4K CAB VIEW: City to Suburb to the Nordic Countryside
From City to Suburb to the Nordic Countryside via the diverted route out of Oslo. Starting off at the hotell and going to Lodalen Depot to get the locomotive. The loco is located at Track 3 in the workshop, just where I left it off after the video "Chasing Rainbows" ( • 4K CAB VIEW: Afternoon... ). There is something mysterious about this loco since it seems that there is some electronic disturbance that affects the sound quality. Anyways, going out from the Workshop and into the blind tunnel and connecting to the carriages. Push back down to Oslo S and from there we push through the City going east, through the suburb of the north-west of Oslo passing Maridalen lake and into the nordic countryside before joining back on the Bergen Line at Hønefoss.
Enjoy!

Now, after some years for watching your videos, I think, you have the best railroad channel of YT. Very good presentations, showing overview and maps, with high quality video and sounds. Thank for your good work!
WOW! Thank you! 🙏 ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Fantastic film
@@RailCowGirl in my opinion and if had your channel: I would offer bedder applicable merchandise articles then your cowgirl motives!! You living in a very nice natural country with lovely animals, woods, seas and landscape. I visit your country and saw your tracks. There are many bedder motives for your fans like your offers!! Additional the next interest motive are the railroad-motives. Hope, you think about for more interest merchandise artikels
This channel is above the rest. RCG pays a lot of attention to detail.
Being a cameraman for 40 years, I appreciate your purist approach, no music, clean audio, no effects, high quality, rock solid mount. Nice. I look forward to your next video.
Wow, thanks! ❤️❤️❤️
Agreed with cameraman. 😎No frills just the music of travel..💕
You brought me to places where I will never be able to go to, thanks
Thanks a lot for watching!
The best way to finish busy week - get the kids to the bad, open the bottle of 12 years old Bunnahabhain and watch the 3 hours train ride through the stunning Norway. Thank you so much!!!
This my favorite video yet of yours. Lots of green trees, sunshine, countryside. You hit it out of the park with this one. It was great to see all the before hand stuff too. Those of us who don't know much about behind the scenes, learn so much from that. So cool to see the culture and houses, cars, and streets of your communities. Thanks! :)
Next time I truly have to take you guys one adventures in Oslo :D
My husband and I have been watching for upwards of a year now and we just find it so enjoyable and relaxing. And while we have always wanted visit Norway your videos have inspired us that much more! Thank you for doing all the hard work to make this so fun to watch :)
Thank you! :D
Why is this channel so amazing? Why is this so relaxing for me when working?... Why is Norway so beautiful? I think our roots always come up wanting to live in such peaceful places. near nature with respect. Why am I not there?
There’s something extremely relaxing about these videos.
If only those pedestrians realised that a KZhead legend had just passed them by riding a scooter!
Lol, thanks ;-)
When you push back ; do you have a video feed of where you are going?
Nice to see alternate route. Counted tunnels again. Thanks from Vancouver.
Glad you enjoyed it
What a great ride! The greenish, different scenery, and the lack of tunnels made it great!
Glad you enjoyed it!
yay new video, love the scenery, hope all is well. Pure epicness, thank you for filming this for us.
Thank you so much!
Beautiful Country!! Thanks so much for taking us along!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video! Really outstanding story development with your personal opening scenes of going to work. I'm very impressed with the obvious care evidenced in the physical state of the loco. Railroads in the States devote all their attention to the mechanical state of their equipment, but not so much when it comes to the more "cosmetic" external appearances... it's all "bottom line" revenue concerns. Gotta get over to Norway some day and do some serious rail fan excursions.
To Railcowgirl, so glad about the scooter, I have to say that trip along was pretty exciting, I closed my eyes at one stage as you started to pass that gentleman walking with his back to you, i could see him walking over in your path, eyes open, back to your cab ride, outstanding, as simple as that, from getting the train ready, going backwards into Oslo, then the journey itself, brilliant. One of many highlights for me was when you pulled into Gol Station there was a family with suitcases and a little boy who waved to you or the train or both, you I just love children who wave to passing trains, it bring back many happy memories of doing just that. Again I have to thank you for a superb cab journey, Regards Geoff.
Your videos like a little travel in Norway 🇳🇴, thank you so much 😘
Glad you like them! ❤️❤️❤️
Amazing to see how trackwork and spurs around Oslo S always is a construction site... I went with a driver friend Larvik-Oslo S, an EL-13 with B5/3 stock. We uncoupled the stock (near where you picked up your B7’s), then parked the old machine in the now defunct “cave” roundhouse stable. Then we simply walked along the tracks all the way back to the station platforms. No HMS in 1997, so no scooter ride through Gamlebyen (not sure what’s most dangerous). A fantastic memory...
Yep, these days they're building the new Follo Line between Oslo and Ski. It will then be the longest railway tunnel in Norway. Two tubes with 200kmh think it will reduce the time between Oslo and Ski to 10 minutes or something :D The train today use about 22 minutes from Ski to Oslo. The track work you see is connecting the two tubes to the correct tracks at Oslo S.
You are very special with what you do here. Special thanks for showing us the operational aspects of what you do to get the train to the station for the passengers. Any day when I want some new air in my sails I come here to Norway to watch a rail video. Wish we could get you to document/record the Trondheim to Bodo run up the West Coast. Please go over there and show them how.
Another excellent video Miss RCG! The view at 4:01 coming out of the maintenance bay felt like the beginning of a roller coaster ride.
It really does! same feeling I have when I'm walking there :D
My first journey completed. Thnx Railcowgirl. It was am experience to remember. Helped me sleep at nights. Calmed me down those sceneries.
Glad you liked it! Welcome on board!
@@RailCowGirl Yo.. ✌️
Theres something strange about the cab view of trains, its so surreal yet the relaxation is constant.
Indeed it is :D
I must say your videos have been great in helping me build my model railway. It has lots of rock faces and rock cuttings and I have stopped several of your videos at a number of places on the journey and taken screenshots, which I have used to replicate a particular type of rock face, including those which have been cut with machines, those which have been created by explosives and those which are natural. Most useful!
It is nice to see your coworker friends give you a greeting and wave as you arrive... I sometimes wish we might see/enjoy their facial expressions of that greeting as well. I hope all your extensive efforts are appreciated by other crews on up to management.
thanks for the journey.i loved it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderful place
The snow scenes in the previous video were impressive but this is so beautiful that it takes one's breath away; I like the titles and short comments on events, also the division into segments. Excellent!
Thank you so much!
Hi RCG! One more fantastic video! :) I have a suggestion for one future video: you could visit control room in traffic control in Oslo and show us how they manage to control such of busy railway. I'm sure you can arrange it. On that way your channel is not just entertaining, but also educational (it is educational already as we can learn about signals and some of traffic rules). One of well known youtubers in aviation (Stefan Drury) visited air traffic control tower and it looks awesome!
Thanks, but I am sure they will not allow me filming it, because of safety reasons. Thanks a lot for watching!
we enjoyed this journey, thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it

Hi railcowgail great cab ride is there over night sleeper trains in Norway. Here in uk we have only 3 sleeper trains now here two of London euston to Scotland and one from London pandington to Cornwall stay safe and well clive
Yeah, I remember there was a time when all countries worked together to have sleepers going across Europe. But after privatization and "boosted efficiency" all that took a nose dive in the mid 80's
Long video but every moment is an experience. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
ALWAYS a pleasure to watch your videos RCG. I retire in three years time. After which, it is my wish to backpack some of the European countries I have yet to visit. You have inspired me to visit Norway many times over. Hopefully, you will be driving the train that takes me to Bergen when that time comes. Tusen Takk.
Thank you so much! Hope you enjoy your retirement and that you get to travel through Europe. I'm sure you have seen my switch over to freight trains, so unfortunately I won't be the one driving your train. But hope you have a safe travel anyway ;)
Oh yay!!!! Another new vid. I’ll watch now. Exciting. 😍

I really enjoyed this video. Thank you.

An incredible amount of Train Drivers around the world are recording their routes now, and posting them on KZhead. And I'm certain that there were probably a few before you. But I Wholeheartedly Know that You are The Pioneer in this whole thing. When I'm 🙏 and thanking my Father for everything that he blesses me with on a daily basis, I always include 2 things. All these crossings you have to sound the horn for - and I've never yet seen anyone using one!
I crossed one of those this summer, some family members have a cabin nearby so there’s lots of horn sounds going off through the day ^^
You are the best!!! Many Thanks!! When will we ever see you face, I have been guessing what you look like for years! LOL
Hahaha! Might happen soon? :D ;)
Thank you for the beautiful ride. I was wondering if you ever thought about doing a voice intro and exit overlay on your videos. You have the most soothing and pleasant voice I have ever heard. I guess you can tell I am a big fan. Thanks for sharing your life.

I love that weather
Me too :D
I watch your wonderful channel every day doing at-home physical therapy for my hand, it makes the time go so smoothly! What is the vibration in sections of the track here, almost like the train is running on the ties, not the rails? How come there are so many barns and pasture but so few animals (does no one raise livestock in Norway?) Your country is unbelievably beautiful, thanks so much for showing it!
Starting in front of a mirror, without doing a face reveal, is just toying with us! Good job!
Hahaha, lol! ;)
Smooth travels

Agreed and I feel like I am into driver's seat it is so awesome feeling! Thank you rial cowgirl God bless you
Good morning RCG, enjoy watching you get your train set up. Never realized how complicated it was. Amazing how many trains are parked in the station. It must take a lot of engineers to put them all to work. I see that one engine has a very small window high up. How will that affect your view and camera installation? Enjoy your day, cheers, PFC
Hi RailCowGirl. Just finished watching another amazing video! :) It's 00:36 in the morning here in Ontario , Canada... Time to catch some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's Thanks for sharing these video's with us... Take care and be safe out there... :):):)

@@RailCowGirl Nah, I thank you for making these :P
14:19 I thought it was a quick shunter on that loco that would hit railcars as fast as safely possible to shunt faster. But it was on the other tracks :D
Lol, I had the same impression!
Jeg likte denne videoen min venn, hilsener fra Brasil.
This sounds bit weird, didu meant: I liked this video, from Brazil. (We don´t say friend here in Norway lol!) Good try tho!

Thanks a lot! :D And don't listen to the guy who says we don't say friend. Some of us do ;)
@@RailCowGirl lol, thank you
@@RailCowGirl Hæ? gjør vi
wow the noise dampening in the driver's cab must be incredible...as soon as you opened the door to the engine room, the audio got significantly louder
Indeed :D It's pressured rubber seal in the door that inflates when we lock it :D It's working really well :D
Just an amazing video ! I think I need to get a scooter ;-)
Go for it! ;) Thanks for watching!
After watching this I would like to know how it works. You must get an email telling you your train is ready so you can pull it out of the shop. Do you to communicate with someone so they know when you are leaving and at the right time all the right switches get thrown so you can end up in the right place connected and then going to your destination? Seems like there is some two way communication that has to happen. Also it seems strange with all those trains in the shop and yard you dont see anyone else. Where are all the crews?
Very good my Friends
Thank you very much
This video is my favorite so far.
Thank you!
I really enjoy watching your video's. Beautiful scenery. When you reversed into station. Why didn't you have an engine, each end. Or an emu. Then you wouldn't have to reverse. It's nice to be on single track and no be distracted by a train coming the other way. Looking forward to the next one
Because we use loco and carriages for flexibility :) it does not go any faster with an EMU or two engines :)
COOL !!!
Thank you!
LOVE❤️LOVE❤️LOVE 🚞
Thank you!
Todos los paisajes son muy bonitos, algun dia me gustaria visitar el pais para tener la experiencia de viajar sobre este tren.
OK, so does your job as driver include making all of the connections (brake lines, etc.) between the locomotive and the passenger cars or are there yard personnel that attend to that for you? Great video and the start displayed the reality of your job, gotta get there. Inside of the engine house was special treat, thanks.
Woow...it's cool.....the video like the Movie.....Do you use a color grading for this video ?
Yes I do! Thanks for watching!
My (sadly then) wife and I went to Norway on our honeymoon (she had family up in Skogn and Steinkjer and Levanger. And, of course, we took the Bergensbanen from Bergen to Oslo and the one from Oslo to Trondheim. That was absolutely the most amazing train ride I had ever been on bar none. It has always been a wish to return someday and ride all of the rails of Norge - with a very high-quality, professional digital cinema camera and an excellent set of cinema lenses to go with it. If, on the low probability that I actually manage to arrange such a trip, what are the possibilities of actually being able to shoot from inside the cab?
Wow
Thank you so much for watching!

I would like to see a comparison with the United States Amtrak and your train system. We have been dropping the ball when it comes to our infrastructure here in the US, and could use the awakening.
Maybe I should go over and do a review? :D Hehehehhehe
What about the Californian HSR? That's not dropping the ball, but raising it.
The primary problem with Amtrak the politicians and the freight railroads that Amtrak travels on. If you want a very good outline of Amtrak problems, go to Paul Lucas You Tube channel and look up his Acela ride.
@@RailCowGirl That is a great idea. All countries should work together to improve what we have.
