Richter is one of the few Hotline Miami protagonists that I would call decent. Obviously, Evan is more of a good guy, but among the murder hobos, Richter at least has good, non-murder motivations, and he genuinely cares about his mom.

Tbh I think he's the only character who gets a somewhat happy ending? He's not afraid of what's coming. In fact, he accepts his fate since there's nothing he or anyone can do about it. Last moments spent with his mother after everything he's been through.

@oldthug23094 жыл бұрын
Those feelings after the drop counterbalance the feelings of apprehension and rising tension of 2:23 - 2:55. If this song were in a movie, it would be at the part where the heroes are preparing for an attack, and then are completely overwhelmed by the enemy. The entire album tells a story like you would see in an '80s action-horror flick, with each of the EPs being it's own story arc (thus the name Trilogy). Given this song's placement in the album at the end of EP1 and right before Roller Mobster (where the good guys begin to fight back), I think this description is accurate.

I don't know if I'm the only one who feels a catharsis in this song, especially at the end. It's like a release of raw emotion. And maybe that's why Dennaton used this song for the last Richter chapter. In the whole Act 5, Richter has been pushed to kill, has been walking on the razor edge, and survived. All for his love to his mother. And then, the Janitors told him he has outlived his usefulness, and he has to die. Trapped like a rat. He's alone now. He has lost everything, but now he has nothing to lose. Pushed to the limit, he has to do one final fight. He has to release himself, not only phyiscally, but also mentally. All the anger, all the frustration, all the hatred, all the despair. He's finally free.

No one talks about 1:21? You've got this chaotic wall of sound pounding your ears, then suddenly it just stops with a single sawtooth wave that can barely keep its composure. It's subtle, it doesn't smack you in the face, but it makes its presence known through its echoes. You think you can take a breather, but you're slapped in the face again and that haunting sawtooth comes back, even angrier. The risers kick back in. There's a warbling noise in the background that seethes rage. If you listen close enough, a harrowing choir sends a shiver down your spine. Next thing you know the track's lashing back at you at full force

Also a curse to my fingers and hands.
@@Fettucci l mean depending on how you played Evan doesn't he end up back with his family at the end?
@@kingman450 Yeah but that's really up to the player's choice. It's unclear which choice is canon for Evan. For Richter though, he canonically ends up in Hawaii with his mother until the end.
@@Fettucci Sure fair enough.

After listening to this track like, hundreds of time, I'm feeling some kind of sadness and melancholia in the heavy drop at 2:56, and, of course, violence. Le Perv is so fucking perfect.
youre right. feels very cathartic. thus emotional. i think the chord progressions are very interesting in this song
Given this song's placement in the album at the end of EP1 and right before Roller Mobster (where the good guys begin to fight back), I think this description is accurate.
i know this is an old comment, but here are my thoughts. It starts out frantic, tense angry. Then it gets a bit more hopeful, then goes all out lets fucking goooooo mode.
The fall of this music, we could say that it is to 3:39 amazing.
In every way...
Deep
Smuc Muck Especially a human
This. I fucking love shit like this. Music conveys the story in games and movies so well, and in Hotline Miami's case it's no different. You described this shit perfectly.
Buckets The Hotline Miami games have probably some of the best uses of music in gaming history. Up there with games like Shadow of the Colossus, which also had great and perfectly timed music.
It was pretty much the "burn it all down" moment of his story. Which is a great contrast to how he actually dies.

I've said it over multiple comments on multiple videos but I will continue to say that Hotline Miami would be absolutely magnificent to see as a film.
@@saturniidspectrehotline miami already is a film

shoutout to the guy at the concert who was crowdsurfing while dressed up as jacket, that was amazing lol
I love how the drop, whilst being kick ass and action packed, has a bittersweet or almost somewhat sad feeling. I love every bit of it, going beyond just being a fucking epic song. 20/10, would loop again.
Absolute top tier. Pleease do music for Cyberpunk 2077
At least we know for (almost) sure we got Perturbator.
@TAGGLE63 Perturbator themself posted something (can't remember exactly where but if you look it up there should be results) that HIGHLY hinted at his inclusion in doing soundtrack work for Cyberpunk 2077. There hasn't been any official comment on it, but it's pretty much confirmed from Perturbator's words.
I HAD A STROKE FUCKING CLICKING THE LIKE BUTTON 2143125 TIMES. HE HAS TO BE FUCKING THERE OMG
Amazing track for an amazing level, Richter the best.
Jacket is the best.
TOTALLY RAD!! with josie! Jacket and Richter are amateurs. The miami mutilator on the other hand....
Jacket #1 alex and ash #2 forget the rest

The wrong man in the right place can make all the difference dr freman
Like, I can't even listen to this without using my proper headset or a surround sound system. It feels like a massive injustice otherwise.
Elijah Ewing massive injustice..."in-justice"...i see what you did there.
Fandom Reviewer why are you here
James Vee Obviously because of the dark room ending to the fucking of isaac.
r/outrun brought me here
ah i see youve moved to 4chan
i love how carpnter bruts songs are a constant rise in energy way past what should even be possible
Went pvp mode washing the dishes with this banger
74 people couldn't escape getting headbutted to death in the prison yard.
is that a reference to HLM2?
yep
sounds like carpenter Bruts' next song
It's up to 332 now. This is getting out of hand.
Guess those people didn't say their prayers. Assholes.
“Are you going to kill me?” “Yes” “Ok” *pulls out lightsaber*
Make me wish for a custom HL2 Star Wars custom campain
i know the game is easier when you go stealthy *BUT HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO STEALTH TO THIS BANGER?*
You can't get a S score by hesitating after all

+CreaturePlaysGames but it worth to bleed. cuz i will not regret if tjis track with full bass was a last sound that i can hear in my life. I WILL REGRET NOTHING. I CAN BE A DEAF PERSON WITH THIS TRACK. I WANNA BE A DEAF WITH THIS TRACK.
I beat HM2 on hard mode and this song gives me PTSD now.
I get more PTSD from Bloodline.
lol. dead ahead on hard wasnt that diff to be honest
I hate the fucking loop in Dead Ahead.
I can't even get past dead ahead on hard I can A+ it on normal difficulty but hard just takes the piss man I get stuck on the third floor and it's so hard ahhhhhhhh
This level on hard mode was the only time I completely lost it throughout the hm series. This music and the intensity made me throw all strategy out the window and just go insane
This level is one of the reasons why i love ritcher
3:43that chord is fire
This is very Justice-y, sounds a lot like Stress And I freaking love it.
just more aggressive

@@rouge-ish324 Those are words i can hear
Who’s *LE PERV* and why did you insult him??
I get why everyone loves 2:56 it's great but the part at 0:50 gets me so pumped it's such a good buildup
2:24 My man over here said "fuck it" and decided to drop the best synth solo in history
One of the best synthwave tracks I ever listened, this break at 3:43 Is what make this song 10/10
It gives me a mental image of stopping with firing for a second to switch weapons before starting again
Carpenter Brut made the most brutal level in the game a great experience, without this, i would have most likely went insane from the stupid cannibal enemies, thanks a bunch man.
Soon.
My favorite so far. Emotional, brutal, perfect.
Best electronic music ever heard in my entire life. 0:00 - 4:18 is Best.

I feel like the fact that this is perfectly timed with 120 bpm (two times faster than seconds) somehow makes it all the more awesome.
huh thats like most common tempo
it sounds identical to 60bpm without the written down music in front of you

everybody talks about some parts of this song, but why don't we appreciate All of it?
heard this on a tiktok audio and was like "wait a second isnt that..." its so joever
4 days ago I was listening to this in my Alfa at night and about a minute in I saw blue lights behind me. The temptation was dangerous...
This is good music to listen to when you scroll down too much.
I listened to this song on a nonstop loop for 40 minutes while raging at prisoners killing me on HM2, and somehow I still listen and love this song, it is THAT good.
0:00-4:18 best part

I love the bit at 2:04 when that driving beat comes back into it and the song really revs up.
3:28 Do... 3:31 you... 3:35 enjoy... 3:40 hurting... 3:44 other... 4:00 people...?

Probably the best start of a carpenter brut song to be honest, sounds so badass at the start, up until the end.
the climax buildup from 3:28 into the drop at 3:43 is so godly
