For people in the gaming space like Ludwig, you’ll miss a lot of the stuff on the outside with how big gaming has become and the fact the YT algorithm stopped promoting gaming after 201.

    • I feel like what's also missed is all the "viral videos" cameo like the super hero kid shooting at the zombie baby prank that scares the girl that doesn't want her brother to get old. That's literally 3 huge viral videos one after the other being referenced in 1 scene. (It's at 9:02 ). This is why IMO old youtube was way better in terms in of Rewind videos. It wasn't only creators coming in and doing something as part of a cameo but also reference to viral things. in the 2013 one which he called cringe, you have kid president which was big back then, all the goats referencing that goat singing instead of singers trend, You have the real beauty sketches mixed in with Convos with my 2y/o, you have prancersise done by the actually lady from the viral video, You have the girl from the interpretation dance video recreating it followed by the bar mitzvah dancing kid recreating his dance. I feel like that's the big difference between now KZhead/Internet and then KZhead/Internet. Things that went viral were seen by almost everyone. Now it's all curated for you so you might miss out on something that others think is "viral". Which is why I feel like later rewinds fail. Not only do they try to cram a lot of people in a video they don't have much to reference in terms of viral videos/trends. In 2018 they used such board terms as viral ideas like Mukbangs, Fortnite and Kpop. Instead of doing like pewdiepie did and dug up viral memes and viral youtube moments even if controversial.

People who were watching daily life and challenges KZheadrs since like 2012 know nearly everyone for the next few Rewind years. • How I see it: 2005-2009 - Someone pointed out that this era is a myth and that’s literally a perfect description. The prehistoric era. 2010-2013 - The Golden Age of KZhead. It’s a lot of wholesome content that is probably cringe looking back on it but every creator was genuine and built the foundation for KZhead. 2014-2016 - Everything started to get bigger. More and more creators started to rise and KZhead felt like one giant community. The corporations were slowly starting to creep in however… (imo this was peak KZhead) 2017 - We don’t talk about this year. 2018-2019 - This is the start of where KZheadrs started to feel more like brands rather than creators. Money seemed to be a main drive for many, and content didn’t seem all that genuine. Internet culture also became “disfunctional” and “batshit insane”. Corporations have pretty much become a part of KZhead. 2020-Now - This time period was probably not what people wanted, but honestly it’s what people needed. A lot of reflection occurred during the pandemic, and overall brought the community closer. The big creators were struggling with ideas and ways to create, but the smaller creators thrived and grew as a result. As we gained a little bit of normalcy, it has seemed to be a good balance of creators. Conclusion: There has been high peaks and low lows with KZhead, but there could be a bit of optimism moving (only a bit, they can totally ruin this site if they felt like it)

  • 2020 was the year of what I call the "Duration Chasm" where videos became either 30 second shitposts or half an hour to 3hr essay length pieces about extremely niche subjects and there is no in between. The ten minute video is dead, videos now take up a full day to listen to and theyre not afraid to go balls to the wall. 2hrs, 4hrs, 6 hrs. Its gotten so that a 1hr video feels short.

    • Growing up and looking back at embarrassing things, or seeing weird stuff that's just plain "wtf" to look at was considered to be cringe and still is. I agree, the cringe stuff existed for years, but was higher in the 2013-2016 era since a variety of new things were introduced into KZhead that people disliked. The Harlem Shake (created by George Miller aka Filthy Frank) was a trend that everyone did and since then, George himself stated to be embarrassing at times since he never understood why it became trendy. Before 2013, many of those things were simply considered comedy or entertainment, such as the Numa Numa, Star Wars kid, etc. Chocolate Rain

    • @@user-or8ql3fe5v never claimed to. But as a person with eyes and opinions, I have the brain capacity to criticize a KZhead video. If being able to think critically about the stuff I watch makes me an “Internet connoisseur”, than very well. But don’t patronize me because I don’t take “biggest KZheadr and best three memers” as a prestigious title.

  • The early days of KZhead were so wholesome the videos were simple but they had a charm to them because of how most of them were just people in their houses recording random things happening in their lives with a camcorder
