One of the toughest things to do as a hooper of ANY level and ANY position is to handle pressure and aggressive defenders. But learning to do it and to control YOUR speed will change your game forever, and open up countless opportunities. Here's a look into how.

Fantastic stuff, this is exactly how individual workouts with a trainer should be! Trainer playing defense and letting the player explore. Then giving points between reps. Simple cues, asking questions, and making stuff harder (handling pressure without being able to blow by). And of course every now and then flipping defense to offense and cook up a bit 😂.
Haha facts! Appreciate you!!
That’s why you the goat the goat
COACH FRIKKI I love your content bro
hey coach waiting for your next upload
Love your content coach, good to see ya over here
This is elite content. I don't know how many people will realize how valuable this is.
Much love! 🤝
Seriously
Who's here after being guarded by a trash talking defender
This was EXACTLY the video that I needed thank you so much. I just had a bad game where I had a lot of turnovers and performed bad under pressure, coincidentally you posted this and it's helped me a ton thanks.
i just did the exact same thing
Good vid........To all my young players, vs full court pressure: 1- change speed more than change direction, 2- Avoid slow spin (to prevent wrap around steal andr traps) 3. If you do change direction, use back dribble crossover or behind back dribble (always see what's in front) 4. Once you get a step, cut your defender off while dribbling to create a 5 on 4. One of the best moves vs full ct. pressure is a between the leg hesitation. When the defender sits after your hesitation, anticipating a change of direction, you then explode.
Great tips! Trying to help my 5th grade daughter get the hang of bringing the ball up and this will help!
I’m new to your content but you have covered many aspects of my game that needs improvement (pacing, use of off-arm, composure, etc) and these are great study sessions. Just want to say I appreciate it ✊🏾💪🏾
Wow great video, super detailed! This is also part of makes Luka so good. He always seems unaffected by the defense. Even when he's getting blitzed or pressured. Just staying calm and reading the game.
Looking forward to more of these pressure-handling videos, not many coaches talk about it, this is the real deal. Thank you sir
Thank you so much coach! You really helped me today, it's crazy. I play the point guard position and sometimes I can have this kind of difficulties against an aggressive defense. Too much dribbling makes me lose the ball while this technique that you ask to apply solves all my problems and questions. I will be sure to apply it and master it thank you very much!
I like the fact that this is not edited at all. You can see the mistake from him vs you as the trainer and helping him be more comfortable. Definitely adding this to my workout routine.
My biggest takeaway that helped me is the ball float. Because what happens a lot of people and younger players is aggressive defenders will make you tense up and feel you have to pound the ball or dribble faster but it’s the opposite you want the ball to float more so anyone out there getting ripped a lot and feel you have a good handle but don’t have the confidence this is the video for you.
dropped a gem at the perfect time, i rlly needed dis 🙏🏾
this video is gold for basketball players, so grateful i have find this channel ❤️
YES COACH, this some quality content, these videos shouldn't be free but i'm so glad they are. Thank you coach
This is actually one of my most problem on basketball thanks so much i should master on how to fully control my energy and ball handling
this helped me so much i was never a bad ball handler but i understand now and how to take control of being under pressure. Im on my journey to becoming good at basketball as well as i am in football
omg this video just perfect I love content like this, appreciate your work man🤝
You're a legend my man keep doing what you are doing!!!
Perfect cues and coaching, wow. Allowed him to work through it and he picked it up quickly
This is what i needed, thank you man🙏🔥
Uou, this video is gold. Praticing this in every training session made me a lot more confortable handling defenders.
thanks for the tips. great content. cannot wait to use this in tomorrows practice!
I've learned so much from this! Thanks! I've recently transitioned from a pure shooter/shot creator/scorer to a more ball handler/facilitator in my local ball club just because I wanted to expand my game. My friends agreed on my transition. Now I'm definitely gonna apply this and your other content as well.
THIS IS GOLD THANK YOU COACH
He improved so much in 5 minutes 😳 thank you for this content
This is gonna help me so much! Thank you for these videos!
Needed this. Just started back playing again after barely playing since the pandemic and I’m 30 lbs heavier than I was in my playing days so I’m not blowing past defenders like I used too. This will definitely come in handy!
Sameeee bro
Good time to upload I'm getting locked up Rn
Get to work on it now 😈
This is the example of a great coach🔥💯
This was an amazing video u helped him turn his game up just a notch that boy nice 👏
This is probably the most important skill as a primary initiator imo. You can have the fanciest moves but if you can be forced into an uncomfortable frantic rythym you're still easy to gameplan against.
He is literally getting better in each step, what coach
thanks for the great vid ive been struggleing with pressure this coming bball season
Great stuff coach ❤
this is awesome. thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the lessons, this would help me very much.

bro i had a problem i dont know how to communicate but THIS exactly solves it thank you man
Good important vid as always.
This video is suuuper valuable. Coleman and Nolan Weathers… love their instructionals
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Outside looking in, I see that this trainer has the best intentions for his clients and is able to really communicate the golden nuggets that are valuable in the game of basketball. Not all trainers are capable of doing that.
denver nuggets champion foreshadow😮
Thanks! Going to work on this with my daughter!
Super useful content. This is exactly what you need to take your game to next level. There are alot of tutorials out there but your videos are the ones' I go "Ah, I see that's why..."
That means a lot. I’m glad they can do that for you 💪🏻
Great stuff. I'd say Christ Paul has this mastered. At this stage, he's slower than everyone, but uses all these techniques to handle pressure.
Thank you for those tips.
Awesome I need this! Thanks
You’re awesome mate!
This helped out a lot.

Great video, new suscriber 👍🏼🏀❤️
Thanks for a great video. This is some of the best stuff on youtube. BTW what is the profile of the player you are with in the video? age and level? thanks
Loved that
Good work coach
I just playing intramural basketball for our squadron and this would've been perfect. We had turnovers from full court pressure not looking up the court and not having control
This is the best coach. He has fun with his clients and is a nice coach and knows a lot about the game…
I appreciate that 🙏🏻
@@ByAnyMeansBasketball No problem
Looks helpfufl, thanks!
Amazing.
Thanks man
Great trainer
Thank you sir
THANK YOUUU
Great video
Great video. Coughed up 4 turnovers tonight, and while I played well in other areas, bringing the ball up wasn’t one of em’. Ehh. Another day!
Good to know, i have always sped up when there is pressure defense.
that was a gym. on a team now with only one true guard and having to bring the ball up and handle makes it tough. I'm a forward and against pros my handles just isn't enough. will try to work on this in the gym solo somehow
Awesome!
Another thing i noticed is in the paint drill you didn't really use a normal crossover. You stuck with between and behind im assuming for added ball protection.
you could still use a normal crossover as long as you gonna place the ball at your pocket side again to protect it from the opponent.
@@kksprstn6186 oh I know. I was just answering the question. Because in that drill he never used it.
@@lejoneason1208 tweens and tight behind the backs while floating work the best. If you're doing a regular cross tip your chest forward, almost feeling as though the ball is bouncing below your knees if that makes any sense. Basically the ball is bouncing as close to your body as possible, while also adding protection with your upper body. Then like he shows pull the ball back into what he called the pocket.
Thanks a lot
just played like 4 scrimmages in the past 2 days where I committed too many turnovers and got frustrated under pressure, I'm looking forward to how this will translate today
Good stuff
Great tips!
Glad it was helpful!
Imma bout to do this at my pick up ASAP
Thanks
