  • For anybody wondering what this footage is, it's from Ireland. During the early 20th century there was a revolution against the british. Long story short the Irish got their land back except for Northern Ireland which belonged to the british. This was decided by a treaty. The president of Ireland disagreed with it and wanted a united Ireland. He set up the IRA (Irish Republican Army/Anti-Treaty) and the other side was Pro-Treaty. There was a civil war with the Pro-Treaty side of Ireland winning, and that's showing footage of that stuff

    • it's not showing footage of the civil war that happened in 1920's this is more the troubles which happened after Ireland became a republic but tensions In the north still remained between Catholic republicans and protestant loyalists which boiled over in the 60's I believe and caused a 30 nearly 40 year long war between IRA and British forces and British backed UVF(the ira don't represent the Irish government but do fight for a unified Ireland) but this achieved noting and caused needless bloodshed and that what the songs about the fighting in northern Ireland :) but you were mostly right
