Lyrics:
Another head hangs lowly
Child is slowly taken
And the violence causes silence
Who are we mistaken?
But you see, it's not me
It's not my family
In your head, in your head, they are fighting
With their tanks, and their bombs
And their bombs, and their drones
In your head, in your head, they are crying
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh
Another mother's breakin'
Heart is takin' over
When the violence causes silence
We must be mistaken
It's the same old theme
In two thousand eighteen
In your head, in your head, they're still fightin'
With their tanks, and their bombs
And their guns, and their drones
In your head, in your head, they are dyin'
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh
It's the same old theme
In two thousand eight-teen
In your head, in your head, they're dyin'
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie,
Oh oh oh oh
Ie-ie, oh

Yep..love it
As an avid lover of the original this song is just as powerful to me. It’s like Bad Wolves’ version of this song is talking TO Delores, letting her know that the world is still the same today as it was when she sung this song for the first time, and that they’re angry about it on her behalf. Every single note and vocal of this song was made with passion, love, and a resounding respect for Delores and her career. Listening to both versions of this song and the message they share is truly something special and I recommend everyone at LEAST give it a listen.
As someone born in NI to army parents who are Scottish and Irish I agree
Sad she died the morning she was to contribute to the song
Her spirit is in every note ❤

They found out she was dead and recorded mere hours later and said, "we are gonna keep our composure and rock this fucking track." And they delivered and gave all the money to her family. This alone makes them legendary. You can hear the pain in his voice

The fact that they changed the song for the year adds more emotion to the song, using the original people covered in gold was perfect as well. Rip Delores
I dunno, it gives me a Black Eyed Peas' Boom Boom Pow "We're so 2008, you're so 2000 and late" vibes. Like it's instantly dated and jarring to hear. The BEP in their case now perform the line as "We're so 3008" to much hilarity... idk how these guys will salvage the line in their own shows
Amen brother.
@@_ekyaJ It robs the song of its original context. The original line "since 1916" refers to the Easter Rising/Rebellion of 1916, from which footage is shown in the Cranberries' music video, and how the violence in Ireland has continued up until the writing of the song in 1993 in response to the Warrington bombings. The original wasn't written in 1916 -- it had a specific reason to call back to that date and say "it's been the same ever since." So changing the lyrics to say "in 2018" subverts the purpose of the line as soon as the year changes. Exact same problem the BEP ran into with their lyric choice.
@UCEuU39jJ7yoLXsyS0dNfMFA I guess.

I've seen this song touch people the world over. The world now knows a bit of Ireland's pain, but also Ireland now knows that the whole world (sadly) can relate. The alienation and brutality of division and war and the 'collateral' of our children, meaning our innocent selves and future selves as well as our actual children, is the legacy that we as a species must somehow move beyond. Meanwhile, we'll pay tribute with Dolores to each and every memory, as that is exactly what it means to be a human being.
Crazy moving you put her as a reference in this video. RIP Dolores. Total chills.
Herausragende Leistung... Unglaubliche Stimme... 1000 Besser als das Orginal...
In my opinion, one of the best re-makes EVER. Soo good.
Totally agree
Check out Disturbed sound of silence or their land of confusion
Yea, it's true
HANDS DOWN!! sound of silence follows in 2nd.
Agree with all yall. Another cover to add to this list is sad but true done by the hu
When you watch the original and then this cover with tears in your eyes, you know they did a fantastic job and it is a beautiful tribute to the original artists and their message...
Lets hope putin listens to it.
I couldn't agree with you more and this song is still as relevant today as it was when it first released.
I just learned of this cover and it's just as effective a the original. Watching the music videos of the original and then this cover feels like having your gut punched and then your heart ripped out. "I'm moved." doesn't even begin to cover it. I'm in shambles.
Him trying to reach her "representation" trough the glass, she leaving her mark and then covering the whole glass with only the date she left this world is just...
She is probably looking down from heaven and smiling at this masterpiece.
These guys blew this song out of the water. Wat a masterpiece.
Dolores couldn't be there in person, but she was there in spirit.
I'm sure she is smiling looking down from Heaven
@@bishopleo1654 HOORAH. May her soul carries on, on earth as she is in heaven. we waved a legend to heaven to let her rest in peace. god will protect her now.....
So GOOD 🎶
No doubt at all
yes she is we will never forget her
When I was a child, I loved the song Zombie just cause of how it sounded. But as I got older and began to understand it more and more, it's impact hit harder and harder seeing the bullshit happening... The songs relevance came much more clearer when the second war in Iraq happened in 2003 and later it came out that there were no WMDs.. And now hearing this with the line "It's the same old theme, In two thousand eighteen In your head, in your head, they're still fightin' With their tanks, and their bombs And their guns, and their drones" It's weight has become even more heavier then ever.. Dolores would be very proud of this cover... RIP Dolores..
We're all zombies we don't think/feel who just do things without no retrospection. We prefer being working class hero like Lennon would say
Bad Wolves and Five Finger Death Punch were both in my home town. I had just had hip surgery and I could not go... that was number 4 that I had missed.
the first time i heard this i thought the lyrics where cool as well and sang along with it and now that im older and can hear the lyrics far better than i did before and understand them far better than before but that doesnt stop me from singing along with the song for the artist and the signer and Dolores are all amazing and deserve all that they have achieved
❤
Shushy Shushy who told you there were no WMDs? We sold them to Iraq.
This cover will go down in history as a classic , such a great cover song
Love this song it has aged like fine wine
For those who didn't know, this song was written as a protest song to the 1993 IRA bombing in Warrington, England. I think this song is a message to all people about human violent tendencies. We all say we want peace, that we are peaceful, and yet since then to now, peace isn't reflected in our world.
you're damn right bro.. when will we can live in a house with all races or religion without any bad perception.. hope the day will come
Mark Youneva I hope Everyone understands your Message. Peace ☮️ and Love 💗.
@@ahmadfakiruldin5358 :-/ impossible but all good. We can try to at least be better
I've learned the hard way that people are just mean and they like to hurt you and feel no remorse, while you go through out life being taken down bit by bit from other despicable people until they've crushed your soul and created a tsunami of madness inside your head. Everyone else thinks you're crazy, which is uncomprehendable because I'm the one who was abused. So now after twenty years of being broken by these assholes, now I have to try to understand and heal from PTSD. I don't think I ever can because you get through some shit and ten more come. Our world we live in is a very cruel and hurtful place 😖
Tendencies... Is it tendencies??? Idk lol
For anyone who was wondering, the original song was written in response to the Warrington bombings in England in 1993, carried out by The IRA. Two young boys were killed, one was 12 and the other was 3. The 3 year old, Johnathan, was shopping for a card for Mother's Day. The song is about Irish people telling the IRA that enough is enough and asking them "what's in your head?" and telling them that the only war they are fighting is "in your head".
A 3 year old was shopping? My niece is 3 and has no concept of money.
Thanks for this info
Thanks for the info bro
Serenity113 the 3 year old was with his brother in the store when the attack happened and they were both killed by shrapnel from a nail bomb
@@yodady4 oh ok so they BOTH were shopping and they were brothers. That makes more sense. I just thought it was strange that a 3 year old was shopping by himself.
Me and my dad used to karaoke to the original version when I was little it is my absolute favorite and this one is right there with it. I now sing with my girls both versions❤❤
How this hasn't reached a billion yet is downright criminal....Much love boys 🙂
Love how they portrayed Dolores hand painting through the sheet of glass, as if to symbolize she has moved onto the other side yet her art and spirit still lives on.
Another you that’s beautiful
Beautifully said
That’s amazing
This isn't a song, this is an emotion. An emotion that makes you feel sad, yet happy. An emotion that makes you remember really anything good that happened in your life. This is an emotion that makes you feel like a person with the build of a god. This song is an emotion.
I know too many people that don't like music. My brother can never feel this emotion and it's kinda sad.
@@MagentaFaux Yea, my brother doesn't like music too.
The emotion you feel from this song, is the subject matter itself. War and oppression, imposed by the british armed forces, who invaded and to this day, occupy the Island of Ireland.
@@MagentaFaux Unfortunately there is usually a reason to not like music for instance it causes unwanted emotions at least that happens to me it also can bring unwanted memories
@@animemanno.4391 Yeah, his reason is mom repetitively played alot of 70s-90s music that he really didn't like growing up.
Many of us still mourning the loss of Delores ...
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 the original was my childhood sound and now this masterpiece has become one of my favorite sounds although I still listen to the Cramberries original
This makes me cry so badly, it's like this song is personal. They did this song so much justice and I'm sure she is watching from heaven singing along and rocking out in heaven.

I'm not even Irish and this hit me like a fucking freight train.
@@curtisburgess9839 before my by i Simonun youjj um man hmm unnnym
An absolutely disgusting version of this song! Takes away all the meaning of it when you replace key lyrics, this was about problems between northern Ireland and Southern Ireland and violence that erupted over the course of 50+ years, replacing 1916 with 2018 & bombs with drones is frankly ridiculous! This version should be condemned with its horrible sound and tactless meaning!
@@mac8669 I know all too well of that war. And yes the original version will always be #1 but that song no matter how it is sang, it tell the horror of that war and if you think about it, the war that is happening even now. Alot of people are too blind and too close minded to see that this song was a way of screaming out about the senseless killings of our young and our people. So it is your opinion that this version is disgusting but to me who is mixed with Irish and more and from america. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and everyone is entitled to disagree with your opinion, but we all should learn to agree to disagree.
This song screams not just emotion, but talent. Every time it comes on, I stop and admire it. Well done, so fucking well done. Thank you.
Honestly could not of put it better. Whatever I'm doing will stop for this song. Beatiful song.
...
I agree with you 100% It is done extremely well and the voice goes with it perfectly!
When my time has come I pray to God to go peacefully
This is such a masterpiece. I really do love this song!!! Thank you Bad Wolves for making this song!
This is a tribute not a cover, it has the spirit of Dolores in every note and verse, I have no idea how many times have had this on repeat but it resonates like the original. RIP Dolores, you will live on in our memories and hearts the true Queen of Rock.
i cant stop listening to it
FUCK IRA! Free Ireland BUT FUCK IRA
Thanks for making me cry fucker lol
They did a awesome job with it😍😍
It was supposed to be with the cranberries but sadly she dies unexpectedly that day. They did this and made it more of a tribute/ cover it is both.
Usually I find it hard to ”accept” changes for songs I have deep feelings for the original. Covers or new versions from the artists themselves, doesn’t matter. But this is just mesmerising! This caught my ear the very first moment I heard it in radio. This music video just adds even more depth to the song. Amazeballs!
There is only one problem with this to me and that is the changing of the date. I like this cover, they would have done it justice if it wasn't for that one fault.
@@Dermacrosis the year was changed because that is the year Dolores died.
@@trevortomei2793 actually its because of the fact that wars are still going on (in 2018 at least), maybe its also a nod to her death but i think the theme of the video and the starting screen are more for that
totely agree with you man .
@@krishm7812 Trevor is correct about why the change of date.
Northern Ireland would understand this song this most
Not sure what I enjoy more the lead singer's amazing voice or that awesome guitar solo . Dolores would have been proud R.I.P
This is one of the most touching and heart-wrenching tributes to a musical artist in history. RIP Delores. You are missed and will never be forgotten.
I agree
I agree too
O'Riordan wrote this song out of pure hate and anger for the IRA after they killed two little boys (ages 3,7)with bombings during The Troubles. She wanted the world to know that wasn't what Ireland, her 'family' was supposed to be. These guys do a fantastic job of taking that song and making it their own while still carrying the weight of Dolores' words and feelings. Amazing cover. "This song's our cry against man's inhumanity to man; and man's inhumanity to child." - Dolores O'Riordan.
Nobody was right during the troubles
Welp, the lead singer just lit any understanding of O'Riordan's outrage at oppression on fire saying he had never experienced racism and the current protests and outrage are manufactured. He is a piece of shit. Lucky him never experiencing racism but jesus, what a piece of shit for saying there is nothing behind the protests.
@@yebhx I saw that, and it made me sick. I am actually pulling this out of a playlist I use when I write because of it. I don't think she would be pleased with his statements.
@@yebhx By "protests" do you (and him) mean the peaceful protests, or the pricks lighting everything on fire? The peaceful protests are clearly backed by reason, but the pricks lighting everything on fire aren't.
@@yebhx Did you conveniently gloss over the part where he said the outrage was justifiable from BLM etc? He is referring to Antifa and media when he's talking about protests being hijacked (true). It's so dumb that if someone doesn't agree politically... They must be canceled. Like I'm conservative but Hollywood is extremely left. I haven't boycotted all entertainment in my house because they bash conservatives all day long
This song gets better and better every time i hear it. R.I.P Dolores
On of the best covers, ever done... Extremely well done. Delores would be proud...
Children die in wars of power everyday. That's the point. That's the problem. Beautiful song. Beautiful cover. Let us never forget the message.
Linkin park has a quote in one of their songs, "When the rich wage war it's the poor who die". Honestly one of my favorite quotes and it rings true so often
@@Carl2016 i will pay half the poor to kill the other half
And what kind of power wars should any children die in? Unfortunately they seem to be casualties

Still gives me the chills 😢 Even more so when one learns of the context for this tribute🙏
And that's happening right now over with ukraine 🇺🇦 russia 🇷🇺 conflict
Such a beautiful song it has so much passion and so much power! And yes it's a tribute to the Cranberries and the singer RIP and may God keep there families safe and watch over them, death isn't the end but the beginning of so much more.
