Im a bank fisher so electronics do me no good. Part of the fun of fishing is figuring where the bass are on your OWN!
Exactly! When people realize these guys with all the electronics aren’t fisherman. A fisherman is a guy that goes out and finds them on his own .
Have either of you watched the zaldain video? Multiple anglers say that its scopin and hopin. Just because you can see them doesnt mean theyre going to bite.
@hughjanus5321 Have you watched the podcast the Zaldain's had a while back with Josh Jones where he stated there was one crappie lake he knew of that had been decimated by ffs? Because I did.
Long before FFS crappie lakes have been wiped out.@@johnmanning1048
@@Fishincharlie so you have gone along with what “ they “ are saying . If you also listen to most of them “ they “ want to go back to real fishing . Facts are facts bro , this isn’t fishing and how fish and game has let this nonsense go on for as long as it has is beyond me .
Pro fishing is a joke.
Watching the backs of bass fishermen looking down at their electronics during the entire television broadcast is definitely disappointing.
Yeah I know man and watching their backs prior to FFS as they cast and cast and cast and not catch anything was really terrible to watch as well. It’s the exact same thing. Instead of looking forward, now they look down.
😂😂😂
@@9ToesFishing my question is could these guys win without it? I'm gonna bet the standings would change real fast. If you take the sonar away I'll garentee theses guys drop right off
@@jedsteelwell2354 Yeah I bet you were something else before you got hurt huh ...could've gone pro yourself!!!
Two things you realize your complaining about watching other people fish that's the equivalent of people who watch the NFL draft and complain. The other is they have developed how to show the livescope screen which will help solve that issue.
This argument always makes me think of the time when Takahiro Omori won the Classic years ago. He went to this place where the water was muddy and there was a little bit of current, and he just was there on pure instinct- His instincts were screaming at him where to fish, and he went with his instincts- there were NO ELECTRONICS to tell him there were some hawgs up in that brush- He had years and years of dedication, years and years on the water, he had turned his brain into a bass finding computer- and on that day his brain had figured them out better than anyone else- And when he set the hook on that huge hawg that nailed his crankbait- He kept saying over and over ¨I knew it!!!! I knew it!!! I knew the fish would be here!¨ So here is the tragedy- The joy and the thrill that Takahiro felt on that day when he FIGURED OUT where the fish would be and then he won the classic- These guys now days will never experience a thrill like that in bass fishing...Without those stupid machines they probably couldn´t even catch a bluegill with a cricket and a bobber. Gimme 1985 anyday- Bill Dance versus Roland Martin Versus Tom Mann versus Jimmy Houston... That was REAL BASS FISHING! They had those slow crappy boats with a flash unit- and they knew MORE about bass fishing than these modern pros will ever understand, period! And as a child, I loved to watch those tournaments on TV!!!!
remember that like it was yesterday.......won the Classic on 3 casts into some bushes on a squarebill ........I refuse to say those days are over..........no way
I have shown that to my wife several times she loves it when he says I knew it I just knew it. Lake Wylie. I've fished that spot many times and it was just a fluke for him lol
Your wrong.
I neww it... ahhh noda one...gotta go...I gotta go. I KNEWIT. 😂 Those days are over

It’s shining deer…you said it best
I disagree. It’s bow hunting with drones. Still takes skill but much easier learning curve.
Hunting high fence at night with thermal scope lol.
What sucks is even if the fishing industry bans FFS in tournament fishing it won’t help the fact that it’s decimating the crappie
Very true
Absolutely
Also decimating the Striper and Hybrid populations. The meat fishermen using LS and FFW will empty out lakes in a matter of just few years now.
I wish people would talk about it more crappie with be completely gone in the next 20 years seriously
There’s absolutly zero data to back up any of these claims. None, no scientific data or any other. FFS has been around for a long time, especially in the crappie world and every fishery around that I know of is just as healthy. It’s a bogus claim with no data to back it up and that’s been proven over and over and over again.
It really sucks that FFS is allowed in the High School Bass Association Tournaments as well. We dont have one and there are a few other kids that dont have one. We dont even have a chance compared to all the other kids whose dad has the FFS. We were on Rayburn a couple weeks ago in the tournament and all you seen is people standing on the front of their boats staring at a screen trying to catch deep water fish. Just ridiculous. Its not that Im ticked I dont have one, I just dont think it should be allowed in High School. Not all kids can afford to have FFS setup. Make these kids all fish on a level playing field. At least at a minimum, have FFS allowed tournaments and FFS not allowed tournaments. I would like to see all these anglers bring in the fish they catch without FFS. It wont happen.
When people say just because you see them on FFS doesn't mean they will bite are wrong. Scott Martin proved that at the tournament at Lake Okeechobee where he chased down this big bass for 1hour until he caught it. Instead of it being a reaction bite it was an irritated bite. Irritate them until they bite.
Exactly, not sporting at all
Same thing happens at tournaments during the spawn without FFS
@@christopher9076 Yep...which should be outlawed as well !!!!
And.. he’s an elite. Should have NEVER been allowed to fish an open.. elites in opens should be banned.. if you can’t qualify in the division you belong in then maybe you don’t belong there…😮
Ray Scott is rolling in his grave. How can you ban things like the number of lines on the water at one time, the maximum allowable rod length allowed, the number of hooks allowed on an Alabama rig, etc, but yet you can have 7 giant graphs and 12 different transducers ? What’s next using drones over flats with range finders or using underwater drones with cameras so you can count how many fish are on a structure and confirm their the correct species and size ? I totally agree Randy that the guys winning now are mostly talentless hacks. It’s like a Sim Racing driver competing against an actual professional driver in a real car on a real track. In reality they’re not even close in terms of talent. Fishing is being dominated by lazy gamers right now NOT professional fisherman.
Amen brother
Preach brother. Wipe your ass with your hand instead of toilet paper. That’ll really help the movement. Let’s put lead back in paint and arsenic back in the wood too!
Dang bro stop giving them ideas 😜
I showed my wife this video and another 1 of them using FFS (I have never mentioned ever to her about FFS) I just wanted to see her reaction. She looked at me in astonishment that why would they allow this and is that legal? My wife said do those young kids really need $50K of electronics in order to catch fish? Where did they get the $$$$ for that and $80K for a boat. etc etc etc My wife said these Influencers, Tik-Toker's, etc. generation of young adults are all looking for attention and want to out do each other. They do not want to work for it, they just want it given to them. Then she said your not going to buy 1 of those are you? You always catch fish and do good. What my wife really saying was "your not going to buy one"...LOL
More and more pros, including some big names, are starting to speak out against FFS on vids, podcasts, and interviews. Support is definitely growing.

@@sterlHAsilvai wanna know who ever tf said you had to have a $300,000 set up to fish? First off, none of us do this for a living. If you’re a recreational fisherman, buying a $100,000 Ikon/Cat/Vexus/Phoenix/FXR. You’re either filthy rich, have money to blow, use it as a tax write off, or care too much about what people think. If you’re a rec fisherman with 6x 12”-16” graphs on your boat, you’re outside your needs. You don’t have to buy a LX21, VX21, 921 elite, FXR21, F21 Predator etc. i have a ‘20 F195 Falcon, with 2 helix 10s at the console that came on the boat, a helix 10 and Garmin 126 with LS at the bow. When, Lord willing, FFS is finally banned from certain aspects of tournament fishing....we will owe Randy a big debt of gratitude.
Never gonna happen
Unfortunately, Bassmaster and MLF are not going to do anything about it. It will take the state fishery agencies to notice populations decreasing, then their answer will be cutting the limit to 3, then 1, then catch & release only. There is no natural resource that is unlimited. Ask the native Americans where the wild herds of bison are.
Keep dreaming.
Shows how stupid you are for losing sleep over electronics! Get a life. It's not going anywhere
It WILL happen! And yes, we will.
Really appreciate the Zaldains for putting together that video to shed light on what's going on. It's gotten completely out of control...the sport has morphed into something unrecognizable. This is not the same sport I fell in love with when first starting out...
No practice days, no FFS, limit tackle, rods, etc.
Keep preaching Randy! Hope more people keep jump on the bandwagon against this ridiculous trend. Can you imagine a dad taking his kid out to teach him how to fish? "Look son, just keep an eye on the screen until you see a fish"......."Thanks Dad! This is just like my video game at home! Why didn't we just stay home and do this?"
I thought the same dang thing, but I would add in we don't have to get up early either

Well said Randy...Thank you
The sport of bass fishing is in trouble on so many levels and no one is stepping up to govern this mess. Where is this generation's Ray Scott? Keep going Randy!
Although I dont disagree. It’s funny, a guy I know that’s been fishing all his life has said to me, “ I see no difference. Sometimes I catch fish, sometimes I don’t. I haven’t noticed a change in any of my fisheries.” I think it’s all perspective. I watch these types of vids so, In my mind fishing is over, my hobby is done. He watches nothing so, In his, “what are you rambling on about, get that lure wet and let’s listen to nature and not your worries.”
If Ray Scott was still alive I believe he would tell all the Never Scopers to shut it and deal with it. Ray was a no nonsense guy that had a dream to further the sport in any way possible. FFS will never be banned, limited sure but never banned.
I totally agree, but its not the LS'ers ruining it.
Hey it's just capitalism. How this country works. And yes, it sucks

Too late. They already have them it's called kayak tournaments. There's going to be a bass tournament here in Michigan and I think 4 other states. Kayaks only. Can't wait
Great video Randy I 100% agree
Totally agree with your concerns! With advanced sonar technology on the rise, it will kill Bass Master! You can no longer call this fishing!
Now we are talking , get em MrRandy , and we agree with you BASS needs to stop letting these guys use this tech , it’s cheating , it’s spotlighting , it’s taking over the use of big tackle bags full of tackle , Tackle Warehouse , and Bass Pro Shops profits on tackle is going down hill , no one needs all the tackle we needed before , it’s going to get to where they only need FFS baits , no more big tackle bags , we need these companies to bring up that their losing profits w tackle cause of FFS
It's all about the money
Very nice Randy. Totally agree.
Well said! Keep fighting!
How about the state’s wildlife agencies ban these electronics!
They are starting to ban cell cameras for hunting because people have taken it way too far far. I go to the outdoor to get away from stuff like this and the art woodsman ship is a lost art and people are sitting and waiting on a deer to be on cell camera sent to the phone and they go out and hunt that spot which like I said they have went to far with it. I walk one acre of public land and I see 20-30 cameras
I’m in southern Indiana and I see a lot of regs start in the west and move our way so I think you’re right in that as long as it’s allowed on that lake or that state the tournaments will allow it. I’m worried in 30ish years fish will be a protected species because of electronics like this and it’s going to get better and cheaper so every person will have it and not everyone is smart enough to know how to handle fish that is pulled from deep water where fish go to hide. It’s not sustainable at all. Really it should only be used for fish study type of people
Now this is a great idea!!! I think it's time to address the states with this.
You guys must be commi democrats

Thank you Randy. 👍
I've been a BASS member since the 70's & have always enjoyed in watching & learning new techniques. FFS has taken the actual skill level to an absolute low. I questioned side imaging when it came out, however I have adapted & like it, but has never replaced my way of fishing, but has greatly enhanced my way of discovering new places & provided me with more of a underwater picture of the places I do fish. Nothing should take away actual fishing & the experience needed to & the surprise of, catching that one in a lifetime fish. Go Randy Go!
You just spoke up for a million bass anglers that actually go out and have fun trying to figure out the puzzle and actually working to get a bite
People are going to need neck braces on instead of just fishing and casting all day a couple advill helps next day
Because what people want to do on their only day off is spend most of their time on the water looking for fish instead of catching them. Do you hear how fkn stupid you sound?
Exactly, you feel a sense of accomplishment when you figure them out without FFS.
Because it's oh so hard to catch a bass. Man, you guys make it seem like it's such a hard thing to do. Go learn to chase muskies, or tarpon. Anyone can catch a bass.
Somebody needs to setup an incentive program that will pay the top two anglers who don't use FFS a bonus. This could be similar to how boat manufacturers pay a bonus to the top finisher using their boat. A sponsor like Bridgeford would make a huge splash with a program like this and it would allow the anglers who don't use FFS to actually win some money.
That’s a great idea. Give a fish weight total goal for a season or tournament to reach and have it teared so if you hit this weight without ffs pays this and if you hit this weight then you hit the second tear and get this much money. I love this idea.
I like this. $1000 Strike King bonus for fish caught on a Strike King jig…or something similar.
Randy could even set this up himself. Ask for fan donations and then give out "Randy Blauket Awards" to the top finishers who don't use FFS. Imagine if he raised a lot of money for that from fans. It would be a strong signal to Bassmaster.

I’ve been a BassMaster member for 15 years.. I’ve emailed them & let them know how boring watching the Elite Series is.. I don’t plan to renew my membership & that’s sad.. I hope they do the right thing. It’s getting totally out of hand
Watching bassmaster for hours on end is not a comparison to what you may have watched in the past. You used to watch a one hour show loaded with fish catches. Would you consider watching an angler go jig fishing for several hours where you might get six bites all day. I consider Blaukat as a knowledgable fisherman who has much to offer but he is the one who used to jump over logs and load his boat with water to enter areas that would normally be off limits. Thus the rules were changed to prevent this from happening. The one thing that FFS has proven is that 90% of the fish are behind you if you are casting towards the shore, something that Elwood "Buck" Perry brought forth more than fifty years ago.
Same with MLF . Not all use it but most and the one's who win , do.
It was pretty fun to see these pro's setups ... it's all about efficiency for them. The reason they all have so many graphs is that they want to dedicate a graph to a single function. Each graph is dedicated to do8ng only one thing so they have one for FFS, one for mapping, one for 360. They are also running multiple transducers so they don't have to constantly switch between them. Is it truly necessary? Not really it just makes things easier for them. You don't see recreational anglers doing this. We just have 1 or 2 graphs on the console and 1 or 2 on the bow and just switch modes between them when we need to use different modes. The world of bass fishing does not revolve around pro tournaments. The fact that 200 guys have $30k of electronics on their boat is pretty much meaningless to the rest of the 5 million bass fisherman in the US ...
Hell yea Randy , spot on man . This might be one of your best videos

Lots of respect to you Randy. You talk about the things that none of the other pros will.
My forward facing sonar is bluetoothed to my dc reel so the perfect amount of line is cast and the reel is self cranking so the corresponding bait runs at the right distance and depth.
Amen well said sir !!!
Well said Randy. I don’t compete in tournaments at all. I fish because I love it and grew up with it, but I still feel like fishing has gotten exceedingly worse since FFS became more and more popular. I live on the Potomac River. Occasionally MLF tournaments will come by and blow up all my spots and I sit there and shake my head at them all staring at their screens, taking away healthy chunks to weigh in somewhere else, where the fish will inevitably die from the stress of being in a live we’ll all day.
I have been a fisherwoman for many years. Creeks, rivers, lakes, ponds, banks, docks...and I mean I had a rod in my hand when I was 2 years old and fish 2-3 times a week in all seasons and in all weather. Fishing is in my DNA. My uncle was a charter boat captain on Lake Erie and Lake Michigan and on our journeys fishing, he taught me many many things. One thing he taught me, radar will never be as good as your experience on the water. He said never rely on it to find fish as it will not produce the biggest, best fish. He used his instincts to find fish for his clients. And used radar only to find depth. So as I grew, his advice stayed with me. I have fished boat, kayak, and wade. I have flied, baitcasted, spin fished. Hell, I went noodling once. I have climbed rocks in sketchy situations in remote regions to find large fish. And over the years, I have learned to read water, judge weather, read each species and their behavior and find the fish. I never had sonar, refused all electronics though I could afford it for my kayaks and judged depth by how fast my sinker or spinner dropped to hit bottom. I dragged the bottom with my rod and could tell you what I was hitting. Did I spook em, sure....don't care, still caught em. That's how I trained myself. So fast forward.....I actually considered maybe joining a kayak tournament to challenge myself more with no aspirations other than to challenge my skills on paper: and I started watching videos and was SHOCKED to see the electronics on these boats and kayaks in the pros. I have no doubt these pros are great anglers. But you couldn't tell given all the gadgets they have on their boats to try and find fish. I'd be upset if this was required of me in a tournament. I actually think I would fail miserably if I relied on a screen to find fish. I think I would catch less fish. Fish can sense those sound waves in the water. How do I know this: I fished near a bass boat one day in a tournament. He scooted up behind me. No matter. I am used to it. I was raking those bass in while that angler on the boat was getting pissy staring at me catching "his" fish. I said to him, fish can hear, and sense sonar vibrations at certain depths. That's a fact. And they are driven away from it in many cases. My uncle had to shut down his sonar during fishing sessions because of it. I said are you using sonar, he said yes. I said stop and you might have more luck. And I told them you're spooking them over to me. Thanks. He sped off. I have no idea who he was.....but I don't think he won. But that day, I sure did. Best day I had bass fishing on a lake in awhile. I lost count how many bass I caught. All because those boats were spooking the heck out of those fish to safer zones like under trees and rocks and far away from sonar. And this lake was used to boats, but not these fancy bass boats with all the sonar. I feel bad for the anglers in the pros if they are forced to do this. I'd be bored out of my mind doing it. And, I'm convinced it hurts them. Something should change for their sake. They want to fish, not stare at screens. Great topic and I hope someone looks at this from a logical perspective and not with dollar signs in their eyes. Should it be banned.....absolutley....but not because of a fair chase situation but because I think they would do better without all of the sonar.
I too love Dangerous and what they do. I watched the video yesterday and my take away ? Every veteran he interviewed either said they wanted to go back to fishing or, they clearly were uncomfortable having it in their boats. Plus, the vets had the least amount on the boats. You could see it in their eyes, even Scot Martens body language showed the discomfort. They are clearly being forced into this and honestly, they are stuck. Great great video and will help bring more light to the ridiculous nature of how things have become. 👌
Well said Randy spot on
Best Video yet Randy! Kudos! Setup 50 computers somewhere and have virtual fishing game tournaments. Its basically the same thing- for sure not "fishing"
Go Randy Go! Thanks for being our voice and don't stop. History will be on your side, you're speaking the truth and we appreciate it.
Well spoken, intelligent man. Very impressive. Thanks for being a Leader Randy!
100% truth. Keep up the good work.
Preach it Randy. BAN it all as far as I am concerned
Thee was this 11yr old in Texas who just recently caught a record 14lb largemouth using live scope. I agree it ain't fishing. It's like an entire police force comprised of 8s - 10s posing as prostitutes, walking the streets, approaching civilians with propositions and then arresting anyone that gives in. It's electronic fish in a barrel.
Randy you've been spot on about all the things you've talked about concerning FFS. I watched the video last night myself and the amount of electronics on all of the boats is absolutely 💯 ridiculous. 5 to 8 graphs 4 transducers and let's not forget the newest thing Boat breaks of all things up to $60K just to fish.
Your spot on Randy.
We were laughing at the video. The 4 graphs at the console 🤣🤣🤣
I’ve been tournament fishing since I was 12 years old and then last two years have been the worst two tournament seasons of my life. I hate FFS and know it definitely has hurt my success rate. So many fish are getting caught in the middle of our lakes that probably die, due to delayed mortality. Hope we have fish to catch years from now, but don’t know what will happen. I agree with you 100% Randy. It’s so sad.
Fujita has 4 live transducers on his rig. Not only are you having to compete against perspective mode but now live submarine mode. BASS and other tournament organizers has got to put the breaks on this electronic mental derangement. Just watch, the rest of the elites will feel they have to add more live transducers to stay competative.
Thank you Randy for speaking out.
Randy what you have been saying about ffs finally found an answer for me. I looked forward to the weekend and watching bass fishing on TV but now I don't watch any. The problem is I've lost interest because the shows are boring watching the pros using ffs.
I agree 100%, thanks for your voice
I’ve been saying all along just wait until the bait companies start taking a huge hit in sales, who the hell wants to buy a $25 jerk bait or a swimbait when you can buy a $4 jig head and a soft plastic minnow bait
It is crazy seeing. I've been fishing my whole life and in just last 3 years i have a helix 7g3 on dash and i love it for mapping. Never had another graph
If this keeps up I bet you see the co angler numbers drop tremendously because they will figure out that casting to the dead sea isn't paying off without ffs
So true, and so sad.
I remember when BASS outlawed the Alabama rig because it gave the angler an unfair advantage. Go figure,,,,,
Yep, more people are starting to catch on. Good job, Randy!
You are so correct!! It is like legalized poaching. If not put into check this will end the sport of bass fishing. This will take the pros of our sport to step up and put a stop to this madness.
Even small tournaments with 20 to 25 boats now have about taken over also Poorer people are just donating to fish I quit all of them
I’m about to do the same thing. It sucks!
Agree with you Randy, Have a Bridgford ProSeries non ffs series Than you have them knock on your door. Timing is now make the change
Thank you for having the balls to stand up to these greedy corporations pushing this crap on the sport. THIS IS NOT FISHING AND THERE IS NO SKILL INVOLVED ANYMORE
I saw that video yesterday and my first thought was Randy’s head is going to explode! 🤯
There is also a generational swing aspect to this as well. It's been described as video game fishing. A lot of these new pros likely play video games. I do feel for the vets of the sport here.. From a recreational aspect. I do have live scope, of course not at anywhere near the magnitude of $40,000. I enjoy using it but I also use it in a little different manner where I have pre mapped waypoints and do not use it to find fish. I just use it to see if there are fish at my mapped locations once I get to them. As a recreation fisherman who only gets to go pretty much on the weekends, it has cut down on fishing a lot of dead water. I can say from watching Toledo Bend it is not exciting to watch, but that would change if they actually ran a split screen to where you were actually seeing the live scope screen, rather than just the back of the angler's head.Looknfornthat change to come quickly... The other aspect that this will affect in a big way are co-anglers. Outlawing these for recreational fishing is just not realistic unless the companies do a full buyback on equipment, which will never happen. I do completely understand and respect your stance on this from a professional angler standpoint. Unfortunately, like everything else in the world, it's all about the benjamins, advertising, and sales etc...
Randy, Thank you for standing tall on this issue. Me and my kids use to bond over fishing and watching bass tournaments. My kids like video games but even they do not like watching anglers staring at a screen. They have lost all interest in watching fishing tournaments which really sucks! FFS has ruined fishing! And kids and adults interest in watching the sport of bass fishing
