I feel like a lot of people here are kind of missing the point of HM2 -- and more specifically the Writer's story. HM2 wasn't just a great sequel to an amazing game, it was a commentary on how people twist horrific events to fit their own narrative and miss the real reasons behind them. Everyone in the sequel story of HM2 is twisting or reacting to the events of HM1 in some way: The Pig Butcher sees the glorification of the killings in the form of a movie as an outlet for his darkest impulses, misunderstanding that Jacket's motivation was not destruction but to avenge his dead friend and the Girlfriend; the Fans all want to continue massacring Russians like Jacket did, but they're just hollow imitators without motivation or direction; Pardo, a cop, only knows that Jacket is famous and decides to imitate him by recreating what he saw investigating the scenes of HM1: bloody. grotesque murder, but ultimately his attempts get more and more desparate in an attempt to compete with Jacket's publicity; The Henchman knows his time is up and wants out, tired of the bloodshed and afraid of dying to someone like Jacket, but he, like the Fans, has no direction or objective other than to get away from the mafia, which ultimately just leads him back to it; Lastly, Evan Wright, the Writer, is one of the only characters in the game who sees a glimpse of what's behind Jacket's mass murder spree, and tries to understand it. Evan even met Jacket in Hawaii, suggesting that perhaps figuring out why Jacket would do this has not just a financial motivation but also a personal one. Evan cares so much about solving the mystery of 50 Blessings, cares so much about writing this book, that he would fight through a subway station full of gangsters hell-bent on killing anyone nearby. All the while, he is struggling to keep his family life and finances together, and with the weight of the world packed onto Evan's shoulders, it's not very hard for him to give into his violent impulses. Evan truly wanted to know *why*, maybe because in Jacket he recognized how they both were men who had been teetering over the edge for a long time.

In Hotline Miami 1 everyone was accurate for your head just even one shot in your head may be mortal for you.
@nukeam Жыл бұрын
@@nukeam The Son's shot did nothing, as it hit Tony's torso, which was covered by the kevlar vest he wears. If it did, he would've died either instantly from a bullet hitting the head or bled out like Corey did (as she was shot below the shoulders as well). But he was still standing and talking with Pardo as if nothing had hit him up until Pardo shot him. That singular gunshot literally changed the entire atmosphere of the game along with Subway (this song being part of it). It completely changed my perspective of the game and gave the feeling that anyone could realistically die if the game developers wanted them to. And as we saw with Jake and Beard, that very much rung true. My point is that up until that point, Hotline Miami 2 was shaping itself to look like a success story for the Fans. In killing the Fans, the game also kills off the idea that it's gonna be a happy story for everyone. A lot more than just Tony died when Pardo shot him.

@@user-xx5xg1kp7h no. i murdered every single person. punched the guy with the bat, beat him to death, stole his bat, killed the person with the AK and stole that after i murdered the person with the knife, and then killed the rest of them.
This is actually the best explanation I've heard about the game in a while

iamthekidyouknowwhatimean is the artists name, this song is from the game "Hotline Miami 2" which has been out for years

It is simply amazing how a singular gunshot and this song changed the entire tone of the game. Hotline Miami truly is a timeless masterpiece
Bro is playing Evan not right💀
@@nukeam I'm talking about Tony's death with "a singular gunshot". I literally fucking S-ranked Subway and Abyss already
@@anotherchanneliguess2335 He has been shot in the head. And also if not, just remember that Son shot him in his vest and some of them penetrated it. So he died from 2 shots as HM2 health is. In Hotline Miami 1 everyone was accurate for your head just even one shot in your head may be mortal for you.
@@anotherchanneliguess2335 They penetrated his vest and also Pardo literally blew up his head as you said. I had both theories in my mind and both were true.

Samuc 06 That's true, but he was just doing his job. He even expresses how he hates having to kill people. You don't really have much of a choice when you're in war.

The entire Hotline Miami soundtrack can be divided in two big parts: Songs that are slow, sad, and are perfect when you're driving alone in your car Songs that fuel your inner violence so much that the Gods thank you for not snapping out after hearing them
Haven't played the game, but after listening to the soundtrack this was by far my favorite track. Unique and catchy. I was surprised to see that some people had previously mentioned this was the worst of the soundtrack.
Whoever mentioned this as the worst must've been smoking crack, because there were far worse tracks (none of them actually bad imo) than this. Frankly, if you ask me, this is probably the best song in the game. It's played at the perfect time right after the Fans were all killed off, and it helps establish the paranoia and anxiety that follows with the Chapter along with the message that no one is really safe from getting the axe, no matter how evil or good they are.
