he just didnt make it look bad which is why it looks like he won. its was just a great fight thats all

    • @@Dylan-xs7lo I disagree. i practiced MMA for 16 years at AMC in Kirkland, WA. I was fortunate enough to spend 3 months in Thailand working on my Muay Thai and subsequently fought (and lost) in Lumpini Stadium. I have had the honor of training and sparring with some very big names in the UFC (no I am not saying that I am a badass.) I am nowhere near that level. But I can say that over my years of training, I have learned that what most think is boring is actually not. I don't know if you have experience practicing MMA, but I would say that if you do then you might want to go back and study what Mr. Strickland is doing during the "boring" times in the fight
