I was at a conference not too long ago and THIS song was sung during the service. The songs we select during worship are just as important as the sermons we preach. This video will help you analyze worship songs to ensure they are theologically accurate and proper to sing. This particular Bethel song is one that should be avoided and in this video I'll explain why.

  • Guys, I am not against Bethel music. But this particular song is not theologically accurate and I hope you’ll gain better skills at discerning these types of songs so you don’t sing them nor introduce them to your congregation if you are a worship leader.

    • Exactly 💯. I usually like singing Hillsong's and Bethel's Music but I don't like worship songs with New Age philosophy, paganism or inappropriate words in it because you're exactly right that worship songs meant to glorify The Lord our God through music is just as important as a preacher's sermons. AMEN brother Parr we're here for the furtherance of The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ 🙏❤️. This has nothing and everything to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a fellow Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college student. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't. I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict. Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers. Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of but not macro or micro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant.

    • @@rjlbabbc Actually, that also comes to my mind when I've read those lyrics. But yeah, I kinda agree with brother Allen here. It's very subtle way of credit-, or more specifically, glory-grabbing. When worship songs shift from Glory to God to glory to me, I think it's about time we reconsider the songs. For me personally, I can easily change those "I" into "You" so as to redeem the lyrics of this song. But maybe that's just me.

  • I've never heard the song but I took the walls come crashing down line as when the Children of Israel shouted and the walls of Jericho came crashing down. When I'm obedient to God, and do what he commands me to do, demons are cast out and the sick are healed and souls are saved. Not because of anything in my power. It's 100% God working through me.

We have the power to heal, in the name of Jesus Christ.. including casting out demons. We are anything but powerless as Christians.. Jesus himself even said we are like gods and we are to be Christ-like. We can do all things with Christ who strengthens us.

  • Respect but I'm not sure about this one. As a fellow Christian (and fellow KZheadr), I really hope that everything I post below is viewed through the lens of mutual respect. I love your channel and learn a lot from you. If the lyrics had said instead, "I lift up my voice and shout and *_every mountain will be cast into the sea_* . . ." (from Matt 11:23) then I doubt we'd even be talking about these lyrics. The original Bible verse says " *_Whoever says_* to this mountain . . ." We're clearly supposed to say things with our mouths because that's the part that talks. And, mountains, walls? What's the difference? Also, Jesus did say directly, “He who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these *_he will do_* ." (John 14:12). Of course, the walls in the lyrics bring the walls of Jericho to mind, "the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat." (Joshua 6:20). God told them to shout and He clearly is always prompting us to pray in our own lives. There are other verses that echo these sentiments. This raises the question, is this an issue of theology or something as basic as faith, then? If our personal theology/doctrine/beliefs don't encourage us to pray for miracles, then we need to make more room for what Jesus told us. Also, the lyrics do clearly identify the source of the power/authority as Jesus (on the very same slide.). The slide @4:54 does not say, our voices can create miracles. It says, " *_When_* I lift my voice . . ." Those are two different statements. Jesus said, "When you pray . . ." more than once. All that said, if the question at the end of the video had asked, "Is this music *_Biblically_* accurate?" I'd say the answer is yes! If there are Bible verses that say we shouldn't pray, lift up our voice, or even shout for miracles, or that the Holy Spirit is retired from the business of miracles, then let's talk about those verses. ;-) I'll give you a real personal example that is an illustration of those lyrics (but, more importantly, the Bible verses that support them). Years ago, I injured my knee in sports. It didn't improve one bit for 2 months and there was constant pain. I was considering surgery. But I hadn't seriously prayed about it yet. I finally had the faith--prompted by God--to pray for healing (and I said those prayers out of my mouth) and received prayer at church from some people who laid hands on my knee. Within 48 hours, my knee was 100% healed. No more crutches. No more brace. God healed me *_when_* I lifted my voice. I didn't get healing until I prayed. In terms of common ground, I agree we should carefully examine the lyrics we sing. I agree that we are not little gods. We are not the source of miracles and we cannot create anything miraculously. We cannot "name it and claim it." But I don't see that slide of lyrics saying any of those things. I'm not even sure the lyrics implied those things. Again, you have my utmost respect. This is just a respectful disagreement. God bless.

  • I think you would just have to see the context of the "when i open up my mouth, miracles start breaking out" and the "when i lift my voice and shout, every wall comes crashing down" lyrics because they're surrounded by "I have the authority Jesus has given me" and therefore the lyrics aren't saying that I, the human being, am the one capable of crashing down the walls or that miracles break out because of ME but because of the authority Jesus has given me. Just like you said, worship music is just as important as the sermons but as you also most likely know, context is also very important and in this context, it's giving Jesus the glory and the credit for the walls crashing down and miracles breaking out. It's not about me. It's about Him and His authority that work through me.

    • While I don't ascribe to the law of attraction that many in the church do these days, I do generally agree with what you wrote here. I also thought of the imagery of Jericho and how this particular lyric was likely a symbol of things holding us back in our personal lives, not speaking of literal walls. It's also true that in many cases the things we beg for or think we know best are answered with "No" or "I know better" or "Not the right timing" from God, so we can't expect everything we declare to just happen right then and there. Even though we are His children, we can still be in error and ask for things not in accordance with His will. Plus, He disciplines those He loves and even allows horrible things to come into the lives of His children while we remain on earth. So we can't just wish away every difficulty. Sometimes those things are from His hand in order to grow us in ways we cannot fully understand.

Like scripture if we take things out of context we can misread what is trying to be shared. I do believe the words were not saying we have the power to break down the walls, or create a miracle by speaking…the following line refers to Jesus giving the authority … that’s what happens in the Bible. Jesus gave authority to heal but in the power of Jesus. My final thought refers to following the old saying… get the info straight from the horses mouth. • Hi. I don't usually make comments but for this one, I want to. I don't see anything wrong with that song. Besides, if you let the song being played while in worship mess up your state in the worship, it's basically your fault, not the song leader's or writer's. Worship should be in spirit and truth, the truth of God in your heart. You relate with God with that reality in your heart. At the end, though a worship leader leads a congregation in worship, God looks at the state of each individual heart, not how accurately the song is biblically. It is the perfection of Christ that covers us in this case, not whether we have perfect theology or not, though good theology is very necessary.

    • John Wesley was full of false theology... perverted the Scripture, redefined words to teach that men are not chosen by God from all eternity based on God's perfections and decretive will, but based on the puny creature's choice. Wesley belongs on a long list of heretics, not a long list of sound biblical theologians or bible teachers or evangelists. He followed Pelagius and Jacob Herman's (Arminius) false theology and built error upon error. George Whitfield wrongly commended him, giving rise to many sound teachers naming Wesley among the great teachers... solidifying the sea of false doctrine we are swimming in today.

    • Yes,the movement he started that became the Methodists were onto a good idea there. In the 18th century the tired old pretty corrupt Church of England did have a point in their sceptism of Wesley's movement. It very much ran and grew on enthusiasm which sounds great to our modern ears. We who grew up in the post 1945 world have lived in a culture all our lives that promotes enthusiasm as a driving force. Not bad in itself. But of course a "faith" based on your emotions and feelings can thrive when all is well but vanish when hard times strike. Certainly be much harder to sustain, abd (in some lines of thought) if those hard times have struck God doesn't love you and your faith wasn't true. Not my idea but one aspect of thought. Bad things happen to bad people theory. But to return to Wesley et al,they shone a light of hope and love into people's lives that were so grim, they showed a "way out". I live in the area where Wesley preached A LOT . This was a coal mining area back then, the miners lives were poor and grim and they were notorious for burning down toll gates and rioting. The people of the nearby city of Bristol hated and feared the miners of Kingswood. They saw them as feral animals not humans. When Wesley preached it's recorded the miners + their families were so overwhelmed by the sense of God's Love that he conveyed to them that their tears made white channels down their coal dust blackened faces.

That is why the next thing it says is "i have the authority that Jesus has given me" because it's the power of the holy spirit that does the miracle and not us.

  • When I lift my voice & shout is 1. Referencing the walls of jericho when they shouted & it came down (reminding us of the power & authority we have in Christ) 2. A metaphor saying when we lift up our voices and shout out praises to God, whatever obstacle (wall) or hardship (wall), etc. we’re facing will come down in Jesus’ name. The same thing for “when I open my mouth” that is a metaphor to praying or again, shouting praises to God & worshipping Him-the effect of THAT would be divine intervention, God intervening which is a miracle. That’s all they’re saying. Respectfully, you have to be more patient & wait until you KNOW you’ve received confirmation from the Spirit because you be reaching a lot-this isn’t the first time. I worry you get caught up in trying to release content & also help people which turns into you not taking the time to make sure the Spirit is speaking or taking the time to hear Him all the way/correctly.

There isn't a thing wrong with this song. 1 John 4:17 KJV Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. Peter in Acts 3:6 said "Such as I have give I thee..." Jesus said in Matthew 17:20 "YOU will say to this mountain..." Matthew 16:19; 18:18 "whatever you bind on earth..." If we have the Spirit of Christ in us as agreed on in Colossians 1:27 is it a hard thing to believe that when we open our mouths miracles break out? If the book of Job 22:28 bares witness that "you will declare a thing as it will be established..." even to them who the scripture says that they should be made complete without us (Heb. 11:40), why should it be a problem that we in whom resides the Spirit of creation, can not create in the same way according to His will and promptings? After all it is all by Faith (ref. Hebrews 11:1-3). Sad really 😞

  • I went to see the lyrics to this song as it is sung by Dante Brown and I truly believe what this song speaks of. I have attended holiness churches before that told me God is angry with us people because of sin introduced in the Garden of Eden. Now I want you to understand this, if God was so angry then why did he not destroy Adam and Eve and then start over again? He put us here to love Him and want to be with Him and when we failed, which He knew we would do then the plan He had ready was put in place. God created the Angels to praise Him and we know that Lucifer tried to overthrow Him but we know how that turned out. Just get your Bible and read all the words recorded of what Jesus said and you will understand that the one big problem he had with His disciples was faith. Notice how many times he reminded them of that one thing. He even told us that if we have faith as that as a mustard seed then we could tell the mountains to move. The leader of the disciples is Peter and yet when Jesus was going to be crucified Peter told him they would stop anyone from doing it. Then Jesus told him that before the cock crowed he would deny Jesus 3 times. Stop believing everything the pastor tells you sometimes as that is what causes problems with you. Read what Jesus said and know that He never tells you wrong. When he sent his disciples out two by two he told them to take nothing but their walking stick with them and to go immediately. It was a lesson in faith and how God will take care of you but we people have been conditioned to believe that we are not strong on our own and therefore do not truly believe that God can take care of you. I told you about me attending churches and being told so many things that makes God angry but the truth is that is really a lie. God loves you and if you love Him he will not let anything hurt you unless you allow it. God Bless all of you who love God.

  • With all due respect, I think you may be missing the point here. When I hear these lyrics, I’m reminded of the power of Christ that worked through Paul and Silas in Acts 16: 25-26. They lifted their voices and a miracle occurred (the prison walls crashing down). Surely this wasn’t by their human abilities, but by the authority granted to them through Jesus. In the same way, like the song says, when we lift our voices and shout, we have access to supernatural power through Jesus.

    • Yes that is what Luke 10:19 says but you didn't include the entire verse. How about the rest of the verse "and nothing shall by any means hurt you". Are you suggesting that this verse applies to you? Are you saying that you can handle snakes and scorpions "and nothing shall by any means hurt you". Lets keep in mind that this is an OT scripture and being taught to Gods chosen people Israel only. How do we know this, there are several scriptures that tell us that: Matthew 15:24 "But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel". So if the 12 were to Israel who do we have? We find in the book of Romans the Apostle Paul saying, Romans 11:13 "For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office": If that isn't enough then we have Galatians 2:9 "And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision". Simply put, the Apostle Paul was to go onto the "heathen" gentiles that would have been us then and now and the 12 "unto the circumcision" Israel. Lets keep in mind that the OT of MML&J (Hebrews 9:16) and the 12 were teaching a future kingdom on earth, the NT Apostle Paul is teaching a future heavenly kingdom and these two are not the same and can become quite confusing if one tries to blend it all together as if it applies to us today. I have to agree with the video but also mention that there are other Bethel songs that are just as bad.

  • When I lift my voice and shout Every wall comes crashing down Metaphor referring to the wall of Jericho Also a reference to when we praise God (lift my voice) and proclaim His name (shout) the walls in our minds of negativity, doubt, hurt, ect can be broken down. If WE confess OUR sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. - 1 John 1:9 WE must lift our voices. WE must confess Then God will do His part When I lift my voice and shout (my part) Every wall comes crashing down (His part) When I open up my mouth Miracles start breaking out When we preach the word of God, then God uses us as His messengers. The people of Nineveh repented because Jonah preached the word of God. Jonah 3. 6 When JONAH'S warning reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust. Doesn't say God's warning (but we know it came from God from previous verses. Luke we know these words in the song are about God because they established that in previous phrases). Doesn't say "God spoke through Jonah". It says JONAH'S WORDS Jonah did his part....proclaimed with his mouth the dire warning God told him. The people repented. Then God relented. God chooses to use you and me as His messengers. He used Peter, Paul, Andrew, ect He uses people like you and me today. When I open up my mouth (our part) Miracles start breaking out (God's part) Throughout the song God is being proclaimed as champion, undefeated, conquerer. If we interpret Scripture the way you are interpreting this song then we must get out our sharpie and start redacting verse after verse when Paul said, or Peter said, rather than "God, seized Paul by the Spirit, and spoke through Him". Men and women of the Bible did their part, and then God did His. The phrases of the song are typical Assembly of God type theology. Agree or disagree with the AG .... Your theology is YOUR interpretation of Scripture (rife with the failability of sinful man), it is not THE Unmitigated Truth. Unless you have acquired the ability to walk on water your understanding of Scripture is just as flawed as the rest of us.....like looking through flawed, cracked, wavy glass. BTW, the prevailing theology of Jesus' time demanded he was a heretic. The words of this song point me to God and remind me I am called to be His voice on Earth. When I am obedient then He will work through me. When I am not and you are not then He will go find some rocks to cry out. I hope and pray you will stop with these videos arguing over symantics and a demand that everyone say things your way. We don't all think alike. God didn't make us to be cookie cutters. Rather spend your time lifting up the saints and sharing the gospel forthright instead of this backhanded approach against those who don't say things your way. As Max Lucado said, "When fishermen don't fish, they fight." Let's stop fighting and start fishing. God bless you and keep you.

    • Although you could interpret it this way. The natural understanding is more word-faith. "When I open my mouth, miracles start breaking out, I have the authority, Jesus has given me." The reality is people think of beneficial superficial miracles, not the conversion of the lost. (something we don't have authority over anyway) "BTW, the prevailing theology of Jesus' time demanded he was a heretic." True, but it was unbiblical theology. Like obviously so. Are you suggesting that we should not call out heresy? Because some was knocking about in Jesus' day? (He called out the heresy then, should we not do the same now?) If we take on this particular theology as true, it leads to us becoming self obsessed. We think that we are failures when the things we utter don't come true. What if we don't see the miracles coming? And when they do come- we become prideful. Simple theological differences can lead to great sin, the more it embeds itself in our thinking. And ultimately on the line here is the authority and glory of God. He speaks through us. We are not apostles, we, like you say do get things wrong. There is power in the gospel, power in the spoken word, but it is not our authority given by Jesus, but his authoritative words. How terrible, for me to steal glory that is Gods. We sinfully do it in our lives, lets not sing it when we're worshipping him.

If you listen to the song and only wait for something suspicious to stand out and analyze that alone, you are going to find problems, just like someone seeking to bring down the Gospel with verses that can be misconstrued. What is the line that comes after “miracles breaking out”? “I have the authority Jesus has given me.” That right there is why I sing! That is why I have the been indwelled with the Holy Spirit! That right there is why we as believers can confidently say that miracles happen when we open our mouths in prayer! Praise God for the gifts of the Spirit, and I pray what I’ve said has been from God for you tonight!

  • I don’t see what’s wrong with the song. When the lyrics say “when i lift my voice and shout, every wall comes crashing down” for me that’s a very powerful phrase that changes me. When we don’t know what else to do or say bcs we’re so overwhelmed with whatever’s going on in life, we lift our praise not to change the circumstances, but to change us - to change our heart’s attitude towards the problem. For me personally when I am overwhelmed, i will push people away and isolate myself from them, even from God, so there’s this “wall” that i put up - it could be pride, shame, guilt, etc. and when i choose to praise him regardless of my circumstance, i remind myself of who He is and what He has done in my life; that’s when the “wall” comes crashing down. And when it comes to “when i open up my mouth, miracles start breaking out”, for me, again, it refers to what i’ve mentioned above - a change of heart counts as miracles too! I don’t see why it is weird bcs this song helps me to go through seasons in life, perhaps we have different interpretations :)

Is it only through a particular writing of songs can we draw closer to God and it’s pivot is of immense doctrinal importance? Can God not still work through our deficiencies and understandings and flawed human endeavours? Can God not still work and move within modern day dopamine induced, emotionally charged flashy songs of today? Our faith journey should be comprehensive, in step, aligned, moving towards Him. It functions in the reality of Grace

And I’ve seen these people lose their faith when people die. I saw a woman scream and shake my grandmother’s dead body saying that a miracle would be done, and it wasn’t. God can and does do miracles. People take songs like these too far. They let them change their theology to see God as a vending machine. Bethel, elevation, and hill song are all word of faith movement churches, which is the new name for the health and wealth gospel. This is not something to be trifled with. We must protect our flocks.

    • No, I don’t get what you’re getting it. You seem to be implying that God can work through anything (which I agree with this) so you assert that we shouldn’t be cautious of things because they could potentially be good even if they’re “flawed”. I’m insinuating that calling something errant flawed is misleading. A flaw is something you should strive to fix or improve, but it can be a long journey. Flaws are also evident to others. An error is wrong, and needs to be corrected asap, before it leads others astray. I’m probably not explaining it well, but there’s a huge difference between a flaw and errancy If you want to talk about different styles, genres, settings, etc. I would totally agree with you. We all have our preferences with these sort of things. But speaking on God and who he is an his attributes is NOT a preference that ebbs and flows like human preferences.

  • I'm not denying that to some Christians, including me sometimes when we hear lyrics or messages or prayers that I feel like they don't line up for whatever reason, usually biblical or just a testimony or reality we have lived says with conviction otherwise. Of course it feels like a splinter going against the grain. Now knowing Bethel and Jesus Culture as well as I think I do. (I'M A VINEYARD PERSON) I took lyrics more in line with their "doctoring" or way of teaching like speaking things into existence or a way of Christian kingdom principles way of spiritually living. For instance the idea: That because I am the keeper of the word, keeper of Christ, keeper of The Holy Spirit, I BRING REVIVAL with me everywhere I go. When I come into a place REVIVAL starts to happen because I've walked in. Healing takes place because I've walked in. People are saved from he'll because I have walked in. Now I believe it biblical as simple as Jesus Christ own words said we will do greater works than even him. Don't forget he walked on water and raised the dead so. The idea of being the keeper and amplifier of that power is what every Bethel/ Jesus's Culture Conference has taught and brought to the table. That's where my mind went when I heard the lyrics. And felt a need to defend if it isn't specifically Biblical

    • Are not prayers in the heart, a melody to God? I believe the power of confession (as what you were describing, speak unto mountains thus and thus) is contingent on personal revelation. For instance, the sons of Sceva, Acts 29 verse 15, "And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, Paul I know, but who are ye?" When the devil finished, he possessed all of them. It is not enough to call on the name of the Lord and expect some mystical power to do as you commanded. That power must be revealed to you. That to me is the difference. Jesus and Paul both had the ability to cast out demons because it was a revelation from God to them personally. The sons of Sceva, even though they said the right things, called on Jesus' name, did not have that revelation. This is the theological caveat that the song does not address clearly, and therefore can lead others astray. Yes, it is true if revealed to you God's revelation, that your words, (God's revelation) when spoken, will come to pass. These are not your words but the words of Almighty God. The issue is when I open "my" mouth, it implies that these are "my" words, and is therefore obscuring of the meaning written within God's word. I'm curious what you think about all of this. Or if you believe I am mistaken. ❤️ TLDR: "My" words are not scriptural. "My" mouth is therefore inconsistent.

    • I get the impression that Allen doesn't believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is for today. There are a lot of preachers out there who sound good but deny this part of Jesus teaching.

    • There is no way he meant that somehow our miracles would be greater in power than Jesus had. Greater can also mean in extent. Jesus Resurrected HIMSELF from the dead. Jesus rose a man to life DAYS after he was dead. But the Apostles and believers have taken the gospel to trillions of people in every part of the globe for 2000 years as they did smaller in impact but greater in volume and did many things Jesus could not do while in his human form. Peter preached and 5000 believed. Jesus BECAUSE he is with the Father and is seated on the throne is no longer limited to what one person (himself) was capable of, but what millions as His body, are capable of. So greater things seems to fit better, hermeneutically speaking, with the extent and impact of their miracles. NOT that somehow your POWER is greater than He had?!

    • This was my immediate thought, glad you posted it. Jesus even got frustrated with the disciples for not being able to cast out a demon. They performed many miracles after The Holy Spirit came upon them on the day of Pentecost. So I’m not sure what Bible this guy has been reading.

  • Hey Allen! I’m actually the guy that was singing this song at the conference you attended in Texas. Appreciate this video. And as I do agree with your thoughts on worship in general, I don’t think that what you’re saying is taking place is the actual meaning and heart behind the lyrics. We take lyrics seriously as well. And in this particular part of the song, it speaks of moments when the power of God was released through praise. It still remains about God. And Him being the one that goes before us and fights our battles when we lift up praise. Scripture in various places support that . Glad you enjoyed worship outside of that though! Was awesome seeing you in the crowd! If Y’all need us hit us up!

    • Yeah I don't agree with Allen on this one, respect him very much but this song doesn't pose a red flag in my opinion

    • I was there as well. You guys did a great job, but I immediately looked at the lyrics carefully when I heard this one (I'm always listening for new songs to bring to my church) and after reading them, I think that they are either very poorly communicating the author's intended meaning, or simply not in line with scripture.

    • @@michaeljessicapayton I can potentially see how it can be poorly communicated. But don’t see the misuse or anti scriptural aspect. How do you figure?

      @Whoischichi@Whoischichi2 жыл бұрын
    • @@Whoischichi I think Allan laid it out fairly well, but to put it simply, it seems to be a pretty blatant representation of word of faith theology.

  • I would love to know what you think of the song, "Reckless Love of God" by Cory Asbury! It has always just seemed wrong to me. What do you think?

  • With God in me, when I speak walls - the devil has put up in my life come crashing down. When I shout (with God in me) at the devil miracles come out- the devil moves away from me- sadness flees.
