Aiden Nicholas yes it is. He understood what consequences come with cheating while married. At the end of the day if it were the other way around he would also be entitled to half. Just make sure you have an ironclad prenup put in place before you get married seeing as though you have a problem with this.

I hate when they say "she gets half of HIS money." They built that company TOGETHER! He would not be where he is today without the love and support of his wife back when he had this crazy dream before the internet was what it is today. You can say he doesn't deserve her, but she definitely doesn't deserve his money for being a wife. She wasn't in it for the money, so why make it about that? She was an accountant, her husband was already doing quite well before marriage. An accountant was important, but it wasn't a unique job. He could've paid anyone some money for the job. There were many people who played much bigger roles in the company, lawyers, executives, managers etc. If they left the company, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't get 60 bn dollars, hell, some of them didn't even get shares. Also most if Amazon's revenue is not from e-commerce but from aws(Amazon web services), which was created long after she had anything to do with the company. He cheated on her, was a douchebag, she was a good wife, BUT, she definitely didn't deserve that money.

Normally I'd say no to situations like this... a partner doesn't deserve someones else's money that they worked hard for. BUT, she was married to him before the money so you signed that paper to say what's mine is yours. That woman helped him on his journey, she worked there AND stood by his side allowing him to make so much money, who's to say she didn't come up with ideas? We also don't know if they had a prenup stating if they commit adultery the other person gets half? I don't even care about the cheating. Give it to her. Edit: It's not karma... it's the right move regardless of the cheating. By saying 'karma' it ignores all of her hard work and implies she wouldn't deserve it had he not cheated.

So she works in Amazon for the starting years as an accountant, and after a couple of years she leaves the company(before most of the billions were made). Now would she deserve the money? @Anne Day 1. Werner vogles, pinkham, Christopher brown created aws and expanded it to Amazon cloud computing services in 2006 which make MOST of the money for Amazon. So are you actually gonna suggest that coding for cloud computing in it's initial days is comparable to some accounting. 2. His parents invested the money VOLUNTARILY. They didn't die and he didn't 'inherit' it. 3. All the executives get compensated because they are still working with Amazon and throughout it's 'billions making' period of early and late 2000s. 4. If Mackenzie started working as an accountant early on and continued throughout today, (which she didn't, left the company at her convenience quite early on) I would say she deserves a percentage of shares(obviously not half).

@Anne Day as far as the wife is concerned, she didn't build the company either or if she did have a hand, it was much insignificant compared to others. As far as sacrificing her career, no one forces her, it was voluntary. No voluntary action is deserving of legal payouts. Some might argue that her career was furthered. It wasn't like she didn't in Jeff's wealth. She lived in million dollar homes, flew in private jets, mingled with elites. Also her children enjoyed all that. Furthermore she had all the luxuries and time to write her novels, which Jeff would be the first and most supportive reader of. Finally I'm not making a moral judgement on her. She was a good supporting wife, he cheated and was POS, BUT her getting paid and paid that much is not at all economically or legally sensible.

Everytime u saw freddy on the real he looked miserable. Jeannie didn't even want to have sex with him. She don't respect him. Then she called him a male bitch on live TV. Amen to that! Cheating is the most deplorable thing you can do! There are so many steps and outs before anything gets to cheating that it makes no sense to me why someone would in any way trust someone who cheated after the fact. If someone you were in business with stole money from you, whether $10 or $100, would you go back into business with them? I would hope not; definitely not right away and before it's proven that their unfaithful and untrustworthy character is no more. The same goes for ANY type of relationship.

As far as sacrificing her career, no one forces her, it was voluntary. No voluntary action is deserving of legal payouts. Some might argue that her career was furthered. It wasn't like she didn't in Jeff's wealth. She lived in million dollar homes, flew in private jets, mingled with elites. Also her children enjoyed all that. Furthermore she had all the luxuries and time to write her novels, which Jeff would be the first and most supportive reader of. Finally I'm not making a moral judgement on her. She was a good supporting wife, he cheated and was POS, BUT her getting paid and paid that much is not at all economically or legally sensible.

There are so many steps and outs before anything gets to cheating that it makes no sense to me why someone would in any way trust someone who cheated after the fact.
