Brandon and Chad invite Brandon's brother and sister-in-law to watch BTS for the first time, but with a new twist! The New York City couple reacts and compares two opposite BTS music styles and then chooses their favorite! Watch to the end to hear their thoughts on BTS and these two different music styles!

  • I see lot of people commenting re:Spring Day meaning and DOPE has a very deep socio-political reference and can be seen as a diss directed towards the media and boomers. RM and Suga’s verses in the middle of the song encompasses this. This song brings up that the playing field and economy is unfair for younger generation, but that grown-ups and media blame the younger generation for being lazy and lacking willpower and writes them off. (Notice they’re dressed up as different types of jobs/careers) But BTS is saying they don’t agree with the media and older generation and BTS is telling the youth not to listen to what the media tells them. BTS is telling the youth that they believe in the value of who they are and who they want to become and their efforts are worth something. BTS’ perceived cockiness is actually one of solidarity with the youth.

  • Spring Day has such a deep and sad meaning, and it based on true tragedy. i hope you guys could check the video explaining it. I was in tears watching that 😭

    • It was the worst tragedy in 21st century in Korean history. I never forget the tragedy and forgive the former Korean President impeached by Koreans in 2017.

    • to my knowledge bts has never officially confirmed that this is a tribute to sewol ferry. this is a widely spread theory. theories are theories only. interpret as you please to either lessen your pain or bring yourself joy. please do not state as a fact that it is based on a tragedy unless you have a statement from group acknowledging that. otherwise it can cause misunderstandings and unnecessary controversy/drama for the group. thank you.

    • @@fjp9 of course they can never officially say this video was dedicated for the victims. Google how the Korean government had extensively blacklisted journalists and groups whom supported or spoke out about the incident, and even to this day they are hesitant to credit the videos dedication to it.

  • Also, as the some of the other commenters mentioned, Spring Day is actually a very profound song. Beautifully done as per many fans, it refers to a national tragedy (ferry accident that killed many school age children due to negligence).

  • I appreciate the contrast. It is a great way of showing BTS' versatility and how they can do it all: sing, dance, rap, genres. What some of the people here in comments seem to miss is that this isn't about a kpop reacter doing a deep dive into kpop. This channel is all about introducing kpop to people who would never have heard it otherwise, who are NOT stans, who are casual listeners at best, and are learning about kpop music organically - by simply hearing the song and seeing the music video casually. This is NOT about doing explanation videos, going into the deep hidden meanings behind the lyrics, or to gush over someone's particular bias. This is about how normal people, not stans, would first hear and react to this type of music - and casual listeners are not going to CARE about the deeper meanings and meaningful explanations, but rather, if they simply like the music. I get that we, as fans, get excited and want to give ALL THE INFORMATION RIGHT NOW. But inundating a person with unwanted information is one of the best ways to overwhelm them and make them run away. I love you guys' families and friends for being so open and willing to experience it all on camera for you guys. They are all good sports, and I hope to see more of them. Thank you.

  • Spring Day is not called "The Queen" for nothing! It IS BTS "Queen of Songs"! The depth of the concept executed in the music & lyrics then visualized into the MV is astounding! You should check out the explanation for the Spring Day MV--yes, they used the Snowpiercer movie as one of the references, but there are lots more details incorporated here that would simply floor you. BTS is not just a K-Pop group by now, obviously.

  • Just FYI! Spring Day is actually a song for the children who died in the Sewol Ferry sinking incident in Korea. It was a massive school trip, so the ferry was predominantly filled with children and most of them drowned because the Ferry sunk. - just wanted to let you know why that song is popular and meant so much to so many people! 😊 the lyrics spoke about the different stages of grief, ending with hope that loved ones will reunite again.

  • 제가 방탄을 다른 아이돌들과 다르게 느끼는건 정말 음악 장르가 다양하고 그 다양한장르를 모두 소화한다는겁니다 타팬덤이 싫어할 수도 있겠으나 타 그룹들은 음악에 특징이 있어요 음악을 듣다보면 전에 곡과 유사한 느낌이 드는 곡들을 계속 발표하죠 완벽히 다른 음악이 아니고 비슷한 응악들입니다 하지만 방탄은 음악이 다 틀려요 어떤 형태든 비트든 다틀립니다 정말 대단하다는 생각이 들어요 국내아이돌뿐 아니라 외국 팝가수들도 자기 특유의 리듬이나 멜로디가 약간 한정되어 있는듯한 느낌이 드는데 방탄은 모든곡들이 다 다른 느낌을 줍니다 봄날 쩔어 마이크드랍 홈 디오니소스 전부 다른 느낌으로 정말 신곡이 나올때마다 새롭죠 그래서 전 그들이 정말 대단하다고 느낍니다

  • "봄날" 곡을 좋아한다면 조금더 디테일하게 설명해주면 더 좋았을텐데... 2017년에 bts가 세월호 희생자들에게 1억원을 기부하고, 며칠후 "봄날"이 나왔습니다. 뮤비 곳곳에 희생자들을 기리는 메세지가 있습니다. 지금 코로나에 힘들어하는 세계에 "다이너마이트"곡을 내놓듯...세월호사건후에 봄날을 발표했죠. 그당시 정부의 압박으로 세월호 추모곡이라고 발표하진 못했습니다.

    • bts에 관심을 가진지 얼마되지 않아 잘 몰랐네요. 전 봄날이 정권교체 후 나온 노래라고 생각했어요. 망해가는 정권이긴 하였으나 그런 곡을 발표한다는게 큰 모험이었을 거 같네요. 정치적 성향을 떠나서 내야할 목소리를 내는 건 중요하지만 정작 중요한 메세지보다 정치적 성향만을 따지는 어지러운 세상이니까요. 봄날 해석본은 저도 봤습니다. 실제로 세월호 희생자 중에 방탄소년단의 팬들이 있을 수도 있지 않을까 생각하면 노래가 더 슬프게 느껴지죠.

  • You should research the story of Omelas that was referenced in their scene. Also their animated music video called We are Bulletproof the eternals. It’s such a nice ballad. Also The Truth Untold, House of Cards and more.

    • @@user-wb5fc3tl6v I mentioned this multiple times to them and they haven't changed their format - I don't know why. Exactly the reason I haven't subscribed yet. My pet peeve is when one of them stops the video and mentions something in the video that is so obvious, like he is a critic. For example, 'I see that the colors they use are mostly black and yellow and the landscape is beautiful' - yeah duh. I realize they have to stop the video sometimes for copyright, but make the comments more interesting and not so long.

    • 정작 bts는 세월호 라고 이야기한적도 없는데 어디서 헛소리하는지, 자기가 의미를 주고 싶은대로 생각해도 되지만 그것이 진실인양 떠들면 안되죠. 혼자 생각하든가 같은 생각한 사람끼리 이야기하시길 당신같은 사람들때문에 안티 생기고 군면제에 대해 부정적인 말들이 많이 나온다고 😡😡😡😡😡

    • 세월호라는 추리도 좋긴한데, 그것만 의미하는게 아니라, 원래 저 뮤비 전체적인 배경은 소설 '오멜라스를 떠나는 사람들'에서 나온걸로 알고 있습니다. 그안에서 세세하게 세월호 느낌나는 오브제들이 있는거구요...! 뮤비는 해석하기 나름인데 어디서부터 세월호를 위한 곡,뮤비로 변질된건지...아마 어떤 뮤비해석 유튜버분이 말씀해주신걸로 시작한것같은데 그것도 좋은 해석이지만 그 해석만이 정답이라고 생각하실 필요는 없을것같아요. 그리고 RM님은 세월호 생각하면서 썼다고 말했던적 한번도 없어요... 17년도 멜론뮤직어워드에서 가족과 친구들을 생각하며 썼다고 말하는건 본적이 있는데...

  • Spring Day shows the depth of BTS, you don’t find with other kpop groups. Not only is it emotional, expert creativity in filming, but the symbolism and messages are so deep. Because of the highly intense social injustice of the topic, they had to be very vague ( people’s careers actually got blacklisted for talking out about this tragedy, and government officials ended up serving prison time because of the incident. And it was a topic that was understood to be off limits). So even though RM cannot come out and say it was about the Sewol Ferry incident, there is no misinterpreting it. It is funny how something can be so “in-your-face” evident, but as long as certain words are not spoken, you can get away with slipping it in under the radar. BTS is not afraid to stand up for social issues.

    • my question is for people who have watched the mv theory videos... if you had not watched them, would you be able to read in the sewol ferry incident into the mv? for me personally, i never would have. in my opinion, not just rm but bts as a whole will never be able to officially state that spring day is a tribute to sewol ferry incident. i do love the song for its meanings about appreciating and cherishing friendships/relationships new, old, and past.

  • In Springday MV there are many symbols about Sewol ferry accident. The most tragic accident in Korean recent history. It is really amazing to think that they have released this mv in president Parks regime. Because they could have been easley in the notorious blacklist which was made by the former government to suppress artists against them. You should react to Springday mv explained.

  • I love music and I am very open-minded about the type of musician and their music, but it is always that one song, which I hear and the others are just okay, but BTS is the only group that I hear to all of their songs and I love all of them equally.   • These two songs are like milestones to BTS and ARMY. Dope is the song that started the BTS reaction trend on KZhead. This is actually the first MV by BTS that I saw and was hooked eversince, I know I'm not the only one. Spring Day is the longest charting song on Melon (Korean music chart) and every time BTS has a new song, Spring Day always rises on the charts too. Spring Day is also the first BTS song that won Song of the Year.

  • I’m glad they you enjoy their music, versatility and artistic talents. It isn’t always necessary to try and figure out the hidden messages or the storyline of their MVs and music tracks. Just appreciating their combined talents is enough for me. Continue to pass on that appreciation to family and friends. In time or when you feel you want to, you can delve explore the message in the music and/or MV.

  • Should show them the explanation video of Spring Day and either the Dance practice or live performance. What attracted me to BTS was the whole package. The MV's don't usually have the dancing like in Dope, and it's the choreography that they practiced 12 to 14 hours a day to perfect is why I watch them. I appreciate their hard work to make it look so effortless and perfect.

  • I do like your idea of presenting different kinds of songs by BTS to show their versatility. I enjoyed this very much! As someone else suggested, another good BTS pairing would be MIC Drop/Black Swan. Maybe even Boy With Luv/On Kinetic Manifesto Come Prima Film or Fake Love/Dynamite.
