제 생각은 처음 시작할때 악수하는 장면은 검은색 옷을 입은 사람은 헤이러(방탄의 안티)를 뜻하는거같고 악수하자 불타는거보고 막상 우리를 접해보니까 열광하네? 이런뜻으로 해석되구요 노래가 진행되면서 우리에게 열광하는 예전에 안티였던 너희를 용서해줄게라고 마무리 하는것 같습니다.

사회가 구조화되고 고정화 되면서 그 속으로 들어가서 일원으로 살기위해선 어느정도 '획일화'되어진 '코스'를 따라 살아야 하는 부분이 있죠. 좋은 대학을 위해 어려서부터 입시에 초점을 맞춰 획일적으로 공부해야하고, 대학에 진학하면 좋은 직장을 위해 취업경쟁으로 달려가서 안정된 소득을 획득하는 '코스'랄까요. 그 일원이되서 누릴 '안정감'을 위해 정해진 '코스'만을 따라 살면서 자기가 하고 싶은것, 도전해 보고 싶은것을 하는것은 그걸 벗어나는 일이기에 두려움이 있죠. 우리 사회는 그런 '도전'을 하는 친구들에게 실패를 용인해주고 다음기회를 주기보단 순종적인 또 다른 후보를 받아들이는 일을 선호하는데 그게 더 효율적이니까요. 멈추지 않는 열차에서 주변에 뭐가 있는지 구경하겠다고 한번 뛰어 내리면 그걸 쫒아서 다시 올라타는 일은 굉장히 어렵고, 일반적인 방법으론 만회하기 어려운 일이죠. 그런 사회의 무서움을 아는 기성세대는 자신들의 자녀들인 젊은세대들의 그 '코스'를 벗어나는 행동이 무모해 보이고, 자칫 잘못될 결과로 인해 안정된 사회에서 도태될껄 우려하는 거라고 봅니다. 하지만 인간은 참 다양한 사고와 행동을 하며 살아가는 존재이고, 우리의 인생은 다양하 모습으로 펼쳐질 수 있는 것인데 단지 이 시스템 속에서 안정된 소득만을 위해 사회가 원하는 모습으로만 맞춰 살다보면 누군가는 진정한 '나'를 잊고 살기 마련이고 내면으로부터 채워지지 않는 갈망이 있겠죠. 그 나를 찾기 위한 도전과 인생의 모험을 포기하지 말라는 거라고 봅니다. 어쩌면 그것이 시대가 흐르면서 계속되어온 그 시대의 젊은 세대의 특권이자 정체성 같기도 하구요. '용서해 줄께'는 '코스'를 벗어나는것이 마치 잘못을 저지르는 것 같은 두려움으로 느껴지고, 기성 세대의 질책과 우려스러운 눈빛 속에 주눅들어 주저하고 있는 젊은 세대들을 향한 위로이자 격려라고 생각되네요. Not Today도 그 도전을 떠난 젊은이들을 향한 메세지를 담고 있는걸로 보여져서 그 맥락이 이어진다고 봅니다. 누군가는 그들의 외모, 안무와 춤, 비트, 중독성 있는 후렴 구 등이 좋아서 관심을 갖고 좋아하지만 가사를 잠잠히 살펴보면 상당한 곡들이 메세지를 던져주고 있는게 보입니다. '방탄'의 의미가 총알을 막아준다는 의미인데, 시대에 젊은 이들을 향한 편견과 억압을 이겨내겠다는 의미로 지었다는 말처럼 자신들의 정체성을 음악에 잘 담아내는 그룹이라고 생각되네요. 그래서 다른 Kpop 그룹들과는 차별성을 가지고 국내를 넘어 세계의 젊은 이들에게 어필되고, 'Love Yourself' 같은 메세지는 세대마저 아우르는 공감을 주기에 폭넓은 인기가 있는 거 아닌가 생각됩니다.

My guess was, Suga was saying "I'll forgive you" to the previous generation/cohort, for making youth stressful and making them confined with the society's expectations. They were forgiving elders for making them not living the fire of youth as they wanted to live. But I don't know korean, so that was just an interpretation after subtitles ^.^
their lyrics are very well written.This song is about telling youth that it's okay not to be perfect all the time and it's okay to have fun once in a while

I love watching you guys learn about the boys! I agree the song does portray a sense of recklessness, but the main message I took away from it is to remind people that we live our own lives and that's it's okay if we fail. To be honest, hearing that lyric "애쓰지 좀 말어 져도 괜찮아" for the first time was such a salve. Especially for people growing up in Korea, we're so often told to try are gosh darn hardest in everything, even things that we don't care about or want to do and that if we don't get that first place, we'll ruin all our chances for future happiness... it can be overwhelming and that line lingered in my mind and felt so reassuring. I think this is one of the ways BTS connects with and comforts the people who listen to their music.

This was the last single released from their “youth” album trilogy. Most of the other songs are very kind of angst-y and lost and about pressures and expectations being put on today’s young generation. A lot of sad songs, desperate songs and even angry/frustrated songs. And then “Fire” becomes like the last, totally hype anthem song that’s basically all about, you know, it’s okay to go crazy and have fun sometimes. You’ll never be young like this again. Don’t worry about people judging you or falling behind in studies just go let it all out! Burn it all! And “I’ll forgive you” BTS are basically giving their blessing to go crazy and enjoy youth. Which might be the greatest message if you didn’t take into account the three albums they filled up talking about the pains and struggles of youth. Kids who listen to them relate heavily to those songs and need to hear this song. Ironically this song was huge in Korea and so a lot of Korean people at the time just think it’s only a hard core party/dance song by a typical idol group. And it is catchy as hell!! But it had so much more impact for me when you see it as a part of a whole

I am very partial to their Dark & Wild era. It's their first foray into the grittier, edgier side. With the Skool trilogy they were exploring the expectations put on youth as well as a boy's early love. They needed a bridge to cross to get into the more mature themes of searching for Self and confronting the more bitter side of life, love, and friendship. D&W is that bridge. It contains further challenge of the status quo, more honesty about the sweet things felt about love, the warning to the romantic partner that their growing indifference is putting the relationship in Danger, and the melancholy longing for what seems to be lost. The Boy is searching, and the BTS boys are stretching and further finding their voice. Yeah. Dark & Wild is worth the journey from front to back.

Hi Kpop Oh, you’re welcome! It’s just my personal take on it, I have no official source. I’d like to add this: another reason I love it as an album is that when I listen to it from Intro to Outro, I feel like I’ve been taken on some kind of journey. (Note: EVERYthing with BTS is a dang journey, it’s really just a question of one album, a trilogy, or the whole frickin catalogue. 😆) But seriously, somehow it resonates with me in a way that makes me feel I’ve disappeared into the cohesiveness and emerged on the other side. (Okay it’s starting to get weird in here.) Obviously, I highly recommend it. ‘Danger’ remains my all-time favorite fast BTS song (with several close seconds!), and it’s still my favorite choreography. (Spring Day is a very close second.) If you ever were going to do a Listening Party/album review, this one and the Wings album might be good choices to sample the spectrum of BTS’ collective ‘voice’. Rather than feeling like they’re disjointed, to me it feels like I’m sampling a range. Okay I’m going on like a serious fangirl with probably WAY more stuff than anyone ever wanted... 😆 All I know is that I love their stuff and they could be their own radio station. #hopeless

BTS debut years (2013-2014) was school trilogy, basically BTS as rebellious boys in school. So their debut song, No More Dream, and N.O, and etc, were more focused on dreams because they were in school phase. 2015-2016 was HYYH (화양연화) = most beautiful moment in life, a.k.a. YOUTH. So that era was about boys growing up, that's why Fire is like this, about "burning youth" and just living your life. That's why the toilet paper spelling "youth" was burning. The end of hyyh series is "young forever", basically as they grow up, they want to still stay young forever, not in terms of age, but to still have their youth, the youth that lived life and dreamed.
뮤비도 좋은데 뮤비 후에 무대를 보시면 더 좋을 것 같아요. 비티에스가 세계관이 있기 때문에 각 뮤비를 모아서보면 뮤지컬 영화를 보는 듯한 느낌이 있어요~

It's not just a fun music video. (그냥 재밌기만 한 뮤비가 아닙니다) The first scene where a person burns is an homage to the Pink Floyd album. (첫 장면에서 사람이 불타는 모습은 핑크 플로이드 앨범에 대한 오마주이고요) Fire symbolizes many things in various music videos of BTS. (불은 방탄 여러 뮤비들에서 많은 것을 상징합니다) I think 'Fire' and 'burn it up' represent to overcome oppression and prejudice about them, break the absurdities of society (여기에서 'fire' 'burn it up' 이런 것들은 그들에 대한 억압과 편견을 태워버리고 극복하는 것, 사회의 부조리를 깨버리는 것을 의미하겠죠.) Yoongi lit them up, and at the end he says, 'I'll forgive you. (처음에 불을 붙이고 싹 다 태워버리는 것도, 마지막에 용서해줄게 하는 것도 윤기인 게 의미심장하죠...) 영어라 어렵네요ㅋㅋ

Bts 가 tv에 나와 이야기한것을 들은적이 있는데 우리 청소년들은 대학진학이란 목표나 멋진 직장을 위해 학원과 자기 계발을 위해 쉴틈도 없이 노력해왔는데 처음등장하는 검은 후드 쓴 사람이 자기 분신으로서 너무 애쓰고 노력만 하고 버거워하는 힘든 자기의 다른 자신을 태워버리고 이제는 조금져도 괜찮고 이제 젊음을 즐기며 모험을 하며 살아도 된다고.... 자책 말고 조금 쉬어도 조금 느슨해진 자기 자신을 용서하자는 뜻의 메시지라고 bts가 한 말을 들은것 같아요 그러니 자기자신을 사랑하자는 유엔의 메시지와 같은것 같네요

In the song, Suga ends by saying "I forgive you" because the lyrics are telling young people that it's okay to fail. In a culture where students are supposed to be perfect, where teens put in 10 hour days at school and cram school (after school classes), where there is so much pressure by parents also (who often work 2 jobs to pay for cram school), he's saying that the time to fail is when you're young. That you don't have to be the best. Interesting anecdote. A few years back there was an international tae kwon do match which involved N Korea... when BTS "Fire" came over the loudspeakers, the N Korean delegation got up and left the audience. (BTS is banned in N Korea.)
