  • Looks like the google doc bibliography link isn’t working, I’ll fix it when I can. (Update: It's fixed) Also great timing on my part since the new US drawdown will likely include Bradley’s, making that section of my video out of date already! Let me know if you guys spot any errors.

  • To answer your question. Rosomak basic plating of the hull comprises Armox 450T. Additional spaced armour plates made of Armox 500T steel 6-8mm thick. The Rosomak turret protection is made of rolled aluminium plates with a thickness of 17 to 25 mm (sides and rear). For the mission in Afghanistan (140 used), turrets were additionally covered with 40 mm composite armour consisting of ceramic plates on an aramid base enclosed in aluminium panels, which provided protection according to STANAG Level IV. The APCs used on the mission were also equipped with an external steel cage with tensioned steel cables placed on the panels. It created a much lighter cage than the commonly used steel bar cages. Polish KTO also uses soft-kill APS similar to the one used in PT-91 MBT. Interior is covered with aramid "blankets" for protection against shrapnel. All Rosomaks used in Afghanistan showed traces of shelling and explosions upon return. Everything the Taliban had at their disposal was used against them: 12.7mm and 14.5mm mortars, RPGs with various types of warheads, and IEDs. The damage was caused only by anti-tank IEDs weighing 50 kg and tandem warheads of hand-held rocket launchers. Only two 8x8 Rosomak APCs were damaged beyond repair. Great video!

Versions with the ZSSW-30 unmanned turret equipped with two "spike" missiles are already being delivered to the Polish army. pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/KTO_Rosomak

  • It's only just appeared so I didn't expect you to cover it but Ukraine secretly been licensed to produce the south African Mbombe 6X6 which they have equipped with the Ukrainian domestically produced Spice 30mm combat module. It was shown last week for the first time, it looks so badass.

    @brookwhiteman9810@brookwhiteman981018 күн бұрын
    • I did see it but decided not to mention it for a couple reasons. First, even though it has the large RWS it might still not have enough protection to qualify as an IFV (the mbombe can be configured in different ways but that model might only protect against AP rifle caliber rounds). Second, I’m somewhat dubious of the claim that they are being produced domestically, or at least to what extent. And third, we’ve only seen the one vehicle, and I purposely tried to avoid entries for super rare and esoteric vehicles, since there’s almost no footage of most of them and not a whole lot of background as to how/why they are being used.

  • Regarding the btr-4 production, a few pictures back in january showed a brand new btr-4 being put into service, so it seems like they finnaly are producing them again, from what i have seen they might have some 20 new btr-4s as off march, but considering it took them 6-12 months to set up a artillery production line that now produces 10 spgs pr month, it might be safe to say that they are capable of building some btr-4s. Pr month, probaly above 10

  • Very good video, informative and grounded. I really like your presentation style. The only small thing that ruffles me abit is the remark that there are supposed to be 1000 Marders still in storage somewhere in Germany. Do you have a source for that that? Because I have seen claims made about supposed german stockpiles but in reality the number in industry stock is not more than 200 (in "various" condition) and no bundeswehr stock at all.

    • Hey there! I did some quick searching and can not find the article that mentioned that storage figure (thats what I get for waiting so long to collect everything for the bibliography). I will keep searching but if I can't find it I will make a comment with some addendums/corrections to the video.

    • Drones are great to have but they can’t do everything. They can’t move infantry to and from the front, they can only carry lighter munitions, they can be easily jammed, and so on. You still need men and steel to make assaults or defend territory.

  • 2a42 is an unbelievable success. Used on helicopters, attack aircraft, countless AFVs and anti aircraft roles it is almost everywhere in the Russian military. I have experience with the bushmaster 25mm on the Bradley and have seen what it does to buildings and troops and it’s less impressive but still scary as hell. We found it’s fragmentation effect looks more impressive than it actually is especially at night but the sound of it firing was enough to make your chest thump at 200 meters. Scary stuff all around, I am happy to no longer be active service because it’s getting pretty hairy these days

  • Watching the unedited telegram videos vs the curated propaganda on KZhead is eye opening. From ukranians dropping their wounded and running for their lives to fabs annihilating the entire front lines I don’t know how anyone could believe Ukraine isn’t being steamrolled

    @TheCrapOnYourStrapOn@TheCrapOnYourStrapOn19 күн бұрын
    • You make it sound like these bad things are exclusive to the Ukrainians. I bring up at the end of the video how Russia is itself taking massive casualties, especially since the start of the Avdiivka offensive. And people have been claiming the Ukrainians are getting steamrolled since the start of the war. Very rarely in this war have we actually seen any sort of massive movement or rout, so I think ’steamroll’ is quite hyperbolic for what’s going on now.

      @mr.andrew9171@mr.andrew917119 күн бұрын
    • @@mr.andrew9171 my goodness you have been very misinformed. Not about Russian casualties as there are plenty of those. However, Ukraine at this very moment is experiencing a battalion sized rout outside chasiv yar, avdiivka was an absolute disaster for Ukraine where thousands of troops were abandoned and forced to traverse more than 7km of open terrain because their leadership refused to allow them to retreat. My friend this is happening all over the front line. The fabs and artillery are decimating the ukranians because they are forced to man known static positions that can be eliminated by artillery, drone, or air. It’s a nightmare. Anyone that has any kind of real military background knows what that means for the soldiers on the ground.

      @TheCrapOnYourStrapOn@TheCrapOnYourStrapOn19 күн бұрын
    • @@mr.andrew9171 Ukraine is now in a position where it is forced to grab people off of the streets and throw them into the trenches without even basic knowledge of how to survive there. Last week in one day alone Russia destroyed 8 aircraft and 2 entire anti air batteries (including the radar and command centers) in one day alone! The ukranians are in a position now where they are just trying to out the holes. This is exactly how the ussr defeated Germany. Destroy known positions and rear elements and when the ukranians have no ability left to defend an area they storm it with overwhelming numbers. It’s not how nato fights wars (which btw havnt been successful against any real military since ww2 when Russia had already depleted the Germans) but it is how Russia has always done it
